I never got the recipe from her tho because it was something she had off memory. Now I have a chance to make it again thanks to you. Its basically just like how she would make it and tastes fantastic

I made this cake today with my 6 yo granddaughter. She said GiGi , I’ve never made a cake before! I think she was so into it because it was a “you tube” recipe. I think she would’ve been too bored otherwise. She paused the video for me at certain points and so that was interactive as well. She enjoyed learning how to crack open eggs. That’s just a little behind the scenes info I thought I’d share. Now I’d like to share with you what my husband just said after eating a piece while I was gone. “That cake was A M A Z I N G!” He said it was better than German chocolate, his favorite. He loved how moist it was and wanted another piece.... thanks for the great day ! If I had your email, I’d send you a picture of my little one helping make her first cake.

That looks wonderful, but you shouldn’t fib to Sam. That is LOADED with sugar. The flour in the cake mix is full of carbs (i.e., sugar), there is sugar in the mix too, and sweetened condensed milk is full of sugar. The whole thing is a diabetic’s nightmare. My husband is diabetic and I can see his blood sugar going through the roof if he ate that. A bite now and then probably wouldn’t kill him, but it is full of carbohydrates. That said, at some point I plan to make this for some event, just won’t let the hubby eat more than a tiny piece.
When I told him there wasn't much sugar in it I had forgotten about the sweetened condensed milk that went into the icing. That being said, it was the only piece he ate...we've giving it to our neighbors and children. There is very little left (thank goodness!) so there was and is little to worry about plus the fact Sam pays no attention (and this is the truth) to his diabetes. He won't even take his medicine. You can take a horse to water but can't make him drink. I've worried about it all I can and can only hope he'll come to his senses. Thank you for your concern. I really appreciate it. TFW God bless!

Some recipes say until just combined and others 2 to 3 minutes or up to 5 minutes..follow these guidelines. I'm not sure how overbeating affects the cake. TFW God bless!

What effect does the long And fast beating have on the cake. Seems that would effect the texture of cake. The cake looks good.
