What you were looking for is called a "pinch harmonic". It's done with a different type of picking style which uses a bit of the finger on the string.

What's a "fry"? I think I've heard that term before, relating to a guitar, and that Zak Wylde does it a lot.

    • @jimmymyers9377
      @jimmymyers9377 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

I believe it’s the same thing just called something different. I’ve only really ever heard “fry” in terms of like vocal fry.
If you want an example Zakk uses pinch harmonics in Ozzy’s song “No more tears”

@jimmymyers9377 OK, thanks. And now that you mentioned it I think I may have heard the term fry associated with vocals and then misremembered 🥴. I'm very familiar with Zakk and that song, though. I actually met him once and got to have a few drinks with him and talked about music and Ozzy. He's a trip!!

Vulgar Display of Power (Walk) is such a better album IMHO. It's more brutal, but has soulful bits too like 'This Love'. Cowboys from Hell album (Cemetary Gates) still has vestiges of their cheesy glam roots. Please have a listen to other cuts from Vulgar Display of Power. If you want brutal go for 'Rise' and 'A New Level'. If you want soulful, try 'This Love'. Why not do 'em all? You won't regret it.

This song came out at the tail end of the glam metal era, which still dominated the radio until Nirvana, Metallica, and hip hop all destroyed it at the same time. This song was probably written with the radio in mind, which is why Phil Anselmo has said he hates the song. He's much more chill now than he was in the 1990s and 2000s, so I wonder if he still hates the song.

In the album Halford - Live Insurrection Rob compilates all his carreer with his own band playing Judas Priest classics, Fight from the 90's and new tracks from Halford band definitely worth the time listening to the whole album he really shows his vocal range live here.

You want the views, you should react to Nightwish: Ghost Love Score Wacken 2013.
Also, check out Motorheads original version of 1916. Followed by the remake of 1916 by Saboton. You want to move people, react to those.

I've got a canning jar full of outdoor herb from 2021. Leeched proper, it's really good. Shame all you Brits have hard law on weed.
If you ever come over to Canada, let me know before, I can help you out. I'm smoking a 2+year harvest, A full up canning jar, let's say an oz,...$40. I know tons of musicians for a good time musicality.

Keep going down the PanterA rabbit hole.....listen to EVERYTHING they ever recorded.....it gets heavier with each album. React to their songs "Fucking Hostile" and "Mouth For War"......but even if you cant do a video for all their songs, listen to all of it. And research the band. A hell of a group of guys.🤘😠

If you like long climactic guitar solos, and ridiculous vocals, please listen to:
    Queensryche-Operation: Mindcrime
The entire album is an operatic epic. Since you liked Serj Tankian from SOAD and David Draiman from Disturbed on vocals, you'll be blown away by Geoff Tate! There second album Empire is also damn good. Della Brown is my favorite song on that one.

🔥Great reaction my man. Keep it up in the new year.🔥
You should check out the band Black Label Society, especially the song "In This River."
The lead singer and guitar player were best friends, practically brothers, with Dimebag, Pantera's guitarist, until he passed away.
"In This River," was originally written by Zakk Wylde (The guy from Black Label Society) in reference to just the downside to life in general. Then while in the studio recording the album that would include that song, he got the news that Dimebag was shot and killed. After that, the song took on a completely different meaning to him.

Phillip Anselmo can do everything.. absolutely bang it out like domination or walk.
And sing like an angel going through 5 octaves ..
There's levels to this shit bro..😎
Wait until you watch "I'm broken" by pantera.
It's just them jammin in a room..it's the most heavy metal video of heavy metal..🤔
    You'll see....😁🤟

The guitarist Dime Bag Darrell was killed by a crazed fan...Eddie Van Halen placed his famous yellow guitar in his coffin with him. He said anything less wouldn't do for Darrell!

The guitar squeals in this song are truly unforgettable. I remember the first time I heard this song and that main riff melted my brain.
