Fun fact: when the Doobies do this song they have 5 guitars and 2 drummers. These guys nailed it without guitars or drummers! This us so good and it's coming from a big Doobie Bros fan.
Yep! I've been wanting to hear a Doobie Bros cover for a long time, but wondered how Adam could cover 2 sets of drums and the full set of instruments the Doobies use. And...somehow they did it. Gotta say though I'd love to see a collab with the Doobies adding harmonies too (ala Elvira).
Just opened another window and watched and listened to the Doobie Brothers version. wile it was ok Home Free was 100 times better. I felt no need to dance with them. Home free has me dancing and clapping and even drumming movement with Adam. This is now on myy daily playlist with " Brother" and " Blue ain't your color"
I've loved the original by the Doobies since 1972.... and here FIFTY years later the boys put their own spin on it and I love it. Thank you for reacting to it and now go hear the original... you will be even more impressed by Home Free (if that's possible).
I’ve loved it too since it came out when I was in college. It’s such a iconic song from the time that I can’t imagine never hearing it! Guess I’m old! But we had some amazing music back then!
Home Free brings it hard just like they always do. My good grief!. Those harmonies, and bass and Austin's lead was awesome. Adam's beat boxing/vocal percussion was electrifying!. He just keeps coming up with new elements all the time. What a great song. Smiles all around for this super fun song!! Thanks for a great reaction!
An A Cappella Group singing "Listen to the Music". I know that I am not the only person to see the contradiction here. And they do an amazing job doing it. Thank you for the Post
Whoa! This was FANTASTIC! I remember the Doobie Brothers version of this song, but it doesn't hold a candle to this brilliant cover by HOME FREE! Thanks Dennis! Loved it!
I can't believe you don't know this song! 🤔🙃 it was before your time, but I thought it spanned the decades, it was huge! The guys KILLED IT!! But, of course right?! They're so freaking awesome! 🥰🥰
Great reaction! Seven more days until Tim Foust's birthday bash show. I have a VIP ticket as well for a few extra songs and meet and greet with Tim and hopefully Austin as well. Texas Hill, Chris Chatham and Jeffrey East I believe will also be there. Home Free upgraded another song.
Love this song! I graduated in '71 from high school so this is a BIG part of my growing-up years. Glad you like it, too. Btw....you do know Adam does not need a filter to make that mechanical drum beat, right? Listen to his older Drum Solo and you will exactly same thing in live show with his brother still singing with the group. He is the only beat boxer I listen to, since introduced to this group and judge all others by his sounds vs theirs. They are all great, though....specially VoicePlay's. I am only a subscriber, but want you to know I appreciate your content, your family oriented demeanor and courteous language usage. Rock on, King!
This was an excellent version of the song. Was so happy that Austin had the lead. His voice was perfect for it. Saw you on the premier of this morning. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song. But definitely you need to listen to the Doobie Brothers version.
One of my favorite 70s groups and my favorite songs. Homefree version is incredible! You’ll love the original as well. So Doobies do it in concert! Amazing harmonies in they’re on right! Love your channel!
Loved this song! Adam really killed it and was a blast to watch! There was a lot of Doo Do, Doo Do's going on and I thought... wouldn't it be cool if they added some Doo DooBIE Do's in there? Right? 😂
It’s always fun to see you have a good time with a reaction..and who better than HomeFree to bring out the fun! Live the voice affects and the rocking’ 60’s/70’s headband! And please sing it at the top of your lungs🤗‼️
I grew up on classic rock & am a big fan of the Doobie Brothers & had their albums. "Listen To The Music" was a big hit for them back in 1972. Love that Home Free is keeping this great music alive & introducing it to the younger generation. The guys did a really nice job of this song. Austin was great for the lead & loved the background harmonies of Rob, Chance & Tim. Adam killed it on the vocal percussion again. He always comes up with some new & interesting sounds.
This is simply excellent again!! ❤ I have been a fan of the Doobie Brothers for a long time. This song is just timeless. It still swings. Really something for Home Free. So great sung, so great harmonies, bone-feeling bass, But for me it's Adam who makes it truly phenomenal. He nailed it. The vocal percussion is just inhumane. So unbelievably good. For me the very best beatboxer/vocal percussionist/mouth artist there is. And I haven't even mentioned his appearance yet. He's so handsome. 😍 I do like that he has his hair a bit longer again and then with that bandana on.🥰 Love it💞 Love Home Free💖
Great reaction! It was nice to see you on the chat before the premiere. Can't wait for you to react to Austin's Georgia on My Mind that was also released today. Have a great weekend. :)
My new favorite! One happy lady here in South Georgia at Lake Seminole! I needed this one so much! Can't stop listening and can't get the smile off of my face!. Definitely will be blasting this during our cook out this weekend,! Sending love to the King Fam! ❤️😃🍟🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is soooo good. Adam killed it. Austin doing the lead was great and Tim with those low notes was awesome! Boys killed it again. Good reaction Dennis!!!🥰😍
Loved your reaction. You hit every point. And Adam, sheesh, he is amazing. I never paid attention to beat boxing before but now, when I listen to Home Free, I am focused in on Adam and the background sounds the others make. Home Free sounds like a band and sometimes and orchestra. Their vocals are insane with their range, their timing makes them sound like one voice, their harmonies are perfect and their production is genius.
Loved me some Doobie Bros and this song when I was in college. Watched another reactor to this song, very savvy as to percussion from the 60s/70s, and they felt that Adam very strategically nuanced his sounds to reflect the instrumentation from back then. (Highly doubtful my untrained ears would notice something like that.) No surprise given that Adam is known for his attention to detail and accuracy. ;)
The guys are amazing with this really fun and just makes you want to bounce with them. Yes Austin and Adam are great. Tim with the bass and Rob and Chance keeping the grove going. Thanks Dennis. Oh and the Doobie Brothers are very good also, I just have the Home Free guys in my heart.
Lots of people have tried to cover the Doobie Brothers but that is near impossible with multiple guitars and two drummers yet Home Free managed to do it by using the same effects that were used in recording like phasing echo reverb and more on the vocals giving it the same feel and energy.
So so good! I know the original artist that sings this song and you are right, it does not sound like this exactly! this song came out in the 70s and was good back then but this new HF modern take on it is awesome! I enjoy your reactions as you really do appreciate how talented all five of them are. I am so excited, I just bought tickets to their Sept. 15th show in Stockton, CA which is only a forty minute drive for me. Keep on doing your reactions, you are good at it and thanks.
Hey Dennis! You should've done a double up video Doobie Brothers v Home Free! Great original, you'll enjoy it but Home Free have done it yet again!!!!! I've been lead to believe that Home Free are touring the UK/Europe next year (tbc) and if they're in the UK, I'm really hoping and determined to get a ticket!!!!
I have a request. I would love you to react to Fallen Soldier by Nathan Fair . He is a friend of mine. He is Active Duty in Army. He wrote and performs it. You are so Patriotic I think you would enjoy it.
I can't anymore with Home Free! Just when I say, "that's the best" they say, hold on, buckle up, and here we go...
Chances are that your parents, or grandparents, rocked to this song. Great remake of a great song.
Fun fact: when the Doobies do this song they have 5 guitars and 2 drummers. These guys nailed it without guitars or drummers! This us so good and it's coming from a big Doobie Bros fan.

Adam is all that in just 1 freakish non human... 🤔🤣🤣🤣🥰
In fact, they had 3 guitars and 1 bass, and 2 drummers, I just saw the original video
@@raulnishizaka7909 Either way, if someone listened to this who had never heard of Home Free before, they'd never guess there were no instruments. lol
@@lindanearing4710 You´re right, sometimes it really seems that there are a lot of instruments being played
Ok, so now go check out the original by The Doobie Brothers. HF not only did it justice, they slayed it.
Look at Adam on the end when they are in front of the flag.
Looks like he is hitting that high note.
Home Free just slayed this song. The vocals, the arrangement, and of course Adam Rupp! That was an awesome reaction Dennis! Thank you so much! ❤🍟
I've loved the original by the Doobies since 1972.... and here FIFTY years later the boys put their own spin on it and I love it. Thank you for reacting to it and now go hear the original... you will be even more impressed by Home Free (if that's possible).

Home Free needs to do more classic rock covers...
I totally agree
Home Free brings it hard just like they always do. My good grief!. Those harmonies, and bass and Austin's lead was awesome. Adam's beat boxing/vocal percussion was electrifying!. My words exactly!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎼♥️🎶🎵🔥
Let the music play! Home Free is just the best❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
One of favorites by the Doobie Brothers!!!!! Home Free took it to another level!!! How fun!!!!!
Digging in my closet for my bell bottoms, love beads and daisy crown. Fabulous as always.
this should be a top hit on ALL music stations!!
Agreed
An A Cappella Group singing "Listen to the Music". I know that I am not the only person to see the contradiction here. And they do an amazing job doing it. Thank you for the Post
One of my favorites!! Love this!
Growing up on the original and liking the Doobies, the Guys have claimed it as their own again. New FAVORITE!
Whoa! This was FANTASTIC! I remember the Doobie Brothers version of this song, but it doesn't hold a candle to this brilliant cover by HOME FREE! Thanks Dennis! Loved it!
Wow as always with Home Free
I can't believe you don't know this song! 🤔🙃 it was before your time, but I thought it spanned the decades, it was huge! The guys KILLED IT!! But, of course right?! They're so freaking awesome! 🥰🥰

They seem to just get better and better
Had the privilege of meeting them in myrtle beach and they are so "normal" 😆

Class of ‘71 here too!!
Home Free killed this as usual. I saw the Doobie Brothers in concert a couple weeks ago. And I'm so excited I got Home Free tickets I can't wait.
This was an excellent version of the song. Was so happy that Austin had the lead. His voice was perfect for it. Saw you on the premier of this morning. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song. But definitely you need to listen to the Doobie Brothers version.

If you can sit or stand still listening to this you have no soul.
Another awesome song. Home Free is amazing.❤️❤️❤️

It's mind boggling when we realize...
This is 5 men. Just 5 men. 🤯😵💫😵🥰
I believe this was their first big hit. Many, many years ago.
Doobie Brothers always finish their encore with this one.
Loved me some Doobie Bros and this song when I was in college. Though I didn't remember most of it, there is no way I could forget that chorus. And yes they are very close sounding to the Doobie Brothers.
You are the first to react today. Austin Brown released Georgia on My Mind today also.
Great reaction, Dennis!
I'm wearing the same shirt! Love this song. Takes me back to my teens!
This song is a beloved 70s classic make better by Home Free.
Wow. Wow, wow!!!! LOVE IT!!!!
Kudos to all the guys but WHOA Adam!!!!! Adam is blowing me away

Awesome reaction! A total great party vibe!
Congrats on the sponsorship!

I have a request. I would love you to react to Fallen Soldier by Nathan Fair . He is a friend of mine. He is Active Duty in Army. He wrote and performs it. You are so Patriotic I think you would enjoy it.
