I have been making this for 40yrs.
    1 8oz bottle Russian dressing
    1 jar 18oz apricot preserves
1 pkg dry onion soup mix
1 large pack of chicken wings
Cut into pieces at the joints. Tips can be thrown away.
    Place in disposable alum pan.
Bake at 425, stirring every 15 min till edges get black and sauce gets real thick. About 1hr and 15mi.
I serve with rice and salad.
    EVERYBODY LOVES IT!

Hi Linda, I made this last night and all I can say is WOW! It was absolutely delicious, the chicken was so moist and tender and loaded with flavor. I don’t like dark meat chicken so I made mine with 3 chicken breasts cut in half and I cut the dressing and apricot preserves down to 3/4 cup each and it made the perfect amount of sauce. Thank you for posting this easy and delicious recipe!

I think I'm going to make this soon, but I'm going to dice up a red onion in the sauce. I think I'll serve it with rice, as you suggested. I can almost smell it. Yum.

I think this is fantastic! I do a yummy recipe very much like this and I believe it is delicious.
I buy 4cans of “un-cut” green beans. I just make little bundles o green beans wrap bacon around them then pan them all and pour a whole bottle of French dressing over the top then bake till the bacon crisps! Yummy 😋 this would work with that too! What a great 💡 idea!
You’re just a wonderful open book and indeed an inspiration!

I made this a few days ago. Didn't follow the recipe to a t. You do have to use equal amounts of the dressing and the apricot preserves though and the onion soup mix of course. Yes, it's yummy. I used chicken breasts.I'd cut back a few minutes for those because they cook faster.
I was tickled by Sam's response.

I can hardly wait to try this.!!!!! You got my mouth watering...LOL Linda... If you go to the $ store & get yourself a rubber spatula to scrape all the goodness out of the bowls & measuring cups you use in your cooking...you'll wonder how you ever got along without it....I started using one years ago...& I cant do anything in my kitchen without one....Seriously...!!! Hope all is good your way... Tell Sam thats what you want for Christmas... A assortment of sizes in rubber spatula's...LOL...

I can't even begin to imagine how convenient that must be. It must have been a big adjustment going from hundreds to just you...but you can make several ahead and freeze them in the proper size for you to save a night or 2 or 3 of cooking or for when you have company over. Thank you for your compliments!! God Bless, Linda

Take it under the broiler to darken the tops of the chicken the last 5 or 10 minutes. I hope your friends enjoy it. I hope all is well with you too Ted!! God Bless!!

When you get fatty liver disease from eating it, believe me you'll take it off. This type of fat was horrible looking but marbled fat does add to flavor. TFW God Bless, Linda

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Russian dressing, either. I think it will be great in this recipe, though. Can't wait to try it. I recently found a new way to make my pot roast using Italian dressing and a tablespoon of tomato paste. I recommend it. Anyway, thanks, Linda! May the Lord enlarge your territory and multiply your blessings as we head into 2020.

Is the name Apricot Preserves what you call Apricot Jam? Because that looks like Jam, there don't look to be any chunks or halves of Apricot in suspension in the jar. We don't have the Smuckers brand over here. I've never heard of Russian Dressing either, they did leave a lot of gunk on those thighs didn't they? Lazy suckers that day lol.

    • @Handsthatcook
      @Handsthatcook  5 ปีที่แล้ว

The label plainly said preserves....just small chunks of the fruit. You may have to look up a recipe for the Russian dressing...it shouldn't be hard to make....AND you're right about those thighs...they were full of large chunks of fat, ugh!!! God Bless, Linda

@@Handsthatcook I just wondered if it was a name thing or a different product all together. We don't have the same things over here that you have in the US.
