One thing I love about my bike is the lockable luggage. The panniers are so easy to remove. Got to go hard luggage mate.

I went from 30yrs on Harley's to a GS. Absolutely love it. Much more comfortable, easier and nicer to ride and better at everything than my Road-King. Miss the whole HD thing, but not sorry I moved on. Vario luggage is excellent.

What a year of moto adventure it will be! I highly recommend lockable hard luggage for big adventure trips. Easy to keep secure and super quick to remove/put on when you are on the road. Having said that, soft panniers make it a softer landing and less damage if you hit some outback gravel/bull dusk/sand and the bike wants a nap (speaking from experience!). Can't wait to follow your adventures!

I got the same bike, same pipe, just the Vario top box instead, and a phone mount adapter (ridiculously expensive) to use my phone as GPS. Only got 3000km's on it so far but loving it. Keep up the good work.

Hey Mate. First time watcher and really enjoyed the video. If you're ever in Canberra, in the warmer months I'm sure 😅, make your way to Kita Kafe in Narrabundah. 6pm to 6am. Only overnight cafe in Canberra and the only place to get a coffee after 9pm. On top of that, I think you have sold me on getting the new triple black to replace my Diavel 😁 Stay upright 👍🏼

Love it mate, I know Lone Rider do rackless Motobags, they're looking pretty good and you can secure them. They're also semi-rigid so if you come off and get a let stuck under them, you won't break it!
I got my crash bars from MAP, they're a great bunch and have been awesome with everything, I also highly recommend their gear!
There's so much selection, I'm sure you'll find the right gear. I love the SW Motech tank bag, very keen to consider one of those!

Just seen this review, love it. I'm about to sign up for a GS in triple black tomorrow and was looking them up TH-cam then found your review. That Hepco and Becker top box is spot on - I'll look into that. Ive got a 30 litre Kreiga bag that I'll pop in front of it on the pillion seat for when I need more storage space. Cant stand the panier frames either.
Coincidentally my last bike was a Kawasaki Z900rs Cafe and I just realised it was your review of it a couple of years back that convinced me to buy it!

Great review mate … can’t go past a big adventure bike as an all round tourer. Panniers … I have always preferred the aluminium with the ugly frames, but the BMW Vario panniers work well mate if you want to maintain the lines. Should Mount straight on to what you have there already.

Hell yeah! The more I see these bikes the more I like them. Do you watch Baron Von Grumble? He just did a massive trip on one and it just looked perfect. I'd not really considered a GS before but these days it seems like the perfect bike for a) long trips and b) loading up with gear c) still being fun as fook! I'm definitely going to test ride one, but also what to try out the S1000XR. For my upcoming Portugal trip the two best rental options are GS or Tenere. I guess I could do both...

Nice bike. Got an Indian Roadmaster, great bike as long as you keep it on tarmac and don't slow down :)
Even then we are looking at 650Kg 2up when touring, and its a handful when parking. The other thing that annoys me (didn't think of that when I bought it) is that I am limited to tarmac ONLY and as you know there are at lot of destination (waterfalls, lookouts etc etc) that I have to miss out on.
So at the tender age of 60 I am considering options....like what you did there.
    Also subbed !
