The trick is only for switchin on off.
If you have ir blaster in your phone then you can use mi remote app to control your ac . If your ac model is available on the app you will be able to control your ac. And there many apps available you.can try.

Bro in some models same button is also used to turn off ac. You can try it the same way to turn of.
1. If press and hold doesnt work then try to press 3-5 times frequently fast.
