Knight Rider! Now that's something I haven't seen in a long time. I remember that K.A.R.R's CPU is probably still buried in the sand somewhere so if someone finds him I guess he could come back.
Awesome job ‼️looks so so cool
Thank you for the DYI tutorial 👍
That is sick. Enhances the car, looks great & easy to install.👍🏽
Looks great 🎉
I LOVE IT ❤🤗😎
Certainly a better price than others I've seen
Messing around with the position of the Tesla AI camera will void the operation of AI driving. Tesla advises AGAINST doing this in their manual.
not liking how the extremities are so offset from the tail lights,
not shown in the video for obvious reasons.( 9:37 shows a hint of how bad this is)
It is tacky, addon, not oem.
Solve that so that the corners get to the tail lights level and it's a win.
I agree the angles he shows are deceiving, those corners are a deal breaker
100% accurate. That is a major design flaw. Makes it look like a Honda Civic aftermarket part. Designs needs improvement to look seamless with the oem tail light
Right you are! Plus quality is subpar and every product on Hanshow is expensive.
That’s really lovely hey
Now u need the reflector replacement lights in the bottom and you are set!
Just needs some ornaments, and it'll be perfect 👍
Model 3 performance doesn’t have the yellow plug to power the strip so what do I do?
I ordered one of these tonight. It's interesting that from a few feet back the bar looks almost OEM like it sits flush right between the inner OEM lights but in the video install I notice it actually sits right on top of those inner lights. Im not 100% sure how Im going to feel about that when I get mine installed. :(.
Does it block some of the rear camera view?
I measure the distance between my license plate and the existing truck latch and I only have 3/4” how thick is the light strip? I don’t want to drill new holes for the license plate
Would this wire up to the outside tail lights of my model 3 if I already have aftermarket sequential lenses installed and wired up with plug and play adapters? I also installed the bumper leds as well. Thanks.
No you just piggy tail it. If any further questions reach out to us at +1 (949) 826-6200
The adhesive has failed on mine. I replaced it with even better 3M adhesive and now that is failing as well. It seems that the light bar is warping from heat cycling and no longer fits the shape of the boot/trunk lid.
It’s truly a shame that the light bar didn’t hold its shape. I have since removed this from my car. I park in a garage and rarely have my car outside longer than needed for the drive I’m on. I was able to get a replacement bar for the cost of shipping, but I will not be reinstalling this kit.
This will be great for Europe also …if it didn t had the turn signal animation. You can lose your licence for that. Wish I could install this looks awesome
I think it will be posible to disconnect turn signal wire. I don't like turn signal animation eather.
Anyone know how to do this?
This is awesome! My only dislike is the fact that it's being held together by double-sided tape.
Surprisingly, the 3M tape is really really strong.
Buddy of mine installed an aftermarket carbon fiber spoiler and it was held on my 3M tape, it is really stuck on there.
It's been on the car for about 2 1/2 years now.
I did it a little differently, I fixed the bar with proper screws, a very clean job, used a proper riveted machine screw perfect fit
@@tariqqayyum6369😂
I heard from several people that the tape has failed. They replaced it with stronger tape which eventually also failed.
I am in Tampa Florida USA, and I have a new 2023 Model Y Performance, with the following Hansshow products: Xtreme tail lights, Fishbone bumper tail light, and Pilot light. I asked my sales person once if I could get this full Knight Rider installed and and I was told it would conflict with the Xtreme tail light as the Knight Rider would extend over the Xtreme tail lights.
Looking at this video, I realize that the Knight Rider is installed under the trunk and over the rear camera, which becomes flush with the trunk (😍), instead of being installed over the trunk (like other vendors 🤮) which protrude and stick out, creating an additional undesired lip, which can accumulate dirt.
In this video, it looks like the OEM tail light has the same body/shape of the Xtreme lights, so the Knight Rider could be installed without issues.
Can you confirm if my assumption is correct and I could get this item?
If your answer, it is YES, when does the Knight Riders turn solid lit? I would imagine only if i press the break and do reverse. I would expect it to blink for left/right turn and for emergency lights. Never full-time lit, day or night.
Please clarify, possibly with videos, as Memorial Day is coming soon and I would like to buy by that time.
Thanks!
Can I wire this up only as running light? Does the adapter work with the inner tail lights?
No
is there a way to keep only the tail light on while driving, and then when you brake all the lights work together similar to the brake lights on a Porsche
It’s on while driving when lights on
@@hansshow-teslaupgradeacces9499 yea i meant while driving the OEM tesla rear lights stay off but the light bar stays on, then when you brake it functions like how it does now with both the light bar and OEM lights on.
@@hansshow-teslaupgradeacces9499 similar to how a porsche macan tail lights work
I'd buy a few of your products if you had an installer in the houston area as there's no way I'm doing these installs myself.
Please reach out to use at inquiry@hansshow.com and we can recommend some.
can i mod this to function only as a running light and brake light? the signal thing and the animations are a bit much for me
If you have issues please reach out to our US tech support www.hautopart.com/pages/contact-us
Any auto pilot issues with the increased light near the rear camera? Does it obstruct the rear cam @ all?
Not at all
I have early model 3 and I had to cut a full section out so it would fit properly as well cut out extra for the camera.
Is there a way to turn off the turn signal animations?
You can cut the signal wires, please contact us at support@hansshow.com or +1 (949) 826-6200 M-F 9-5pm GMT -8
Has anyone install both the light bar and the reflector lights together ? When I install both of them all lights go on including indicator lights when I put the turn signal on.
For tech support please contact +1 (949) 826-6200
Would you know by any chance if individual lighting functions can be turned off? I live in Germany. Very strict regulations here to ensure driving with no speed limits is as safe as possible - and 3rd party sequential blinkers are not legal here.
You contact our tech support to confirm if possible at +1 (949) 826-6200
do you know more? is it possible to use it in Germany?
@@orichienal yes you can but to be sure check local laws and regulations
Hi - did you connect that orange 12 V cable? I have a 2023 Model Y Performance and I don't have a port to plug in the Orange 12V cable.
I also have the same question, 2023 Tesla model Y what to do with the 12V orange wore
@@tariqqayyum6369 Just finished install on my 2023 Model Y. Follow this video instead for the 12v orange wire. th-cam.com/video/zqWqL85RoWk/w-d-xo.html
@@andrewlin7171 thanks for the link, i managed to install the bar, without connecting the 12V wire it's working fine, actually if you need to switch on the light as soon as the car is start irrespective of Day or Night, then you need to connect the 12V wire to the source, if you only want to switch on the light during the night no need to connect the 12V wire
@@tariqqayyum6369 ok, didn't know that. I still would connect the 12v. Like how the start up, break and blinker looks. Will the break and blinkers work without connecting the 12V?
@@andrewlin7171 Yes, all other functions are working as expected, the only difference of 12V wire connection if you want to remain switch on the bar irrespective of Day or Night, where as no 12V connection will only switch o. The bar at night or when the parking light switch on in the evening
2023 model 3 here, would love to do this! Curious if this would void warranty?
It could but limited to warranty this products replaced always ca go back to OEM
Does it work with the light show
Yes same startup animation
Are you Planning to bring this to Europe? With ECE Certificate so it is legal to equip?
Yes
How much the price
Can you get that strip light somewhere in Europe?
Yes but check your local laws and regulations to make sure
Any reason why you skipped the part on how to connect the 12V?
No need it gets power from taillight
I just skipped the 12v part because of this comment stating it gets power from the taillight and so I connected it to the taillight on the right side using the Y adapter provided and the light does not work
Nice but no way I could do this
Nice but nothing nightrider about it
This is much better than something else I saw that stuck out and it looked ugly as shit
the trunk button literally doesnt fit
450$ i guess a bit much for this gadget
Use our discount code right now under 350. Code is HANSSHOWNA
Got mine from Hansshow website for $215.
$205 black friyay
I’m sure Elon was influenced by Knight Rider…..
I bought this, its absolute fucking dogshit, the fitment is terrible espicially for the truck button andnlicense plate lights.
Yep, 100% agree. Most of these YT videos will not mention that because these people are reliant on the sponsorship. I was disappointed when I installed and noticed that my rear camera view is greatly obstructed. I thought it was strange that no video mentioned it or very few, and I now know why. Also, I've asked several questions on these videos, and they all get ignored or say it's no issue when, in reality it is. They don't want to forefit any affiliate profit. SMH!
That’s disappointing. This looks so cool.
This is not a complete install. You didn’t cover anything after plugging in the left taillight U loop. What about how to connect the left side with the right!!! Terrible Install video.
Worst install video I've ever seen ... doesn't even cover how to connect the left side to the right side ... also the fitment is garbage on this light
so funny every video on you tube for tesla upgrades is 2 sided tape LMFAO!! stick on upgrades
False. Show just one
