  • In this video we take a look at Jesus’ call to Nathaniel to follow him. It has always been a bit strange to to me that Nathaniel goes from skepticism to believing Jesus in just a matter of a few Words. Let’s explore the interpretation of John 1:46-50 this and what the significance is of Jesus seeing him under the fig tree.

I’m reading the Bible alongside watching the new television series the Chosen and this video was not only helpful in understanding the story of Nathaniel, but it also encouraged me in my own walk with Christ. Your second explanation filled me with hope in the good work the Holy Spirit has started in me, and will surely bring to completion. God bless you and stay encouraged, your efforts are appreciated!

I really enjoyed hearing this explanation. I liked how you talked about even though there was doubt there was still curiosity.

Fantastic! I now sort of imagine Nathaniel under the fig tree asking God "Do you not see me, Lord? Where have you been?"
And Jesus walks up, "When you were under the fig tree", he leans forward and says, "I saw you." ;) Thanks brother. Interesting perspective!

I am learning about this at Junior Church this week. I like looking at when new testament stories show the old testament like Jacob's ladder in this one. Lots of the stories link up

I believe the fig tree was in a dream that Nathaniel remembered but told no one about

The fig tree represents Israel and them that have integrity. Also, Jesus is calling the ones of the fig tree to Himself. To be believers in Jesus. Amen. God bless Israel open their hearts, mind and souls to your saving grace. Amen.

What a waste of time! Zhu! He repeats
him selves Without giving references from Genesis 3, Zachariah 3:8-10 Isaiah 11:1-4. Or Jacob the first Israelite who was a deceiver. 😢
