    I ran the new flashpoint - Spirit of Vengeance - and even in Solo/Story mode I got 4 or 5 pieces of gear that were actually upgrades. Oddly the final boss dropped nothing for me, but the other bosses all dropped some pretty decent stuff.

    SWTOR Gearing System is totally Insane. For Compare, in World Of Warcraft you only suffer, suffer, suffer and suffer. By spending time in useless Grind. Grinding artefact weapon power, grinding neckless power, grinding mythic energy's for class hall, grinding resources for stupid minions, grinding hero mode dungeons for a dumb box with random item.... Just believe me as a WOW Veteran. That's a total suffering.
    But look at SWTOR.! Its like a magick. You log in? Get one. You make a craft task? Get one. Run with Guild? Ok, receive and enjoy. Make a PvP Daily? Get next. And next, next, next. For every step in game you get a reward. Looks like... Hey dud, you make a deep breath? Get your loot box for free.
    SWTOR is obviously most from all games that have a Player Friendly World. And? It Is Great!

    I know it's not truly "solo" but queueing for an story uprising group and playing with 3 other random players of any class is a super easy way to get gear. Even with the difficulty increase they're so easy you're basically in a constant sprint to get to the next enemy. 3-5 minutes and you have a handful of new gear and tech fragments. The only human interaction you have to make is an optional "GG" or "Thanks" at the end.
    Galactic Starfighter also gives great Tech Fragments in their Weekly+Daily missions, and you still progress even if you lose. Since I suck at it and the game is easily dominated by full time starfighters I just realize that my job is to bait the enemy into the range of my skilled friendlies (or we all die and you get points anyway). Again the only human interaction you need is an optional "GG" at the end.

    little tip, alongside having your current maximum item rating gear on before you receive and open another award box or loot drop, make sure you have amplifiers that actually benefit you, the more of these are of the same type and quality (minimum white and green to glorious gold.) the better. this counts for all Mission rewards, flashpoint rewards, and so on when stacked across your amplifiers will make things much easier, the improvement of steadily gaining better gear is beyond considerable, it is only rather costly in terms of credits. everything else gained can be broken down for more fragments or even pulled apart (and then sold) for upgrades inside the gear or weapons that are currently better then what you had on hand. this method works outside of crafting and outside of difficulty, you can do whatever you want and still benefit.

    Just hit 75 with my first character yesterday.

    I got a piece of 268 in a Conquest drop but it was something I couldn't use.
    Now I know I need to push on.
    And I was so proud of my Artifice lightsabers.
    Still, I'm enjoying the story.
    And now I know what that bar that replaced XP is all about.
    Ps. I see that Artifice allows for making some sort of supply box.
    These seem to be something to aid a guild making Conquest?
    If a certain guild needs a little more of that ...

  • @mflax4331
    @mflax4331 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm preferring to play solo. Before "conquest" I ended up with character by the end of chapter 3 with item level just above 200. "conquests" start with level 10. Since then I make sure to run up the 50k points needed and then I stop that char and switch to an alt char to do the same. I usually concentrated on a max number of 4 chars on the account. I spread them in such a way that I was aiming for all available buffs. Using that way I reached level 75 about 4 planets before the end of chapter 3. This got me to reach item level 270 well before the end of the 3rd chapter. This way a lot of golden gear sets dropped (those that you can buy for 3k tech fragments plus 1m credits). (I never knew that golden gear existed before that happened the first time.) The other guy is then used by me to get the 2 to 3 upgrades to this adaptable armor to go at least up to 300.
    When you prefer to play solo, it is not necessary to gear up. You can do all of the campaign with gear that has lower item level. And for using those vendors you need to be 75.
    BTW I checked this with a new account on another server. It really works with just levelling up. Picking up the dailies. I don't do crafting (just 3 collector skills for selling that crap - raised more than 100m credits on my first server and account). On the new server my highest Sith is level 71 and reached 9,200 tech fragments (as 10k fragments is the limit, I need to restrain getting fragments until I reach level 75 with her - after that I'll start shopping).
    I have proven to myself that you can speed up levelling and gaining ressources for later upgearing by doing the "conquest" every week up to 50k points. Than switching to an alt to do the same. After the fourth char, I'll only pick the daily rewards and advance the skills (which sometimes even awards additional XP or levels). Than wait for the restart on next weeks "conquest". It works for me. I'll be level 75 (+ 10 to 20 additional renown levels) and item level 270+ before the end of chapter 3 (those with individual storylines). No flashpoints or other jobs necessary.
    Some tasks on conquests are legacy bound - like the taxi ride (you had one that day on another char, you won't get points until the next day). Check the description. It may tell you.
    Have fun and success! Stay healthy!

    • @Swtorista
      @Swtorista  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @flamerollerx01
      @flamerollerx01 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Swtorista There are so many combinations of duo you could do! Perhaps even have two dps players with one healer and one tank companion, but companion threat isn't exactly stellar, so that would take some finesse, especially with groups of enemies. Companion aoe taunt has a cd and radius as you know, so clever positioning and use of the passive button might be needed, so the companion stays with you and you can line of sight to group them all up.

    Thank you very much for making this video and your written guide. I'd been looking for a guide that has ways of getting gear other than flashpoints, operations, and offering up my 1st born on the GTN :-).
    One question I had while I was watching this video. You stated that it's not recommended to disintegrate anything you get from leveling Renown points. I admit that I've never had much luck with RNGs so after a brief period of time getting great updates (that is from item level 202 to item level 268 in a single weekend), I'm now seeing a slump in what I'm getting from Renown levels. Most of the gear are pieces I'm getting are either the same level as I already have or sometimes lower level gear. Occasionally, I get gear that contain mods that are upgrades to the mods I have. With those I take the higher level mods out and replace one or more of the lower level mods I have. For the rest, I'd been disintegrating them for a very small amount of Tech Frags.
    Apart from keeping the gear to possibly give to one of my alts, are there any other reasons not to disintegrate the gear you get from Renown levels? I'm at Item level 276 now and I'm about to start the "Jedi Under Siege" portion of the Onslaught expansion. I'm also curious it I could expect to get higher level gear from Ossus, Onderon, and/or Mek-Sha since I'm already above 268 gear level?
    Again, thanks so much for this video. I've always found your videos and guides extremely helpful.

    • @Swtorista
      @Swtorista  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey!! the idea is you get more "worth" to take the item out of the renown stash into your inventory and "deconstruct" it in your inventory. I know the terms disintegrate/deconstruct are hard to distinguish I get them mixed up a lot.

    I know you didnt want to include ops and its of course a bit cheesy but toborro's courtyard barely counts as an op in my opinion and awards good gear fast. It can be ran every day in SM by group finder from level 70 and is a good way of getting gear and tech fragments. At 75 you get about 10 pieces of gear drop plus 550 fragments. Its worth a non solo experience IMO.

    There is so little information for F2P. Any chance you could do a video for us non-subs? I realize you won't be lv 75, I'm unsure of what to do with myself after I hit 70 and finished all the main storyline quests. I also realize I should max out my professions.
    Does completing alliance base alerts offer benefits? Are there ways of getting great gear for the lv 70 cap? Should I just sub to hit 75? Will my level be brought back down to 70 after unsubbing?
    So many question, so few answers >_

    At around 9:20, Swtorista mentioned visiting vendors to get specific pieces to finish armor sets, and that we usually do this when we get to rating 306. At least that's what I think she meant. My characters have gear in the 290 range and I already have several complete sets of armor, which I use to get the set bonuses. How much faster might I advance my gear rating if I focused on non-upgradable armor items instead of upgrading the sets that I have?

  • @nutsinmabasket

    Great video! As a new player I have been wondering though- If you can get all of your best gear by doing pretty much anything in the game, what is the point of operations other than bragging rights? I feel like there's no real reward incentive to do them and that's kind of disappointing.

    • @Aylass84
      @Aylass84 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally, I find operations fun, even better than flashpoints, and even more fun when you get to do them with friends or people you know. It's also a way to learn new skills and mechanics in the game, and test your capabilities.
      You get a lot of gear from an operation, some bosses or even mobs on some ops can drop decorations that you might win, and some bosses also drop pieces of set bonus gear specific for a class that someone might win. (some set bonus gear drop only on ops).
      But in the end, it's just another content of the game and another way to get gear, but you do it if you want to, that's all.
