Excellent review! So many effort in details, clear voice and picture... Thanks Dan! Can I kindly ask you (suggest), if possible, to do the test drive on motorway driving 130km/h? What is the cabin noise and consumption in such driving conditions? I do 50% of driving on motorways, trips about 650km in one direction, and I'm interested if one fuel tank (40 liters) is enough for such a trip. Also, what is the range driving in fully electrical model, speed up to 40km/h? Petrol engine starts running at around 60km/h? Thanks, I appreciate you help!
Thanks for feedback 👍 🙏 I will try to test it at 130km ...I think should be around 6l ....electric range ...not sure to tell you ...I will have to test it
I really like how the new 2022 Civic looks. The only thing I wish Honda did is giving the customer a choice between a Hybrid or a combustion engine. I drive a long time with my cars, and my concern is the Hybrid battery life after 7 years.
Idk where you are, but in the US, to be able to sell a hybrid car, the battery must last minimum 100k miles. I suppose Honda being a Japanese brand the standard 100k is default.
@@SDADanCars we don't know about how long the battery will last and how its capacity will drop within the years...Bingo! No one force car manufacture to do so! Even you journalist dont ask about it...
@@predragkardashian3730 Honda hybrid battery life expectancy is between 6 to 10 years or up to 100,000 miles. You have a dependable 8-year/100,000-mile warranty for your battery. Some batteries can last a little bit longer if you drive frequently on the open road, for about 10 years or even closer to 150,000 miles. If you drive in the city all the time, it's gonna die sooner. It depends on how you use your car, just like it depends on how you use your smartphone or any other device that is powered by a battery. It's simple, you don't have to be a scientist to figure that out.
Hey everyone. Currently I drive Honda Civic 8gen diesel hatchback (2006), specs: 2.2 i-CTDi (FK3), 103 kW (140 hp), torque: 340 Nm (250 lb-ft), 6 speed manual transmission. I drive mostly on highways fully loaded (4 adults, luggage space full). Usually I drive on highways at 137 km/h (85 mph) which is car speedometer value. Car consumption in this scenario is about 7 liters (1,8 gallons). Car is still agile in this scenario and I can accelerate easily if someone gets too close. I have no need to drive faster unless someone endangers me. How does new Honda Civic Honda Civic e:HEV (2liters) compare to my old Civic? 1. What is the consumption in scenario I described above? 2. Does new Civic still have enough agility to accelerate in my scenario? 3. If you ever drove my old car, do you feel any loss of agility compared to new the new one at high speeds? Any insights would be awesome! Thanks in advance.
I have a new crv hybrid with set up as the Civic can you stop the car, leave it in drive or reverse ,and just switch off the power button mine seems to put it into park when you do this am I doing something wrong. This was the system I used in my Peugeot 3008 when shutting the engine off
Could you also test drive it in a dense city with lots of idling and stop and go traffic? I think that's the great advantage in fuel consumption of the 2.0 e:Hev vs the old 1.5 liter turbo engine.
A question on safety operations - what happens if you press Park/Reverse/Neutral whilst in Drive mode? Does it ignore or warn or cause some fun times to happen?
Honda made an engineering masterpiece with this car. And at this price point... I'm driving a Ford Puma ST right now, which will be payed off in the next 2 years, but i'm seriously considering this Civic as my next car. My first car was a civic so i'm full circle soon. :) What a shame that this car won't be able to sell as much as it should, considering the strict rules EU has layed on the old continent. Does it still make sense to buy this car in 2024-2025? i'm not sure.. But I don't care much either.
Hye, SDA Dan Cars, nice review! For your opinion: which car drives nicer and has better sound isolation - Peugeot 308 or this Honda Civic? What could you say if some people compares this two cars? Thank you.
Is there a big difference between Corolla and Civic cruise control? In Civic, there is reportedly no distance radar that the Corolla has. I want to buy one of these cars and I can't decide.Your reviews are always the best. thanks
Are hybrid cars actually more economical in long term than regular ICE if a battery change is included? Let's say you want to keep the car, do about 15k km per year and battery needs to be changed in 10 years or so which can cost anywhere from 2k to 8k. This means all your fuel saving from hybrid might mean nothing and you might even end up paying more for the hybrid in the long term? What am i missing here?
Having test-driven it yesterday, it's as smooth as you can imagine/ However, the floppy-paddles are a boon to change torgue for old fogies like me who still prefer to use the manual "gearbox" rather than automatic to and brakes to slow down on hills! Nice touch, Honda!
Thanks for the great review. I am about to buy a Corolla Touring Sport, is this a better car? It would be my daily commuter for work, 17 km each way. I have a diesel mhev XC60 for long trips. Thanks!!
@@peruvianheat2053 Sorry for the late reply. The gears are simulated through the speakers and there is no CVT gearbox. Great car as always by Honda, excellent consumption considering the clima was on all the time, only downside is the price, got to be in the 40000+ and not 14, and the design. It is a grandpa car now, last Civic was standing out and it will look cool no matter how many years will pass, this design is already oldtime, grandpa, retiree style! I ve seen a video where they were saying that they elected this conservative styling because they ve been told the previous one was too eccentric! Well, isnt that what modern cars should be like? Last Civic is still so nice and unique, curves, accents, this is so blunt but being a Civic will do great as is in North America where it is the market they always aim for Civic being a top choice for years and rightfully so.
Have to disagree, the last Civic was ok if you were a fan of the fast and the furious anybody over 35 looked ridiculous getting out of one this model is the one that won't date the last generation will date badly in my opinion too many spoilers side skirts fake vents etc etc.

Milions of people have owned it and there are countless rewievs of it so the thing that I find truly incomprehensible is how in the name of sweet baby Jesus can you not pronounce Civic. This confuses me even more since you obviously know a lot about cars and have dedicated a lot of your time to them. You must have heard someone somewhere say the name, especially being surrounded and communicating with car people. I'm just so confused. It this is some sort of an inside joke thing, then sorry to have bothered you. Otherwise completely agree with you. A great car. I drive a 2019.
Thanks for feedback 👍 🙏 I will try to test it at 130km ...I think should be around 6l ....electric range ...not sure to tell you ...I will have to test it
6-7 litres at such speeds. Like pretty much any other petrol car of this power margin at this speed
Ambient lighting above the gearshift, door panels etc?
Yes 👍
How’s the sound insulation at high speed ?
It is fine 👍
@12:32 the gear shifter? Isn't it an eCVT that only emulates the sound of gears through artificial sound?
Yes true 👍
@@SDADanCars Can you deactivate this artificial sound?
@@SDADanCars I like the sound but still is there an option to deactivate it?
I really like how the new 2022 Civic looks. The only thing I wish Honda did is giving the customer a choice between a Hybrid or a combustion engine. I drive a long time with my cars, and my concern is the Hybrid battery life after 7 years.
Idk where you are, but in the US, to be able to sell a hybrid car, the battery must last minimum 100k miles. I suppose Honda being a Japanese brand the standard 100k is default.
I think battery should last for 10 years easy....you never know...it can be even more like on prius
@@mind2adaptor and why is that the case?
It’s a pity you can’t get the black headlining from the Sport trim in the Advance trim…
Yes 😪
I actually wrote to Honda (not the dealer) about it and still waiting for their reply
This car is very nice but after 100km/h there is too much noise more than 68dB... So the isolation is not too good...
Thanks for feedback 👍 🙏
I have a new crv hybrid with set up as the Civic can you stop the car, leave it in drive or reverse ,and just switch off the power button mine seems to put it into park when you do this am I doing something wrong. This was the system I used in my Peugeot 3008 when shutting the engine off
Whats the road noise like?
It is good 👍
Lovely car 😍
Yes 👍
Is there any lag in the CVT?
Not really…
It’s not a cvt, It doesn’t have a gearbox.
Can I ask you, how tall are you?
To get a reference for the overhead space left by the panoramic roof.
1.73cm 👍🙂
Could you also test drive it in a dense city with lots of idling and stop and go traffic? I think that's the great advantage in fuel consumption of the 2.0 e:Hev vs the old 1.5 liter turbo engine.
Yes I will try 🙂👍
Did you test the car consuption and behavior at speeds like 150km/h?
Not yet 😪
It does look quite spacious inside. I am surprised, does not look it from outside.
Yes 👍
A question on safety operations - what happens if you press Park/Reverse/Neutral whilst in Drive mode? Does it ignore or warn or cause some fun times to happen?
It will ignore it 👍
@@SDADanCars Comforting to know! Thanks mate!
Yea true 👍
Hye, SDA Dan Cars, nice review! For your opinion: which car drives nicer and has better sound isolation - Peugeot 308 or this Honda Civic? What could you say if some people compares this two cars? Thank you.
Oh Arnas ....so hard ...both have good sound insolation almost similar. I think Civic will be more economical....now is hard to say...both are great
Is there a big difference between Corolla and Civic cruise control? In Civic, there is reportedly no distance radar that the Corolla has. I want to buy one of these cars and I can't decide.Your reviews are always the best. thanks
What is the average fuel consumption rating for this car? I know you're getting 5.1L for your test drive but curious to see what Honda rated as.
Actually 5.1l is also Honda official numbers
@@SDADanCars wow, nice. Do you know what it is in mpg? Probably 46 mpg
Hello! Does it also have the Hold brake feature? thankss
Yes 👍
I wonder is there more sound insulation in this EU model vs the US model? The US reviews highlight the road noise..
...not sure
Hey Dan. Honda Civic or the Toyota CH-R?
Civic 🙂👍
Great video man! Do you know if this is coming to the US?
Thanks for feedback 👍 for sure will come
Are hybrid cars actually more economical in long term than regular ICE if a battery change is included? Let's say you want to keep the car, do about 15k km per year and battery needs to be changed in 10 years or so which can cost anywhere from 2k to 8k. This means all your fuel saving from hybrid might mean nothing and you might even end up paying more for the hybrid in the long term? What am i missing here?
I think yea on long term
how come the speedometer is linear and not the round meter like in other videos. Is this a setting?
Dario are 2 types of cockpit
It’s a Civic man of course it’s good
👍
Я думал это Honda Civic, а это Хонда Чивик оказывается)))
👍
Probably will be my new car
Nice 👍
Is there a way to disable these fake gear shifts and drive it like a real e-car with continuous torque?
Not sure Hans👍
@@SDADanCars thanks for your reply! Guess i have to find out myself with a test drive in a few weeks
Having test-driven it yesterday, it's as smooth as you can imagine/ However, the floppy-paddles are a boon to change torgue for old fogies like me who still prefer to use the manual "gearbox" rather than automatic to and brakes to slow down on hills! Nice touch, Honda!
Fake gear shift is only in sport mode
Thanks for the great review. I am about to buy a Corolla Touring Sport, is this a better car? It would be my daily commuter for work, 17 km each way. I have a diesel mhev XC60 for long trips. Thanks!!
Both cars are great and you won't regret....try Both and see which you like more
deci civic e mult mai rapid, face suta in 7 secunde, 6.5 in modul sport.
pentru o masina care scoate 3.5l/100km in oras, e foarte foarte bine

Mostly tyre noise, a bit of wing mirror noise, but far better than previously? Put the radio on and you won't hear it! The lack of noise generally will blow your mind!

Just to make something clear its not faster than 10th gen civic 1,5 t. 0-100 its faster but after that no ! Its limited to only 180km/h while the old one could push to 220 km/h . Its also a heavier car than previous one …

People forget that this civic has a CTV transmission
Yes 👍
No it doesn't, there is no gearbox, research it for a full explanation.
I think you meant CVT.
@Greymark There isn't a CVT in this version? I want to know because I believe this version is coming to the states later on this year and I would like to check it out.
@@peruvianheat2053 Sorry for the late reply. The gears are simulated through the speakers and there is no CVT gearbox. The wheels are normally driven by the electric motors, if you are overtaking the engine and motors work together. On a motorway the engine will be used exclusively via a clutch system.I have one the Advance model ( coming from an FK8), probably the most refined and fun Honda i have driven and i have had a few.
@@pillred5974 Whats wrong with Fast and Furious? I'm 60 and driving a Formentor VZ. Cars are like clothes, if you like to dress nicely they have to have style and design. If you don't care you can buy a new Civic. This is a grandpa car no matter what, I would be quite surprised to see any people under 40 buying this new one, Honda clearly shows they are not interested at this age market with the new Civic but the one over 40 and especially the North American and Chinese market. Its price also shows that. The new one will be quickly forgotten, has nothing to show for, the previous one will be a classic soon.

The Civic has been out since the 1970s and is an extremely popular car. Mazda 3 hatchback, but if this Čivic was on sale in 2019, I would have had a hard time choosing between them.
Yes ...the problem is that in many countries they pronounce it different....and I get use with it .....
