I know the videos are old, but regardless, thank you for these two videos. I'll move onto your Gladiator videos next. I learned a lot, and I'll cool down eventually and reinstall BB after I got frustrated in my last run and vowed no more. Undead auxillary fight in rubbish gear leading to party wipe after 20 days. I just never felt like I could progress. My biggest failing is too many trade/caravan missions and not enough time fighting. Your style of articulating your thoughts and strategies is excellent.
Yeah the easy money missions are really a noob trap. You start your 1st run, realize you need gear, gear costs money so it's an easy train of thought. Get free money by running caravans, buy gear be strong. But gear is way more expensive than any caravan mission you can reliability completely early on pays. And the same gear can be aquired from thugs and raiders with careful tactics and a cheap dagger.
i just imagined some nomad duds going north looking for a good ol time, get into a fight with some guys and they just hear one dude yell "look what we got here lads, nice shit" and the nomads just start sweating as a pack of feral loot goblins start pulling out daggers. i would shit my pants and run honestly
Hi, for my part i'm pretty interested if you continue this run. I mean, on average it take me like 15 days more to get to this point so i'm impressed. Keep up the good work
Hey there -- I actually did continue playing with the intention of posting more videos, but got half my team wiped to a misplayed brigand raider fight. FeelsBadMan. :( However I started a new run as Gladiators. Same format -- explained/oriented towards newer players, with the goal of smashing the Monolith by day 70. Just posted the first vid, hope that appeals! I appreciate the comment and the interest.
@@wkatz0Heya, thank you for these videos, I found them very helpful! Sad that you lose half your team further on, but honestly, I'd still be keen to see the video for your thoughts on what went wrong and what could have been done differently. Either way, I'm going to enjoy watching your other runs to see how they go!
I just watched both videos and I have to say that I appreciate the clarity you provide during these videos. It is easy for me to follow your thoughts and I can’t wait to apply them to a new run. I am pretty new to BB and I don’t fully grasp all the concepts yet, especially what bros are good for what roles and which perks to get. I was probably a bit too cautious when it comes to fights in the beginning as I carefully picked my enemies so there was minimal risk and I got Raider gear for my party somewhere between day 30 to 40 or so though I didn’t really progress beyond that yet. Would be interesting to see a tutorial for the first 100 days made by you. I saw you released some more videos recently so thanks for your old stuff and hopefully there will be more to come!
Thanks for the kind words! This is an amazing game, and it gets even better as the player's skills improve. What I'd like to do, is a "Zero to Monolith" run, where I start a run from scratch and beat the Monolith in 120 game-days.
Man, your gameplay is amazing! You're really good at using your luck to your advantage and creating opportunities to improve your team to the next level. It's incredible how much slower I am playing compared to you.
@@xswr8761 thanks man! I think the trick is to just experiment. I have a lot of hours in this game, so I know what fights are winnable. But the way I got there was by just trying different fights and reloading if I lost in taking different approaches if I lost a fight three or four times in a row, I would conclude that my team just wasn't strong enough yet. It's a lot of trial and error
@@wkatz0 today i tried play like u, and make a huge progress. 5 chainmail with 110 durability in just one fight was amasing and this is only bcs of your tempo build. Thx!
this vdo is the one i am looking for, to learn how to play the game to the core. however you could do the mid game on how to approach on survival after starting period (15-30 days) because I wipe after day 30-40 on easy although got full loads of equipment also what to do if the bros dead and u need to replace them mid-game.
Thanks, I'm so glad you found that helpful. Yes, sometime again soon I'll start making videos again, and I'll cover the mid game and how to transition to the late game. To answer your question, if my guys are around level 6 at 8:30, I go south and I smash the entire desert. It's insanely profitable and you usually find some famed stuff. Losing guys in the mid-game is tough, because the most valuable thing in this game is experience. So, I tend to play very cautiously and defensively, as you've noticed in my videos, because I'm trying to minimize the loss of brothers. One thing that really helps keeping your early game brothers alive is the nine lives perk, so I would recommend to start trying that out on your lower quality early game brothers
would have been fun to see you continue from there and see what kind of perks you'd be going for when leveling them up more, and at what point you going to swap out dudes for stronger bro's etc preparing for mid-game/end-game.
That is a very good question. I believe that the range bro has to have at least 45 ranged attack to register as a threat for the AI. Additionally, backpacked ranged weapons only count as a threat if the user has quick hands. So, that's how the rules work with that, knowing that, it could be a good strategy. At the time I made this video, however, I did not know any of that, so there you go. Hope that helps
These videos are fantastic 💪🏻

@@HalIOfFamer Early basic flails are massive for farming gear. The holy grail is a raider with 110 chest armor and no hat!

Feral loot goblins 😂 that is a label I gratefully accept

Hi Shirolicious -- I stream at twitch.tv/slugcftw. Doing a peasant militia run right now, the VOD should be available if you want to watch.
Wouldn't it help to equip the two backline fork bros with slings and put the forks in the backpack so that the AI thinks it has no range superiority?
