I bought all these hot wheels and matchbox cars for my little cousins, nieces, and nephews for the holidays last year, but was told that they don't really like them.... So, of course, now you got me in the basement playing madmax with these things and my wife thinks I'm crazy.
I don’t think you’re crazy! I got into it for a little while and made an RX-7. It’s fun and there’s so much you can do with them that I would have never thought of if it wasn’t for some of these videos.
You're not crazy - it has been shown that if you are feeling stressed, playing with some toy cars for a short while, has a significant calming effect - similar to that of stroking a pet cat. It works, too.
I've been at work all day, dog tired, come in and kick off my shoes, start watching CrafsMan and instantly start smiling and becoming intensely fascinated by the project. Love you CrafsMan xx

I did something kinda like this as a kid after seeing Mad Max on TV. I basically just painted my Hotwheels and glued little nails and other brik-a-brak to them. So, I was excited to see this.^^

Wow! My son and I play, what we call, "body shop" .. we use temporary tattoos, sharpies, and my nail polishes. Whenever one of his cars gets beat up, they go to the body shop. Lol 😊 it's super fun!
I love tabletop wargames, but the pricegating some companies like to do (Looking at you Games Workshop!) make getting into em tough. But this, not only is it bout cars which, I'm a metalhead about, but it reminds me of the classic Twisted Metal series. And having a smooth dude like Crafsman make a vid on how to make cars like this is wicked cool!

The second part of the fun of Gaslands is making a track or arena to race in! You can really go crazy making spiked barriers and wrecked cars to drive around.
You get a like just for the opening. The mental image of the puppet dressed as Mad Max eating the beans made me laugh for the hole video. And nice work on the cars too. But the dad joke at the end killed me
What a terrific hobby for a father and son to share. You could even make cars look cyberpunk or steampunk depending on the fun things you attach to them.

I love how you kept that mean-looking metal one stripped and clean, and just stuck the spikes and bumper on it. Really stands out as a slick machine, makes you wonder what it's got under the hood that lets it compete with the other wasteland monstrosities.

I have straight up mixed dirt from my yard with clear acrylic paint and used it for texture. Sawdust, metal shavings, even cat litter (unused of course) can be used to create really interesting textures.Each one of these cars are a little masterful piece of art, my god! They're incredible!
A good way to get scratch details on things is by applying just a small amount of paint to the rough side of a kitchen sponge, and rub it quickly. A form of drybrushing i found to be really effective!

i am such a huge fan of post-apocalyptic aesthetics/games/movies this was such a huge treat to watch. I used to build jury-rig LEGO cars as a kid so they could blow up into pieces when they crashed or got shot
