On April 29th, I will be playing this song at my school as not only my final in my guitar class, but as a way to honor her memory. But that's not all. It will be my first ever performance since I first learned to play guitar over three years ago. So thank you for once again giving me the inspiration I needed to do something so important to me.

Which is evident by how I fucked up the strumming pattern at the very start of the video but then corrected it a couple seconds later. I could have fixed it but my lazy self said "Ehh not a big deal." but looking back at it, I hate that I did that. Thanks again.

Just use an actual microphone and not a camera Mic and you're set. I use a Blue Snowball Mic. I also double track the guitar and pan one track hard left and one track hard right.
Final Beta in your ashes of eden cover, that sound that you got when your were strumming was really good. I'm just stuck on how you did that. It's like you can only hear the pick hitting the string, and the rest harmonizes so well you can't really hear the notes.
All I really did was face my microphone more towards the neck of my guitar and less towards the sound hole and I added a super small bit of treble and reduced the bass. That's the best way I think to get that strumming sound you're talking about.
I like this one. The exact strumming pattern is off in a lot of places which is why it sounds clashy, but I've tried it too, it's hard to get it spot on.

They look loose because I was strumming pretty hard because I wanted my Mic to pick up the sound as good as possible, also because I had the exposure on my camera very low so it shows vibrations in the strings that is hard to see with the naked eye. Anyway, good luck. I'd give you tabs but I don't have any. Lol And I suck ass at writing tabs. =(

sounds great. Do you do any singing? When I do this song, I have to change the key because I can't hit those high notes comfortably. If you ever plan on playing with a band (Which you should!) you should practice changing key to match the register of your singer's voice. But that's just my experience. I'm sure you don't need advice.
I sing but I've never made a vocal cover and posted it. And you're right. I'm the exact same way. When I sing this I have to lower the tuning down to DROP B. I can barely get away with it in C but B is way more comfortable to my voice. And I'm glad you liked it. :)

what's the strumming pattern
sounds great. Do you do any singing? When I do this song, I have to change the key because I can't hit those high notes comfortably. If you ever plan on playing with a band (Which you should!) you should practice changing key to match the register of your singer's voice. But that's just my experience. I'm sure you don't need advice.
I sing but I've never made a vocal cover and posted it. And you're right. I'm the exact same way. When I sing this I have to lower the tuning down to DROP B. I can barely get away with it in C but B is way more comfortable to my voice. And I'm glad you liked it. :)

DROP C#. Which is basically the same thing as DROP D flat. C#.G#.C#.F#.A#.D#. If you're in drop D then just tune down your guitar by a half a step.
