    Im waiting for my second machine and can't wait to learn how Rotary works.. I had trouble with shading and I hope I will get a new boost on learning by this new beauty..

    So, rotaries are not a new thing by any means. The main reason people use em in my opinion is because learning to properly tune a coil takes a long time.

    do you think there is a difference between coil and rotary in shading? thanks love youre videos

    • @athomastattoo
      @athomastattoo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not massively tbf, the main differences is the weight of the machine and the vibrations etc. All machines have the ability to do an amazing job with the tattoo. Some might work better for your hand speed etc. For me it’s rotarys all the way.

    Hi Adam, thanks for the video, very informative. I got a bit confused, which machines give you the better healing rotaries or coils? Cheers

    Great insight Adam 👌 How long were you using a coil machine before you were comfortable with a rotary?

    • @athomastattoo

      Think it was about 2-3 years ish I was using coils. Then had a slight cross over period with rotarys. Been just rotary for about the last 4years.

    Interesting! Although rotary machines reduce the amount of work due to their technological advancements, I want to strictly use coils because of their historical significance in this trade.
    Will I, eventually, transition into a rotary machine? Absolutely. However, as an artist, I want to demonstrate versatility in my craft.

    It's like a coil machine is like playing an acustic guitar, and electric is the rotary,

    A coil machine can line like no other rotary the rotary machines seem to shade alot smoother .....but u can do all ur work with either

      For sure brother. Have a lot of time for my coils. But as a go to all rounder it’s rotarys for me 🤘🏻

    Are roatry less painful that coil???

    • @jadeahn4288
      @jadeahn4288 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they are. but some of 'hitting type rotary machines from Dan kubin's, and Hybridmachine's and others are strong as coil as well. if you working with big needles, you definitely want to use Dan kubin. but it's one of the most expensive machine in the market rn. so the coil machines are might be the best option for you if your budget is tight. its way much cheaper than the rotary machines and power granted.

      I'm oldschool tattooer and I'm using 13 RS for my main needle. I'm using sidewinder V3R from Dan kubin for liner. and Stingray for shading and color packing. V3R pushing big needles like a dream.

    Coils break down and you can easily repair or rebuild them without breaking the bank, pen machines cost double to buy and more to repair

  • @rickveaks1546
    @rickveaks1546 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Can’t build your own pen style or most rotary machines. There are ways to cut down weight on a coil and cut down vibrations as well.

    Rien vaut une bobine 🧵 😅 même le poids permet de tirer bcp plus droit , malgré c’est inconvénient de douleur de poignet…. Bcp de monde ne savent pas régler leur rotatif on bcp de problème avec les doublures ! Une coil réglée et ce n’est pas dur c’est la base du tatouage ! Trace comme jamais , donc désoler ça restera les meilleurs sauf il en faut plusieurs pour chaque type de travaux qui faut effectuer mais elle le fera à son maximum pas une rotatif qui est polyvalent qui fera 50-60% du travail c’est mon point de vue
