    That big block car is worth putting the money into to fix more than your small block one is, especially if that is the original numbers matching 4brl big block.. That intake alone is seriously rare being a factory aluminum 4brl intake, typically the rare time you had 4brl intakes they were cast iron.

    The roof is in much better shape. My first car was a 64 4 door. God, I wish I had it. Warning...if it is manual steering, it can be very hard to steer. You have such a fun life, great friends, and, a great attitude. You don't even act like lots of people in CA. I like Ripon, and Salinas. And, around the Dalton Sea.
    Those Galaxies usually rust in the low rear quarters, wheel , the top front headlight "hood". I have never seen one rusted on the roof in my life. I had the 352 with the Cruise O Matic. The original color of your red car is exactly the same as mine was. Mine was crushed 20 years ago...floorpans and roof were perfect.
    I agree with your plans. You are a smart guy with common sense in what you do. With cars, the original plan usually gets changed.

  • @morgansword
    @morgansword 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It makes tons of sense to me plus once done switching pieces, all the less value parts from original car can go on this and have value once sold. Old wheels then make a car a roller and they are gone. I just makes sense. As you have shown many times the wiring on yours is a mess and since this is a runner, it just might make wiring yours with the spaghetti mess easier. One way or another once finished it will be someones dream. I may be odd but liked the original dash gauges over a stewart warner thing but if its yours then you have something to mock it up in then transfer it in one piece. No matter who said its cake, replacing a whole dash is fun as dating the mom and wishing it was the daughter. I do like those aftermarket wheels, sure if I was at the store I might pick something else like old school americans... the big five spoke flat magnesium of the day cause its more period correct. I sure wish it had been a console bucket seat model but not a deal breaker. That motor in the shop can be a spare for your truck and as long as you have a spare will never need. I would rather have dust than hard work on a weekend I wanted to go jet skiing. Whey to go Craig and when you feel the power of a big block your spoiled for life

    • @Thecraig909
      @Thecraig909  4 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @SweatyFatGuy
    @SweatyFatGuy 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Man, that thing is minty. Don't part it, keep it as is and run it while you rebuild the red one. Fix what it needs to be reliable only, and run it. Then when the red one is done, you can find a 390 or 428 crank and pistons to match, it turns a 352 into a 390 or a 410 respectively. 390 stuff is a bolt in deal. Its fun to drive them when they're unpretty. Its no worry stress free cruising. The white one is nicer than the red one... roll that thing man. That patina is great.
    Careful though, you will end up like me with several acres of land, a decent sized shop, and 50+ vehicles to build. Then you'll wonder which ones you will actually get to. You'll only get enabling from me and guys like me. It never ends...

      @@Thecraig909 It sneaks up on you and then suddenly you count them all up, remember a few a couple days alter, and you're like holy shit, I have 50 cars and trucks. From the first one I got in 1982 to the Suburban I gotta pull out of a snowbank so I can use it to pull the trailer and road trip with my dogs this summer, its been a long time.
      I have to remind myself that most people don't have a pile of engines and transmissions to rebuild. Storage becomes almost as important to you as the cars and a place to work on them.
      Keep making videos, I am sharing yours, Viktor's and Matt's when I see you guys post them. If you were into Pontiac I have a huge network that would watch. Having a shop you aren't going to get thrown out of because you own it free and clear allows you to do more. Its worth working towards.
