Falling interest rates are evidence of economic weakness, not economic strength. Every time the Bank of Canada lowers interest rates, they are telling us the economy has been mismanaged.
@ no she lost to John Aldag in the last general but he dumped the riding for a failed bid with the provincial ndp. She’s just very active, more so than Aldag, so it seems like she is in caucus from social media and her communications campaign I think.
I used to live in Fleetwood just up the road from you. I used to love going to Cloverdale. There was a deli there that made the absolute best teriyaki beef jerky I've ever had!
@@marcschouten3527 I think what happened was that Aldag forsaw his loss in cloverdale so he thought he will have his chance in provincial riding (maybe he thought it was a close election in BC and it wasnt a landslide conservative, so yeah) but glad he lost to Harman Bhangu
My hope is that neither the liberals or the NDP will receive official party status. Come on Canada we can do this. Only vote for Pierre. If they don’t get party status Canadians do not have to pay them an allowance.
Ya right.....right up until they accept the bribe for $250.00! Canadians are so easy to bribe........we come very cheap as shown many times in the past!

I live in Langley-Cloverdale, and I can tell you voter turnout is extremely low, and a lot of disenfranchised people here right now. Jansens signs were even up weeks before anyone else’s… It’s going to be a blowout.
My other comment was shadow banned. I'll try again. I had a look and the Conservative were at 53%, Liberals 27% and NDP 17%. I think it will be a big WIN for the Conservatives.
I could listen to the both of you talk about politics all day. You guys are nuanced and light heart'd, something that simply does not exist in the modern era.
Thank you both for your insightful and thoughtful analysis. Six months ago, after a year of bad poll numbers, what if the Liberals had called an early election? July 2023 Liberals projected 117 seats. By December 2023 it was down to 64 seats. By June 2024 Liberals still at 67 seats. Call the election, save what's left, be official opposition. This month, December 2024, Liberals projected to get 47 seats! What are the Liberals thinking? "You take the hint at some point." Great quote.
There is one massive difference between the race to replace Patrick Brown and the current Liberals when it comes to getting candidates. The Ontario PC's were going into government as long as anyone other than Tanya Granic Allen won that leadership. The Liberals are going out of power no matter who wins it.
Even if Trudeau is a good campaigner, I think people now see that he is all talk and no action. Also, we are all hurting and he has had nine years to fix things but he can’t get away with telling us how great he will be but nothing will change.
Could some of the negative polling on Doug Ford be within their own party? Meaning among right-wing voters who find him far too liberal for their own liking. Yet they have no other legitimate option but staying home.
He lost because he was a flip flopping, Red Tory fool. Lifelong Alberta Conservative voters such as my grandmother didn't even show up to vote because they didn't trust him at all.
I prefer the British system of having a by-election 6 weeks after the resignation. There's no reason to leave a seat without an MP or provincial representative for months on end. Legault is less safe than Ford because there's currently a volatile pool of voters that swing between the CAQ and the PQ (QS and the PLQ have very inelastic but relatively efficient voter pools right now) whereas the Ontario PCs have a relatively stable pool of voters and a divided opposition.
Fairly conservative person here but I would never ever support annexation or joining the United States. We should concentrate our efforts on making Canada better than it is now and I'd much rather go through some personal sacrifice to do that to get the books balanced and get some more common sense policies enacted.
I can understand somebody thinking that Musk or Trump commenting on Canada may be gratuitous or unwelcome, but imagine if they came out with Musk plucking a harp while Trump sang an eulogy of Trudeau
Correction for Ontario: Doug Ford will remain in power until a very likable LIBERAL leader comes by. The NDP and GP are avoided and villified by the general populace due to the corporate interests in Ontario.
Came back to remind me of your lines... I wonder if you are now still seeing those result as unconsequential. Everyone expected the conservatives to win by 20-30. Yes indeed... but 50 points 😅...
How is it these two can sound somewhat credible yet say something so dumb as the economy is getting better because interest rates going down and inflation is not increasing as fast with heavily biased metrics. The reason the inflation is dropping because we are broke so we have to curb spending lowing demand, not a supply increase you complete idiots. Secondly dropping the interest rates just stimulates increasing personal and government debt spending. You guys need to do better
The economy is getting better. It’s bad, but compared to during covid it is objectively better now. Interest rates being lower is better for removing pressure on people and they are still in restrictive territory, while in a recession they would be deep into relaxed territory to increase spending.
