"To some, sighting a hummingbird signals that challenging times are over and healing can begin. To others, these tiny fliers are an inspiring sign of hope and good luck. Hummingbirds also can have a spiritual significance and mean the spirit of a loved one is near."
Happy you did this track. Marko has an amazing voice. Saw them first time 15 yrs ago and again last year. There is many good songs from this session. It was done during lockdown. 👏
marko truly can teach how to speak/sing perfect english. amazing voice and pianist and everything. thanx to great reaction and have wonderful weekend. my skin is my home is also very good saying.
...POTF's songs "War", "Late Goodbye" and "Where do we draw the line" are epic, as are their acustic Alexander theatre plays, which are worth checking out too 🤘🙂👍
I suggest if you have not heard it, listen to the album version... just to be surprised how different it is. I heard this version first and then was stunned.
Thank you for your reaction. I had to admit, I was a little surprised, that you had the same approach to this song as I have and also understanding the simple but yet to every human a big thing in their life, a moment, an flick of an eyey, when they can feel something great, no matter if it lasts or not.
Alexander Theater was the venue for Finnish National Opera from 1919 'til 1993, when the new Opera House opened. The acoustics are good enough for opera - and POTF.
The songs Dreaming Wide Awake and Lift are excellent songs from POTF Alexander Theatre Sessions (well all are, but I love these especially). highly recommend checking out.
That FFDP reference... when I first heard them (or first that I remember) on radio, not sure what song it was, at the beginning I thought "Oh, new Poets Of The Fall song?". And when the chorus kikced in, I was so confused 😂. They don't sound exactly the same (the singers that is), but their clean tone is veeeeery similar.
Thing about this 'theater sessions', everything had to be as minimal as possible because Covid restrictions was on, almost whole world was closed. That's why this performance is so "personal".
That moment when you're so talented that your unplugged acoustic sounds like it was highly mastered in a studio. I have a hard time believing that they need to touch Marko's singing a lot other than for specific effects. Rumors say that the companies behind auto-tune software developers uses Marko's singing to tune their software.
You really should react to Daze mv and Lift mv, and Carnival of rust and Lift live from their Moscow concert 2013 and Requiem for my Harlequin mv from their latest album last year. Also, if you want to add another great live vocalist to the list: Dimash Kudaibergen from Kazakhstan. Just listen to his version of Lionel Richie`s Hello, he performed in China 2018. Insane. There`s no one like him. And he was only 23 years old at the time.
I'm new to Poets of the fall, what a rabbit hole I've fallen down
Finnish guys just have so much depth.

I used to work with The Captain aka pianist in this vid.
I love your ability to put into words features of music that are hard to put into words.
You NEED to check their song "Hello Cabaret"!!
My dear Poets, loving them till I die
