Mazda just designed a new straight 6 too. Companies are bringing reliability back.
Isn't really necessary anymore tbh...these are just as if not more capable as a HEMI V8 and gets better mileage. People who buy a truck do things with them and don't necessarily care what it sounds like and the I-6 Hurricane won't hinder what customers want to do with them.
They were underpowered and very problematic. The new Straight six is designed to go 500k and have a ton more power and torque. Nobody will miss their slow 5.7 Hemi.
Exactly...idk why people are so stuck on the HEMI V8 engines that are very very old and outdated. When you have a Dodge Hornet R/T with nearly the same amount of torque with a 4 cylinder/hybrid why would you ever want something old and tired under the hood? If you buy a vehicle just for the sound then I'll just laugh at you. I wish I had money to piss away like that. We may see a shocker new V8 hybrid as some are now mentioning but it remains to be seen what it is, what it'll be in and how much it'll cost. Men with small hands will be buying this like hot cakes off-roading to local Walmart for groceries.
So you will be getting one🤔🤣
@@atg1338 Unlike you, I have very big hands, so I drive an older Prius C.
Isn't that every truck now? All these expensive land yachts costing 80-100k+ new with lifts and etc, that only get used to get groceries or to get kids from school and rarely see a spec of dirt on them.
@@carboydorifutoparty3976 exactly my point. People need to compensate for their fragile ego in some other way. Minivans are much better, efficient, comfortable and affordable, but so many men are scared of looking boring driving them.
@@00_UU I never really understood people calling minivans boring or saying "they'd look like a basic parent with a minivan" and go to the side and think buying one of those land yachts for 30-40k more than a minivan is better, with worse visibility and gas mileage. I guess it's me because I could care less about people's opinions if I'm saving money in the process.
Stop complaining about prices, trucks are expensive and these will be sold like crazy!
sweet looking truck besides the corny decals. wish they'd come out with an offroad package in the electric version
don't think I heard it before but will this motor be ok with 87 or 85 octane or will it need the 91 + ?
Ty for sharing the vid.
I believe the standard version will run on 87, the high output requires premium.
They said premium recommended not required for high output
@@steinjosh1 recommended because anything less than premium will gum up those turbos over time, or so I've been told by Wagoneer people that have been using it for a few years.
@@Kainis80 that’s just silly
@paulhunter9613 I don't yet drive an inline 6, so I don't know how valid it is. Just going by what some Wagoneer drivers that have, have said.
Bring back the STASH!
Two 400 volt power outlets, that's quite an inverter... 🤪🤪
I am just not sure that I can get on board with a twin turbo V6. This is the exact reason why I didn't go to a raptor before I bought the rebel.
Do headlights still have the daytime running LEDs around the outside of the light?
nope you only get that on the limited model now
Beautiful and packed truck, but the prices are simply too high (on all brands). The large screens and secondary screens are very nice, but the screens lose value as manufacturers require subscriptions after introduction. Still the Rebel is my favorite of all the fullsize trucks out there.
3.0L will be interesting in a truck. Like to hear more about their 'extensive ' durability tests.
why? Ford has a 2.7 and it's the most reliable engine in their line. The same for GM and their 2.7. If the 3.0 stinks it will be due to Stellantis being terrible at engineering.
These are the smallest engines in the other brands made for light duty with much larger displacements available. RAM is a great looking truck. I'm not sure I buy it with a 3.0L turbo.
@@jw8578 Yeah, turbos have only been mainstream since the 80's. 40+ years just isn't enough time.
I’ll keep my ‘22 Limited night edition with the mean sounding V8 with the mopar catback. Not much difference, and I enjoy the analog gauges with the led.
Sounds mean. But not mean at all.
@@ryanb8736 yes it is mean, they run with a 6.2 GM truck and the base 3.0 RAM wont be much quicker and they sound like a Civic with a fart can..
Remember a tune on a 5.7 with out run any 3.0 yes,yes I know they will tune the 6 but you still have a 6.
FYI:we put a cam and heads on a 2014 RAM 1500 Crew Cab Sport and it ran 11.98 in the 1/4 with a 5.7 Hemi...Kicker the truck has 3.21 and not the 3.92 rear axle ,if it did it would run a few tenths quicker.Customer is happy with the truck!
@@mypronouniswtf5559 6.2 GM is 100 times better than 5.7 Dodge. Only downfall is GM cylinder deactivation. Dodge makes better bodies and components.
Nothing to tune in a 5.7. You need to change heads and cams. Now won’t pass emissions. State troopers are cracking down on loud exhaust and forcing inspections to be done now. They are going after lots of trucks now.
They did same with diesel community. My friend had a YT channel and he got shut down and huge fines. Impounded his trucks too. He showed how to tune and bypass emissions.
We are losing our rights.
Agree I like my gauge cluster center digital with analog. I also prefer my 8.4 screen with functional knobs.
@@ryanb8736 How do you not understand how much nonsense that is? go to ANY manufacturer forum, and you'll see tons of people pissed about all kinds of things regarding their vehicle they purchased. Everything from fit n finish to mechanical etc. So you want 500hp and 500tq in a V8? well that comes with a mpg dip. Try to think things through in life buddy smh.
What I what to know is how reliable these new straight six engines are?
Are we going to be able to get the H.O. hurricane engine in any trim? This truck would be the baby TRX with that engine.
yep
Simply the best truck
RAM's always seemed to have the best sounding exhaust note. Guess that's gone now.
I prefer quiet to annoying rumbling and gurgling.
So no etorque similar to the one on my 2021 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi in this I 6 3.0 liter configuration?
Etorque was only usable to 30 mph anyway, only good for initial takeoff
Headlight and taillights look like were back in the 90s how do you make a truck look older?
My dream truck the ONLY 2 things I would change is change those ugly side mirrors and I would pick a Red or White exterior
I still would prefer the Hemi V8 cuz the Sound in that one is like a real Ram 1500 truck Voice for Muscular Motors.
RAM!👊🏻💪🏿👊🏾
Hopefully the leather dash doesn’t bubble up in this model. I have a 2019 Laramie longhorn and my dash is all bubbled up.
Would hope not as well. They updated the leather dash slightly for I think the 2021 MY so that it all fits better together. My ‘22 longhorn doesn’t look like it’ll bubble like my ‘19 did.
They got rid of the amber turn signal for the taillights smh🤦
Did you drive it? If so how is the power?
There’s an embargo on driving expressions. Feb 22nd is when people can talk about how it drives.
@@DeadAir21 Thank you
MPG: TBD
392 Hemi… less moving parts, no turbos, better mileage, less internal engine stress, greater longevity, endless aftermarket options, easy to source and cheap to replace. SST hurricane… crickets.
Us Rebel owners have been pounding the table for cooled seats for years! I own a white ‘21 Rebel with the Night package & full black leather interior (Full Stormtrooper vibes). Love it! But gve us cooled seats!!
I dig the return of the sst trim like the 90s ram and the blue color also but this hurricane engine I bet this engine has tons of problems waiting to unfold .
It’s already been out for two years in the wagoneers
@@CPO-kn5uo 3 now, and I haven't heard of any problems.
I like the idea behind a straight 6. But the truth is all Trucks are so over priced that the average household income can't afford them. I see Ram trucks sitting on lots all over my city, And most have prices marked down up too 12k! And they're still sitting on the lots!
What's the name of this color?
450 divided by 26 is just over 17mpg. Assuming that’s an average between city and hwy.
Lets HOPE ram did a better job at testing their turbo 6 than Toyota!!!!!!
I need the car and the colour code
I don’t like the front grille I wish they kept it the same
Bring back the 5.7 v8 😢
naw...it's a dinosaur
Been a Dodge/Ram family since 1989. I think my Classic 1500 Hemi will be my last Ram given the direction Stellantis is moving things.
Good luck buying any truck then. They are all going the V6 way. Plus the new V6 blows the old v8 hemi out of the water in every single category
@@willthorson4543 except price, easy of maintenance, sound, and real world mpg. Ford and GM are still offering V8 options. Have fun with the repair bill on that when the turbo cooling lines start to leak. Oh and fyi it’s an inline 6 not a v6✌🏽
@@vr4787 Inline 6 is a better design than v6 and v8 all day. People are just too sore to admit 🤷
I willing to bet the price is going to be 70k and after the dealer markups and fees it’s going to come to 85k for a Ram with no LED lights
No led😭😭😭 poor baby
No truck brand seems to be selling without incentives these days. Anyone trying to add markups will be sitting on them for a long time.
@@66skate They mark up new models when they first come out...Duh...then when they cool of they do discounts...DUH.... Trucks are the #1 selling vehicle....You hates are so pathetic and unamerican
Piano black in the cab of a pickup - what the !? Just stop it already
Gonna be full of dust and fingerprints and scratches within the first week lmao
Can’t believe they discontinued the hemi 5.7 :/
It had too many issues, underpowered, and terrible fuel. New Hurricane engines are straight 6 engines that are built to last. Lots more power and torque.
Straight 6 engines are the best design because no vibrations. They are also the longest lasting too. Easier to work in too.
Shocked that Ford got rid of their best straight 6 back in the day.
Mazda just designed a new straight 6 too. Companies are bringing reliability back.
😭😭😭
At least the engine compartment is the same size roughly, so we can put real power (V8) back in them. Screw the new weaker models
Can’t believe the v8s are gone
It's also funny how people are bitching about no Hellcats anymore yet there are literally tens of thousands on the lots right now just sitting there and dealers can't get rid of them. @@ryanb8736
It's only a matter of time until nobody will offer a V8.
1 mpg better than the 5.7 and needs premium I believe
Do manufacturers really need such long names for their vehicles?
Manufacturers need to listen to their customers, not the corrupt government.
The customers can’t fine the company like the government can
@@paulhunter9613 true, nobody has to buy that overpriced garbage either.🤣
When they have no customers where is the money going to come from to pay those fines?🤣

AMERICAN THOUGH IS GARBAGE. MY COROLLA WILL LAST LONGER THAN A RAM
It might be a good idea for ram to start selling the trucks because I see alot of lot rot right now going on
Blame interest rates. Plus the V8’s are slow and thirsty. These straight 6 will be more powerful and faster with better mpg.
Many are waiting to get this engine. So the V8 will be discounted now.
V8s are slow? What are you smoking? My 2022 does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. It's not a supercar but it ain't slow by any means.
If I'm buy German or Japanese I get quality, if I buy American I buy workshop bills. I'm into science, big fan of ramcharger technology, American low quality really scares me
Dunno if you noticed, but Nissan is getting out of full size pick ups, and the new tundras have their own issues.
