@@doctorscoot Intonation was easy as there is a ton of room for adjustment. As for the tension on the springs, I wasn't sure what would work best, so i just made them as similar as I could :) Need to do some more experimentation for the perfect feel!

Really cool to see hardware manufacturers getting creative to find technical solutions. Most guitar brands are stucked in the 70s for so long now. I hope they will get as creative for headless tremolos and locking nuts, which are left aside for too long. Ergonomic and light guitars are the future, wether we like it or not. But this one is really clever, like their Strat system. Well done guys and thanks for the review.

    Damn! What a clever design!
    Edit:
After looking further into it, it looks like they've changed the design a bit to avoid the need to drill two new holes into the body. Their website still shows only the old design.
The thing is, they advertise the old design as requiring no permanent changes while absolutely requiring drilling 2 new holes into the body.
Here are their statements from their website:
    1. "Installing a VT2 Teletrem, unlike other options on the market, deeply respect the body of your beloved guitar without the need of making any permanent changes.
    2. "Installing a VT2 just needs a screwdriver and following a few simple steps that you will find in the assembly instructions section".
Not a word about drilling. They mention drilling only on the instruction video.
I find it a bit dishonest.
Though I'm glad they, apparently, improved the design to avoid the drilling.
Thought it was something worth noting.

Dude, one of the VERY FIRST Utube videos I ever saw was you, Darrell Braun doing the Vega Trem video.
I know, it was only 5 years ago - and yes, I did live "under a rock" for nearly 20 years!
(I had a debilitating alcohol substance abuse - addiction, and, it tool me 15 years of going through the revolving doors of detox → rehab → retox → de-hab ! before I got sick of banging my head against that same same wall - and finally stayed clean & sober.
So yeah, 5 odd years ago, I got an iphone...and we finally got decent WiFi down here in Australia ..and I started watching utube - for the very first time!
And it went approximately like this:
Start : "Strat or Tele??" videos
(Oh, yeah, I had sold my gear 18 years in addiction, and even when I got periods of clean time - I found that so painful to think of, I just convinced myself I don't want to be a guitar player any more.
(I had played for 8 years before that - 12-20)
So anyway, cut it short...I was weighing up which guitar to buy to get back into in.
Funnily enough, a Strat and a Tele were the only guitars i had ever owned.
So, the S Va T videos - of which there are many , andvone of yours, I believe...??
Anyway i watched someoned Verse off....then I saw your video on the Ibanez...the RG Vs the S.
Like everyone else, I was immediately smitten with the golden, quilt top Saber you had! It was the first I'd seen one, and i went off to discover them.
I ended up on Nita Strauss' Jiva. And, iyf course, I fell in immediate love - and the guitar's not bad , either..! 😁
No, seriously, I got hooked on the idea of an Ibanez S. The Jivva was certainly (and still is) a top runner.
I very neaely bought the iron label 6SiXFdfm model, if anyone remembers...but I had missed it by the time went ti pull the trigger!🤦‍♂️ CRUSHED!!😭😭😫😩😭
Next, your Vega Trem video absolutely sold me, should I ever wish to upgrade a strat bridge in the future.
It looks so high quality and solid.
Anyway, now Ive told you that, and.... Imma go,😕 -----👉 now ...
It took me half an hour of my life to type...and will likely get few, if any likes, or even reads!
But if Darrell actually reads it - then... that'll be cool!
I really do have a sense of nostalgia, for only 5 or so Years ago...strange, I know!

I read it! It’s never a waste of time. I “waste my time” writing long comments too. Sometimes trolls reply about my novel (I ignore). Other times, you meet some nice people who also love guitar and can relate with what you have to say.
I’d love to recommend the @ThreeChordDave TH-cam channel to you. Amazing group of people, especially during the live stream (Dave goes live 10PM Irish time on Saturdays - he’s Irish, but we have people from all over the world. I’m in NYC). I know there’s a few people who sobered up after a rough time. Some of us also have health challenges. And all of us are a bit nutty, lol. You would be very welcomed. We all always laugh and have a great time talking about guitars, music, and other nonsense - and poking fun at Dave a bit. Even if you can’t come to the live streams, Dave releases really great videos besides.
Best wishes to you! Way to find your way back to guitar and find success with self-improvement! - Marsha

    A few points.
You state that the saddles are compensated. They don't appear to be, and there is no reason for them to be, as there is a separate saddle for each string, adjustable as with any six-saddle Tele or Strat bridge, by means of the familar spring and screw arrangement. This should ensure near-perfect intonation. The VegaTrem site doesn't mention compensated saddles, and we can be sure that they would.
You don't mention adjusting the intonation. The saddles in the positions shown would be wildly out of intonation, and yet the guitar as demonstrated plays in tune. Nor do you explain how adjusting the spring tension affects intonation, which it certainly should.
Knocking out the ferrules can lead to finish damage if the ferrules were installed before the body was finished. Anybody contemplating this mod should check this, and if necessary score carefully around the edge of the ferrules with a sharp (X-Acto type) blade before removing the ferrules, to break any bond with the finish.
The trem sounds good, but I feel that the complexity of installation and setup has been minimised.

Both my Tele's (A classic vibe and a partscaster I built) have Bigsby's with Vibramate adapters (for non-mod installs) and to make them easier to string - and they work beautifully but add a lot of weight. Darrell, or anyone else in this comment section, my dudes. I need your help. So I just got a PRS SE custom 22 and I am locking to switch the Chrome hardware to Gold hardware, which means getting a new bridge. but for the life of me I can't find the bridge size or right bridge. do you have any recommendations by any chance? Do Fender trems fit as direct replacements? I was also looking at the Flyod Rose Rail Tail, think that would work? any points in the right directions would be an absolute life saver. thanks!

Hi Darrell! Love your videos. I have a question that I think you might be able to answer. Will you take a look at this guitar at the beginning of this video and tell me if you know what it is? Slow Blues Guitar Backing Track in A. I've only ever seen it a couple of times and I'm very curious. Thank you for your time. Have a great day.

This thing is a joke. I saw the website and these are outrageously priced. For more than what this is I could make it in a garage! I'd sell them for around $50.00 each. Nothing special here. I only wonder how long these springs will take to wear out? It's a kitschy product born of kitschy ideas. The Telecaster as it is now known was never meant to have a tremolo which is why the Strat was invented. With the available tremolos out there I don't see why anyone would want one when the already durable and proven designs are more usable and functional.

I kind of feel like that is an overly elaborate mechanism to produce just a subtle vibrato. If you just want a bit of shimmer, something like the Gibson Vibrola, which is just a bent piece of metal, could easily be designed to go on a Telecaster without doing anything invasive, and the benefit would be its simple, fool proof design.

Darrel, I'm surprised you didn't let us know what an absolute pita this thing is. I want to love it, but touch it and the guitar won't return to tune. I opened the thring thru holes to 3/16, and it still hangs up. All the videos show popping right on. I find it hard to believe anyone can put this on, set up the guitar, and use it. It's in the package waiting to go back. I think if I had a new build, I would route the string thru holes to a 1/4 rectangular route. I would only go as deep to leave about 1/4 thk where strings come thru the back. Then I think the springs being free would give a chance at tuning stability. Ack, i wanna keep it but cannot.

You should really stop to talk about "trem systems" or "tremolo systems" when you talk about vibrato systems. There are no guitars with pre-installed tremolo, but many guitars with a vibrato system. And sorry, the lame excuse "but Leo Fender called it so" is just a cop-out, because Leo never was a guitar player, and mistakes he made do not need to be repeated again and again and again.

In other videos on different channels when they installed this tremolo they had to drill two holes into the body of the guitar. I'm wondering if this is a new version of the trim from Vega? Also, other channels had much more difficulty in getting it turned up.

If VT modified the spring length, I would think this system would work on a semi-hollow

7:02 Ouch, that's a nice finish chip when hammering the ferrules out.

Score gently around the ferrule with an X-Acto or similar scalpel-type knife before removing. That should break any bond between the finish and the ferrule.

Gee, I don't know. So you gotta give up body thru strings for string through a bridge. That's a huge trade off of sound. It's a backwards step.

The angle between the fulcrum and the saddles decreases, and the tension of the string will decrease. When the string is plucked, more swinging energy will be consumed and the sustain will be shortened.

It seems the tremolo is very subtle, pitch change is minimal, not even a half step. I would suggest a way to bend the angles of the trem arm so that it is higher distance from the body, so you could push down more and get more pitch change. I did that with a cheap trem system, bent the bar in a vice to give it more height , to have more pitch variation. Of course, the more you can bend the pitch, the more chance of going out of tune. I wonder if those letters might be a hazard? But I love the simplicity, and the blade setup is very subtle.
