(That embossing in the video was super experimental. I'm not sure if anyone really does that on Hot Wheels cars. If you do, definitely separate it to where you're only heating the metal body, or you may melt the wheels and windshield.)

I bought all these hot wheels and matchbox cars for my little cousins, nieces, and nephews for the holidays last year, but was told that they don't really like them.... So, of course, now you got me in the basement playing madmax with these things and my wife thinks I'm crazy.
I don’t think you’re crazy! I got into it for a little while and made an RX-7. It’s fun and there’s so much you can do with them that I would have never thought of if it wasn’t for some of these videos.
Then your wife thinks we are all crazy!

You're not crazy - it has been shown that if you are feeling stressed, playing with some toy cars for a short while, has a significant calming effect - similar to that of stroking a pet cat. It works, too.

I did something kinda like this as a kid after seeing Mad Max on TV. I basically just painted my Hotwheels and glued little nails and other brik-a-brak to them. So, I was excited to see this.^^

@@TheCrafsMan Ha^^ My parents didn't like me messing up my toys as they saw it. But they could still run the plastic Hotwheels tracks pretty good. I feel a bit inspired to pull them out of the storage at my mom's place, but y'know spiders and wasps and things. Appreciate your comment man^^

Wow! My son and I play, what we call, "body shop" .. we use temporary tattoos, sharpies, and my nail polishes. Whenever one of his cars gets beat up, they go to the body shop. Lol 😊 it's super fun!

I love tabletop wargames, but the pricegating some companies like to do (Looking at you Games Workshop!) make getting into em tough. But this, not only is it bout cars which, I'm a metalhead about, but it reminds me of the classic Twisted Metal series. And having a smooth dude like Crafsman make a vid on how to make cars like this is wicked cool!

I remember doing this almost 30 years ago for a game called Dark Future. Used something similar for a different game called Car Wars. Can't wait to play this game. I still have some of my old cars
Dark Future was definitely an inspiration for Gaslands! In the rulebook for Gaslands: Refuelled the author Mike thanks Gav Thorpe for lending him a copy of the old Dark Future rules haha

What a terrific hobby for a father and son to share. You could even make cars look cyberpunk or steampunk depending on the fun things you attach to them.
I love how you kept that mean-looking metal one stripped and clean, and just stuck the spikes and bumper on it. Really stands out as a slick machine, makes you wonder what it's got under the hood that lets it compete with the other wasteland monstrosities.
