We’ve got an 800 gas, the O-matic transmission is definitely handy. Makes raking, planting, and pulling full gravity wagons nice. You don’t get the constant jerking around when taking off, start off at idle, push the foot throttle until you get moving good, let off throttle and lock the converter. Then set your throttle to desired speed.
All good , in hindsight , you brought the oil pressure up , and lubed an engine that had sat for years , prior to a full start. Plus viewers learned from your step by step actions. That is a gorgeous Case 930 , glad you found it , bought it , as well as giving it the TLC it deserves !!
i completely agree with your thoughts to polish and wax fhese old tractors , especially when the original paint is this nice. At shows the nicely repainted units look great , in my opnion , if a tractor is weathered quite bad , sanding them down and a repaint is ok as well... a time and a place for either approach perhaps.
The 930 with the square fenders was built from 65 to 67: I have a 61 930 diesel with round fenders that you get on from the rear, mine has the fuel tant in front of the instrument panel. Also by turning the key counterclockwise it engages the glow plugs. These engines don’t like ether, and l detest the damn shit. Good luck, it sounds good. Also when the tractor sits, place in neutral and engage the clutch, to lube the throw out bearing
The power steering cylinder has a manufacturing flaw from the factory. Take the cylinder apart and where the small hole is on the threaded shaft, cut the shaft at this point. You’d be removing about 3/8 of an inch from the shaft. Drill a new hole to accept a wire to hold the adjusting nut in place. Put the cylinder back together tightening the adjustment nut enough so that hydraulic fluid doesn’t leak. Put the end cap on. You will find that with one finger, tractor not moving, you’ll be able to turn the front wheels fully in both directions.
It is in really good shape a 930 with working lights is like a binder with dash lights it almost never happens. You can add fluid to the “power” steering reservoir with a 1L or 1 quart bottle it really isn’t that bad not while running by the way. Even with oil and the belt tight you won’t mistake it for a 4020 but if you’re moving it kinda works. The wet clutch is one of the best parts of those tractors I’ve heard stories of guys using 930s on a pull type combine slipping the clutch in a heavy crop all day long without consequences I’ll bet their left arm was real good at the end of the day. Very popular tractor around here 30 years ago lots of them running feed mills, big augers, plowing snow etc. A crude but fairly solid tractor they’d even start in the winter if you had ether if you didn’t you went to town and got some those old girls are all pretty much done now including the two I had twins to the one you’ve got 6 speed hand clutches pto’s though. The one you got is almost like a virgin mine were more like Asian street whores. Anyway good luck not sure what you’re going to do with it, but I enjoy watching your videos.
I ran a 930 and a 1030 a few times when I was a kid. I never cared for either of them. I would always run the 4020 or the 1256 if I could. Those Cases were always such a clumsy tractor to me. Alot of guys liked them though.
We’ve got a 930CK around here, power steering definitely leaves more to be desired despite tractor having been restored. Our’s doesn’t have a hand clutch though. Not a fan of the shape/location of the fuel tank, makes it hard to see the 3-point, and impossible to see the hitch.
I farm 170 acres of hay in Alaska with its twin +pto Crude by todays standards but as reliable as a Swedish anvil Fixed pwr streer resivior acess with a hole saw and a long funnel The hand clutch mdl would make a good lead tractor in a tandem setup
I’ve heard about using starting fluid to air tires but that’s the first time I’ve seen it done 😁. Someone took care of the old girl , don’t see many that straight .original paint is going to clean up nice . Nice find .👍
Self exciting altinstor once you revved it a bit the generator light went out. Self exciting altinators Won’t start charging till they see about 1200 rpm then they kick on
Would the hand clutch be an 830 -930 western series standard? I've been around some 830's and 930's and I don't think they had hand clutches. Are the brakes disc or band brakes? AL B.
Have a 69 932 needs a littlr tlc but runs good has a three point. 8 speed high low range. Needs power steering pump leaks out the bottom shaft for pulley drive. Brskee are shaky needs a new manifold exhaust gasket. Has an after market cab on it. Anyone interested its for sale.
@ I realize it isn’t live but I was still yelling at the tv open the throttle for F sake. On a 930 if the throttle actually kills it won’t give full high idle the loud peddle will give another 100 rpm. Case was a little short on refinement in the 50’s and 60’s no cash almost broke. In spite of that I kinda liked my old 930 and most people did kind of like being married to an ex prostitute ya know what ya got. They gave pretty good service without much in the way of TLC, you could neglect them and beat them a little and they’d come back for more. 930’s were good too. And a 930 with a leaky water pump I don’t believe it. Stay well. Ps I’m looking forward to seeing the silver mud bug cutting milo whatever the hell that is. We also ran silver seeder N6 like yours suckers for punishment I guess.
😊😊 U should've bleed the injectors and the injector pump diesel engines won't run when there is air in fuel system there should be only clear fuel no air bubbles at all some times U have 2 a 12 volt fuel pump 2 push the fuel once it's bleed it should run on its own 😊😊 OMG 11 17 2O24
Maybe you can come across an elderly person with a minty low hour propane sitting in a closed up barn... just waiting for someone like urself to resurrect it
Why does youtube allow this type of content, What exactly is the point and purpose of your content? You just seek out individuals who are elderly and then you what?
Love seeing giant come to life, what a beast of a tractor
Truly is.
It’s amazing how good of shape it is in, looks brand new , deserves a good bath and a spot in the shed
It’s headed to iowa.
That old girl is in nice shape! We had a '67 or thereabouts 930 row crop that I drove a lot as a kid. It would outpull our 4020. Nice find!
They really are a great tractor. Not quite as comfortable or loved as a 4020 is but they really do have a good following.

Just have to go through all the regular procedures

People really flock to good original paint of patina tractors I’ve found. I also don’t feel so bad about using them.
Nice 930! I learned to disc and plow on one back in the 70's. I thought it was huge!
They definitely are a workhorse

Great tips
Great Find, probably spend most of its life in the barn. Thanks 😊
Definitely been in the shed almost all its life.
Thats going clean up great!
I hope so!

I don’t think it’ll be here that long.
Very nice tractor great video 😊
It sure is! Thanks for watching.
What beautiful 930. From the physical size it should be 300hp. Keep up the good work. Boe
Thanks 👍

about have to be rolling to steer them old cases 💪💪💪 Armstrong power steering😮
You’re not wrong.
Good find!
Thanks
You should find out about that combine in front of the tractor
I bought the motor off it. It’s already been cut up for scrap.
If you can get that steering dialed in it'll turn with your fingertips. Beautiful tractor
Might sell it first.
@tmonteIH it'll go fast I'm sure
I Have a 1032 Case Western. Been looking for a 930 or 932 like that one.
This one sold
I have a case 930 needs some work & batteries but need to sell!
Miss my1967 930 case
You can buy this one.
The throttle is the shut off on the diesel 930's the LP 930's shut off with the key
Figured that out.
Nice tractor
Thanks 👍

They definitely aren’t made for tight quarters.
930 pull circles around your 4020 with about 1/3 less fuel.
Ran them for years never ever heard of them pumps having a runaway
The 930's were good tractors
They still are great tractors. My Grandpa owns 2 of them.
Seem to be.
Spent many a summer on a 930 row crop cultivating
Happy memory?
Yes ?!? wasn’t the worst. I had a cab and radio. Easy job idling along.
A 930 was the big horse on the family farm in the late 60s
On a lot of family farms.
Wow ! Nice ole lady
Very!
Wash and wax look brand new
I think so!
Having poor power steering, sketchy brakes, and a hand clutch saved this tractor from ultimate destruction as a loader tractor.
Which is 100% the fate of most tractors of its era.
@@tmonteIH did you end up using starting fluid?

That clutch runs in motor oil, that is chain drive tractor, does that model have a decompression lever
Not a clue.
Very nice old 9:30
Thank you.
Silas at Adventures Made from Scratch is getting ready to crush one of those 930's. Was in yesterdays video
I’m not stopping him.
@tmonteIH I get that. I grew up driving the 60's and 70's era tractors, it saddens me to see them destroyed. You and Crazy D try to save them.
I farm 170 acres of hay in Alaska with its twin +pto Crude by todays standards but as reliable as a Swedish anvil Fixed pwr streer resivior acess with a hole saw and a long funnel The hand clutch mdl would make a good lead tractor in a tandem setup
If it wasn’t such a nice tractor I’d definitely use a hole saw.

It’s one hell of a find. Let’s just say it’s only first time using staring fluid on a tire.
Nice old tractor
Yes indeed!
What did you do to get it running smooth all of a sudden
More throttle.
The old comforter kings were good tractors had plenty of power for what they did but the brakes were crap hated pulling loaded wagons with them
Bad brakes and poor power steering for sure.
Self exciting altinstor once you revved it a bit the generator light went out. Self exciting altinators
Won’t start charging till they see about 1200 rpm then they kick on
Started harder than I thought it would. It’s a “runner” now.😅
Mostly my fault.
@ Yes, I think you should have opened the throttle sooner. Not a big deal in the long run.
@ lesson learned. Wasn’t wanting to give it to much fuel for fear of a runaway.
How many hp would that tractor be.
80-90 HP

I think it would be yes.
2hats that guy doing with combine
I bought the motor. The test was scrapped.

Price and location?
I have had a few of them case and that's how you kill them is pulling up on the pedal 😅😅😅😅
For gods sake open the throttle. You can always throttle down once it starts.
My bad.

Well when it fired right off the first crank I figured I didn’t have to worry about bleeding.
Pull the throttle down
Figured that out.
Dad 930 was propane
That would be kind of fun.
