God, I love these soundtracks. The Ocean On His Shoulders - Regardless of what comes later... riding a rickety little elevator after ending up in Rapture, listening to Atlas talk about the family he just wants to bring back to the surface... watching a random Splicer beat pathetically on a door as you pass. It gives you a sense of the tragedy of Rapture - it was almost a utopia, and then everything came crashing down, and all that's left is a crumbling, leaking wreck full of superpowered, psychotic junkies. Pairbond - Say what you want about 2, but... even the first scene alone. Watching through Delta's eyes as he slowly plods his way down a hall, then bangs on a pipe to pick up Eleanor. That moment of just... walking down a hall, spoke volumes. He's tired. Every day, going through a routine for which the "greater purpose" of doing so is long since gone. Nothing left to do but survive. And yet... Even so... If you can say hearing "DADDY, HELP!" didn't cause you to turn your back on 5+ Splicers just to rip the head off the one that was bothering the Little Sister you were guarding - even though you knew they couldn't actually hurt her... I can say I doubt you actually played the game. Elizabeth - This one, oh... Another almost-utopia ripping itself apart from the inside - only this time, you watch it happen instead of arriving after the party's over. Sure it's got some tones of evil vs. evil going on, how are the Vox so much better than the Founders, etc., but there are still decent people here and there being dragged down with the sinking ship. And then there's Elizabeth. She goes from being kept locked up in a tower with "scientists" sitting behind her dressing room mirror with a camera and a bag of popcorn, to being caught in the middle of a conflict where everyone wants to use her for something or another. The Founders want their Lamb back. The Vox want to execute her to demoralize the Founders. Booker wants her as a bargaining chip for his debts... All she ever wanted was to go visit France and live for once, instead of viewing the world through books.
Frozen Soul Those very things are what made BioShock a really sad series because every character wanted something that they never really got and that’s what makes this game really sad at the endings.
Bioshock 2 was my favorite, something about being in the shoes of the "Big Daddy"'s made me care much more for the Little Sisters. Anytime I was in a zone with sisters and we were collecting, nothing stressed me out more than making sure not a SINGLE enemy got to them. I would use whatever weapons I had, no matter how expensive they were, to make sure they were safe. Plus the story, it was such a beautiful story. These games are absolute masterpieces.
I think each theme fits each game. Bioshock's theme has this underlying theme of "This is awful, but maybe there's hope!" Bioshock 2's is far more sad, as if Rapture is nothing and has fallen, and Infinite gives this fading hope as it goes on.

And in forgiving, we left the door open for her." -Eleanor The mind of the subject will desperately struggle to create memories where none exist... - R. Lutece There's always a lighthouse. And there it was... A perfect circle, A man willing to kill for his family A mother willing to die for her son A son who'd do anything for his mother A perfect circle, a line in the sand uncrossed And then i realized only I could bring a end to this madness...
I loved 2 more than the other games in the series, both in story and gameplay. Never before could I have been able to relate to such a character like Delta, all the struggles he goes through to save Eleanor and everything.
Same. Even though I think the overall story is better in Bioshock 1, I prefer the main character of Delta much more because you can actually really relate to his struggles and you care (unless youre a monster) about the little sisters like he does.
I’m so glad to see that I’m not alone in this fact. Bioshock 2 will always be my favorite, hands down, because it always succeeds at touching the right part of my heart.
Pairbond always strikes me right into the feels hard, it always made me think of Delta, how he saw his daughter Eleanor one last time until his final breath where he died with no regrets or no failure in the good ending. Especially how the little sisters made a small plushie of him, that was super deep too..
His reason for living was just to make sure she was safe. Now that she's on the surface.. the job is truly done. She's smart and strong enough to take care of herself now. No regrets.
"He doesn't ROW?" "No, he DOESN'T row." The hidden meaning is in the emphasis. Rosalind is confused, thinking Robert means that Booker is incapable of rowing the boat - which, as Booker proves by proceeding through Columbia as the protagonist of a FPS, is silly. The buriel at sea ending was one of the most bittersweet endings. Without elizabeth's sacrifice, jack probably wouldnt have ever made it to rapture to save everyone and kill fontaine
@@mrjevil6887 But with her death, means she can't go back to kill Dewitt. Meaning that Elizabeth's plan to erase all Colombias and Comstocks has likely at least partially failed.

Best ending. Captures the whole point of the game. That this "monster" still had enough of his kindness and humanity in him to be merciful to the cruel. And the example he showed inspired Eleanor to save her mother's life in the end instead of letting her drown.
i loved infinite. But it could not beat the first two. the creepy, horror filled city underwater.. something so beautiful turned to something so horrific and scary. you cant beat that at all.
That happened in Infinite as well, as you progress you notice that this once incredible and beautiful place that you found in the sky that you looked at with aw (I know I did) turns into this battleground, ravaged by you and this civil war. In infinite, you actually had a part in its destruction whereas the other two already were in ruins. Sure, infinite is not as scary as the other two but it makes you feel for it all the same.
No matter how much time passes, no matter how many "new and improved" games we get; Rapture and Columbia are places that are worth coming back to, every once in a while.

(spoiler?) Bioshock: save little kids, die an old man surrounded by a loving family Bioshock 2: save little kids, get saved by your daughter, live on as her conscience Bioshock Infinite: fight for your daughter, get drowned like a rat
Bioshock 4... It's there, but we have not had any news for a long time. Ken Levine went full Andrew Ryan and set his toys one fire before anybody else could play with them. Burial at Sea was fun, but it makes me so sad that he severed the oportunity to see some of them again in future stories. I still long for another city, in another world, filled with wonder that turns into horror. Maybe the development team for Bioshock 4 will get a good story in a few years and we can revisit its universe soon. Until then, at least I know there is a tear to a world were Bioshock is on the glory it deserves for years to come.

Bioshock 1: What can I really say that hasn't already been said. The tragedy, the horror, the mystery. This game was the moment I realized I wanted to do more with my time than mindlessly wander open world games. The moment my eyes were truly opened to what a GOOD game could do to ones soul. I'll never truly forget Jack or Rapture and I sure as hell don't want to. Bioshock 2: The game that almost nobody seems to like. And yet after playing the game multiple times, hearing any voice clips of Eleanor talking just makes me tear up thinking of the memories I had playing this game and immersing myself into the story of Subject Delta. I don't care who says it's a bad game, It gave me memories intense enough to cause me to weep at so much as hearing Eleanor calling out to Delta. Bioshock Infinite: Booker and Elizabeth, truly the two most interesting characters introduced so far. A girl wishing to be rid of her cage and a man lost within the sea of infinity. These two really opened my eyes and gave me a chance to look back at the last two games with some new eyes. Seeing Jack and Delta as more than blank characters made for us to project onto. But real characters who are trapped within their own cages just as Elizabeth was. Jack, a cage within his mind. And Delta, A cage around his daughter. These games are more than simple timewasters, they're living all on their own you simply need to let them be what they're meant to and you'll see the beauty of these fallen utopia's. So, would you kindly?
I just played the trilogy and it blows my mind how I missed out on such an impactful and beautiful game series. Every entry manages to have a depressing and sickly feeling yet always have a way of inspiring hope in dire situations. If there's one thing this game tries to convey, it's to always have hope even with life becomes hell.
A man must stage on what could not, The distant lighthouse bears behind the doors And a city turn inside into rot And all the manner of foes and more. For an ocean weighed the burden to bear To save or harvest those with or without care Now, the doors, open to the tales shall share From deep, or above, the monsters shall dare.
I bought the Bioshock collection when I remembered how much my older brother raved when they originally released. Best decision in gaming I have ever made.
My daughter is named Delta, after Subject Delta from Bioshock 2. I found out my wife was pregnant just as I started playing Bioshock Remastered on Xbox.
There was two city’s, one where people believed in there prophets “religion”, it now lays in the sky, the other hidden in the ocean because its leader chose to hide from the surface and with his people to never be seen again, until it had collapsed into a city of hell.
I see that the altered cover art with the in game bioshock characters for the 3 bioshock games are accurate with the rapture theme letters by William Henry. Bioshock & bioshock 2 share the use of the ocean on his shoulders soundtrack. Infinite has the Elizabeth soundtrack by itself. Ocean on his shoulders from bioshock: it’s more of itself & I don’t know how I can describe it myself. Pairabond by bioshock 2: both delta & Eleanor are separated after 10 years. After being resurrected subject delta/delta will fight through a devastated rapture to find her with Sinclair’s support. Elizabeth: it’s more of itself about Elizabeth/Anna.
You’ve heard of the Rapture...We all have, the legend, the curses. Foolishness about it lying at the bottom of the sea nowhere to find, sinking up the corridors. A bright, shining monument luring master’s mind to their doom. The world’s most famous stars and entertainers to its Grand Utopia... An invitation was a sing of.... exclusiveness. The utopia was supposed to symbolize a road to a brighter future, not just for the world.... but for all who came live like that... a chance for them to begin again... Exept- the Rapture never become Utopia. The war destroy the city like break a house of cards. The Grand Utopia - one big ending of humanity. It’s still out there in the sea, preserved, just waiting for someone to... crack it open. But getting to it. That’s not the hard part... It’s letting go.. (Original is it Sierra Madre Casino)
I'm really shook and amazed, i'm upset, booker was drowned after what he had gained, jack survived and he died years later, delta died but his daughters lived,
(Thanks! Garry Schyman is a genius) I put them this way because it's easier to read the three titles than if the longest one was the first, but each time a song starts playing it's name appears on the video :)

When this played at the end of delta's story it hit me even harder
I'm surprised more people don't bring up these games when discussing good game music!
The cellos and bass in these songs are so intense
The best soundtrack is Pairbord ever
A man must stage on what could not,
The distant lighthouse bears behind the doors
And a city turn inside into rot
And all the manner of foes and more.
For an ocean weighed the burden to bear
To save or harvest those with or without care
Now, the doors, open to the tales shall share
From deep, or above, the monsters shall dare.
Man builds city underwater, invites others inside, but utopia isn't real so he must be denied his dream, and so... the man dies by his creation.
The Ocean On His Shoulders and Elizabeth, a.k.a. Jack and Elizabeth's themes
here i am a simple man just waiting for my bioshock 4 ;-;
there wont be one, at least not a real one. ken levine quit 2k
bioshock is a series of stories, not a franchise
Gay
I agree mate
La historia se cerro en los últimos DLC :(
All the songs are sad and feel alone, but they all have a story
I cry every time...
You did good delta, you did good 🥺
The song feels my heart with joy as the game did. But I still I’m sad because I know there’s only a small chance they’re making another one 🤞🏿
they are making a new game! not by 2k though, but they should be releasing more information about it in december or early 2021! 😸
Honestly, I don't want another Bioshock...
It's just perfect the way it is.
Imagine never played all three games... Must be a sad life.
I bought the Bioshock collection when I remembered how much my older brother raved when they originally released.
Best decision in gaming I have ever made.
@@Val17282 breh...
BREH!
Bruh. I only played BioShock 2
@@yiaaaan That's the saddeest thing I've heard in a while...
I would pay to forget my current experience with the 3 games just to relive it once again
My daughter is named Delta, after Subject Delta from Bioshock 2. I found out my wife was pregnant just as I started playing Bioshock Remastered on Xbox.
" I can see all the doors and whats behind the doors... and behind one of them incredibly I see him"

Who cut the damn onions??! Q~Q all 3 of them are such masterpieces!
Can I just say this is my new favorite video on TH-cam
We need BioShock soundtrack on Spotify
pairbound sounds most touching to me
Bioshock infinite this game it’s reminds me gangs of New York movie (2002) always.
I liked Bioshock 2 the most in terms of story and gameplay. Its main theme is very fitting.
The track "Help" from Burial At Sea Part 2 would have fit well here. It ties together "Ocean on his Shoulders" and "Empty Houses".
This is so sad, Alexa play Jingle Jangle Jingle
I love all parts bioshock . And i want bioshock 4 .
I really wish this mix was on Soundcloud
There never will be a game with as good as an atmosphere as the first two games. Probably witcher 3 comes close but that's it.
chills
A man choose
a slave *obeys*
JUST..... SADLY AND PERFECT SONG
May God have mercy on our souls!
Pairbond gives me fucking goospumps when I've only hit the main menu! God damnit that violin is wonderful!
Zaden Reivax yes. I've fallen asleep to it. Apparently there's a good chance we're getting a new Bioshock.
Rick Poff So I've heard, I don't know how they're gonna truly pull it off without Ken but I'll stay hopeful.
Zaden Reivax Just gotta hope for the best
perfectly....
To the one guy that disliked... Fuck you
and it's to second guy.... Fuck you
to the third one... Fuck you
And should there be a fourth, a preemptive "fuck you" to that user!
I miss Delta.
I have a solution destroy all lighthouses
We NEED another Bioshock game. Call it Bioshock 3, or Bioshock beyond Rapture...but we NEED another Bioshock game.
Agreed!
Good.
I want to go grab my Tommy Gun and start unloading on splicers for some succulent Adam
rip the days of annotations....
whoops the video paused
Elizabeth reminds me of Halo
I adore these songs, but ocean on his shoulders is so I satisfying because I keep thinking it's going to break into the Sad Violin song.
*un satisfying
I need to replay Bioshock 2 again...
What if Elizabeth was deltas granddaughter
master piece :3
Pinches temazos me despeinan los pelos de los huevos con lo épicos que están
Pairbond ❤️⚓️💦🐠
Hope Shear + ❤️👍😭
Hell yeah!!!!
Dulce dolor
Dulce y eterno olvidó
Она чудесная!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm really shook and amazed, i'm upset, booker was drowned after what he had gained, jack survived and he died years later, delta died but his daughters lived,
I love bioshock, the end :v
Well, at least put the song titles in the correct order for those who are not familiar. Great upload nevertheless.
(Thanks! Garry Schyman is a genius) I put them this way because it's easier to read the three titles than if the longest one was the first, but each time a song starts playing it's name appears on the video :)
