How to Create a Vision for Your Life

แชร์

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 15 ส.ค. 2024
  • I used to think it was a silly waste of time to think about a vision for my life. Who does that? It seems to touchy-feely, too Tony Robbins-ish.
    But then, as I started learning how to change my life and my habits, I realized something: people avoid creating a vision for their lives because they believe the exercise is futile. Why make a vision when it’s impossible to accomplish those things anyway?

    This stuff really works. Last year on 11th March 2017 I wrote in my journal that my next fitness goal would be to climb Everest and wrote down some necessary steps to get there. This year on the 17th September 2018 I climbed Gran Paradiso, the highest mountain in Italy and on the 24th Sept 2018 I climbed Mont Blanc, the highest nountain in the Alps and Western Europe. Writing goals down makes them visible to your eyes and not just your imagination. And then you start taking all of the little steps along the way to make the overall goal possible. Everest for me is the big goal even though it costs a lot and I haven't figured that part out yet. Mont Blanc was just one step, a mini goal which was incredibly rewarding. However most importantly, It was a step in the right direction, and ultimately that is what progression is all about. Hope some of you guys and gals invest in a journal and take time to write down your goals, it's a worthwhile exercise.

    I also think that many people don’t know where to start when thinking about their vision. You give a straightforward explanation of how to do it, which will at least help them to take the first step. Very well explained.

    I want to honestly express myself, be able to have fun wherever and with whoever I am, but I also don‘t want to fool around, but be serious about what I say, and don‘t just talk random shit but express what I honestly feel and think, not needing to entertain people in conversations, but just expressing myself clearly, and be and think straightforward, on-point, have a hands-on mentality and rather start doing than thinking about something for eternity . i want to see the value in things and people, the short term and long term value. And act accordingly, choose my words and actions wisely to not look like a foul but like a man, like an alpha, who knows what he wants and how he can get it. I want people to thrive around me because my aura creates trust, stability and energy. I want to be fun and not too serious about life because it ain‘t worth it, and keep this inner child and sometimes troll alive, but I also don‘t want to give people shit and be more responsible for my thoughts, words and actions.

    Having a vision will massively change your life...for the better. Wish I had understand that at 18 rathe then only figuring it out at 36, however, the last few years have been incredible, all because I decided to create the world I wanted to live in, become the person I wanted to be and created the vision of where I wanted to go.

  • @thecurrentmoment
    @thecurrentmoment 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Your vision is the picture and your goals are elements of the picture.
    So if your vision is like a picture of a landscape then your goals are like "draw a mountain", " draw a sun", "draw some birds", " draw some trees", etc. I.e. the things that are in the picture, but your vision IS the picture

      @Lake Natron I didnt mean it in a way of not being satisfied.. But more in terms of symptoms of Depersonalization and Derealization... It affects everything I do.... Time seems like not passing, deadlines seem unreal and disconnected from my actions. When driving, the world outside looks 2D and unrealistic and like a game... And now when Im with my sexual partner.. right in front of me during our "games" .. I cant get excited.. even though she is wiggling and twerking and trying to excite me.. but she seems just like a cardboard cutout to me who asks for my attention.. and it all feels like a chore to perform.... I cannot relax to feel being in the moment.. My mind feels like it has to totally control the situation and shut me from anything unknown or too exciting.

    The best thing you can do in your life is to make a day to day schedule, and stick to it.
    A schedule helps you decide what you need to do, when you are confused, stuck, or having second thoughts.
    Once you have a schedule that is made to make you accomplish your goals, stay on your schedule, and in time, you will achieve success.

    Note: Life Vision (The bigger picture) vs. Long-term goals (Individual experiences and accomplishments)
    Your vision becomes your 'WHY', and helps to define your goals giving you a framework to evaluate them.
    I
    . Ask these questions - 1:58
    II. How to create your life's vision? - 2:40
    1. Identify what matters.
    1.1. What's the real meaning of life?
    1.2. How should I live my life?
    2. List of categories of things that matter to you.
    2.1. What do you want/need from each of those items?
    III. Create a statement that describes your ideal life - 4:20
    IV. Build a system to work towards your ideal life, where you can review/update your vision and goals as you go - 5:05
    1. Calendar reminders. Block slots of time for each task.
    2. Daily actions to take.

    Having a life vision in my mind I call it my " foreseeability plan " if I make a plan I will than assess if its doable and achievable and I than I will Annalise the future of my plan . eg: do I have the ability to succeed, will I be able to undertake any challenges that may arise. I always look for the foreseeability before I say or do in my life .

    Q1. What do you want to change about the world?
    A1. Don’t be silly. You’ll change nothing about the world. Instead, change yourself, but limit yourself to merely influencing the people and places you have immediate access to. Beyond this, you would have failed and thus wasted your life.
    Q2. What could you contribute to the world that would make you feel proud and content?
    A2. Nothing you do for the world would make you feel proud and content. Instead, ask yourself what you could do for yourself, your family and friends, or your mate and associates. Satisfaction is primarily within and, at most, amongst those you are closest to.

    • @jameswade1366
      @jameswade1366 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Q3. When you die, what would you want people to say and remember about you?
      A3. No one outside of your family and lifelong friends will give a damn about your achievements. You’ll be forgotten by the vast majority of people you’ve encountered in life (within hours, maybe days).

    • @jameswade1366
      @jameswade1366 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Q4. Identify what matters.
      A4. What matters in life must be limited to your needs, primarily, and the needs of those closest you you (family, friends, mate, associates), secondarily.
      The best framework to determine what matters to you is based on Maslow’s theory of motivation, illustrated in his hierarchy of needs. It outlines what you need and what you might want out of life, facilitated by the various philosophies of life you’ll ultimately practice (e.g. stoicism or Christianity, capitalism or socialism, materialism or minimalism, et Alia).

      Reasoning and the elaboration aren't given here, it'd be appreciated if it was. But I'm not going to give my grain of salt since that seems to be what you want to believe about life and how it works. Don't know why you think that way, but ok.
