  • In my book "Mastery," I discuss the idea of finding your "life's task," which I see as the most important pursuit in your life. Here are some helpful ways you can discover your purpose in life.
Let me know what your life's task is in the comments below ⬇️
Robert Greene is the author of the New York Times bestsellers The 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction, The 33 Strategies of War, The 50th Law, Mastery, The Laws of Human Nature, and most recently, The Daily Laws.

You are totally right,if you don’t understand earlier what are your skills, around 40 it’s going to be a little to late to do something meaningful with your life…not impossible but it’s very hard now😏
Thank you for sharing your experience of life! ❤

Dr. Greene most likely you already know about this Neuroscience doctor Paul-Bach-y-Rita who helped his father to completely recover after a stroke. Just in case, this is an article about his research. cmsw.mit.edu/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Champagne-for-the-Blind-Paul-Bach-y-Rita-Neurosciences-Forgotten-Genius.pdf

My grandfather (who is no longer alive) left me a few quotes that I have stuck to. 1) "The world will never stop being the world." 2) "Life is beautiful. You just have to know how to live it." and 3) "Don't be lazy. Work hard." They are simple yet profound. He raised 10 kids, worked in a factory, immigrated his children legally from a small village in Mexico into the US during the 1960s. He owned a car, 3 properties, and had the love and adoration of his children and grandchildren. I still sing about him to this day. As the Holy Bible says "Your reputation is more precious than jewels and rubies." And "Wisdom is nourishing to the soul like a good meal."

    1. Know who you are
    2. Discover yourself
    3. Stop faking your way through life
    4. Find your interest (take your time, as long as you are trying and exploring it will come, don’t follow what other people are doing)
    5. Enjoy the process of your work
    6. Acquire skills (your 20s are the best time)
    7. Listen to your impulse voices
    8. Follow your natural inclinations
    9. What makes you unique? (that thing that really nobody else can do, indications in your childhood, or when you were 16-17, adjust your life’s path match it with who you are)
    10. What is your form of intelligence? (frames of mind by howard gardner)
    11. Find your life’s task (return to those inclinations and to that uniqueness, you must reflect back upon those earliest inclinations, you must look at those subjects in the present that continue to spark that childlike intense curiosity in you)

I'm 31, and I discovered Robert at 28 years old, in the middle of the pandemic. I found him while I was running and listening to a podcast he did with Lewis Howes. Robert is one of those people where, like David Goggins, once you listen to him speak, you know that there are truths being spoken. He was so authentic and articulate in his podcast interview that it prompted me to learn more about him. I've been a Greene fan since. While I do not agree with everything outlined in his books, I can wholeheartedly say that his book Art of Seduction has taught me sooooooooooooooo much...about life, about power, about persuasion and influence...about MYSTERY. As Michael Jackson once said in regards to Britney Spears "I don't think she understands the true power of mystery."

Robert your insight as you have journeyed through life has been a tremendous help to me.
I live a 12 step prescribed way of life after losing everything including freedom for over a decade, over and over but because of a higher power arresting my impulses long enough to do the hard work you describe in your books, I am now a highly successful, creative software engineer at top fortune companies, a musician, a lover, a friend, brother and son.
Every day I am grateful and show it through action towards those I am grateful for, I make them food, or become vulnerable on a regular basis and tell them plainly that I love and cherish them.
It so warms my heart to learn your latest installment will be touching on these topics.
As someone who has found their purpose (love, creativity and service), I appreciate you very much and wish you all the success with this one.
    Much love Robert

    Dear Mr Greene,
I have cognitive dyspraxia, which ensured that I never made it off the bottom rung of the Civil Service. Early in my career I attempted to do so to appease my family and the stress nearly killed me.
Although I never knew what was wrong with me (the condition was undiagnosed until my mid 50s), it's clear my subconscious knew I was deficient. As a result, my inner voice told me to have no goals or ambitions; I'm glad I learned to listen to it.
    Frank.

When he says i was "meant to", the question of "Who meant it"? came to mind.
    Speaks more of like Destiny.
And if there is No higher power, Destiny, purpose etc.
How do we have any meaning in life. We are just like animals. Just to live, eat, survive and die.
I believe Purpose starts with God.
Saying we are from a Big bang, a fish in the sea evolved to us, gives no meaning to us.
We were made in the image and Likeness of God and therefore have a destiny and a purpose. There's a higher unseen power

Why, why, why, your site doesn’t point to any of Jane Robert books-it’s so, so, so, odd. Each one of us have to do our own work and we can, we do. Books are marvelous, yours are some of the best.

You are able to write, so it doesn't seem completely hopeless to me. There is also a lot of remote work options. I don't really know details about your situation. But the worst you can do is to have a victim mindset and do nothing. Speaking from an experience. Make sure your life is balanced and enjoy small wins in areas you can :) wishing all the best for you

    • @Onthe9thlife3730
      @Onthe9thlife3730 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@MarianneHMiettinen there actually isn't any remote work available for me, I've looked. The only stuff that was available was the MLM scams pretending to be "be your own boss, work from home!".
I get bedridden from going grocery shopping and that's with sensory aids to help reduce stimulus. I'm a lot more recovered now from health destroying, and I mean destroyed with ongoing physical issues I'll never recover from, but this doesn't change the fact that every single job I've had in multiple industries basically crippled me every time but it wasn't until the last job where I just kept pushing through the "depression" which was actually burnout and everyone was just ignoring me asking for help or misdiagnosing the actual issues, and it took a very long time for me to work out I'm autistic and ADHD because of all the coping mechanisms and masking I had to do just to survive.
Then there's the discrimination, unconscious, conscious and deliberate, AND systematic discriminations inbuilt into application systems and interview processes on the incredibly rare and off chance to get to interview. There's also the lack of actual usable support services. I've already rung around to those and unable to get assistance, the rest are actually so hard to get assistance with that neurotypical and fully functional people applying on behalf of family members have multiple breakdowns trying to navigate them.
Being able to write is literally the flatline to being employable for online jobs. And now? A lot of the people who used to rely on copy writing and editing services as jobs are actually struggling to get work because of AI garbage, the same AI garbage that's the result of massive and ongoings IP theft and has no ability to be copyrighted.
Don't diminish my struggles as being "victim mindset" when I'm not a victim because I lack mental strength. You should actually remove it from your vocabulary because that's all it is. It's ignoring and gaslighting a person's actual struggles and evidence based experiences otherwise they would never have ended up in that mental space to begin with. People don't magically end up like that.
I've always done what I can, where I can, when I could and it was never ever enough.
