Many thanks for uploading this video 🖤 B.P.R. was pure magic, I've been lucky enough to attend "1996 1.000km at Autodromo Nazionale di Monza". I was very young but having seen so many beautiful monsters in front of me still gives me goosebumps nowadays. Just before the arrival of the fake roadcar GT1 by Porsche, I think it has been the last pinnacle for GT races. Cheers from Italy 🙋🏻♂️ Marco (iKR)
Hello from Monza 🙋🏻♂️ Scouting on Wikipedia seems that the answer to your question is "Yes", but not for GT1 and GT2 versions. I did remember too that they all had Renault transmissions 🧐 "The Esprit GT1 was built on the Type 114 platform using the body from the new S4 road-going Esprit made from composite materials and carbon fibre. Changes to the bodywork included a new carbon fibre splitter, diffuser and floor. Power came from a Type 918 V8 engine with a single Garrett T4 turbocharger that had a power output of 557 PS (410 kW; 549 hp). The Renault transaxle was not considered adequate for the task. Where the GT2 cars used Hewland DG300 units, the GT1 would use the new TGT200 6-speed transverse transaxle". Cheers from Italy. Marco (iKR)

Did that Esprit have the Renault transmission? If so it is very impressive to hold off the F1 and F40 for such a long time.
