Please please please look at Chopin's 4th movement of his second sonata. I just realized it had a fauxbordon in it and i think there is many other devices you have covered. I think it would be an interesting video.
If you were living in Europe in the 1700s, there was a high chance you were a farmer. Actual education was only available to 10% of men and 1% of women. There was also lots of wars and religious persecution. No time for partimento. And I think Michael would agree that what he is doing is creative and different in our current era, but that what he's playing would not have been considered exceptional in any way at that time. The highly regarded musicians of 1700s Europe were certainly good enough to remember, but Baroque music, like any genre that has become popular, has many shortcuts for mediocre musicians to sound good.
