Select a sample loop, chop it, and add drum & bass & other synth. Repeat the loop in idea mode to add or throw something away. At the end, use idea mode (with append) to arrange it, and the beat comes out~
Sara you are just to ill...Excellent Video!...I'm about to buy a Maschine Mk3....and will be following you...much love and success to you...stay Blessed!
I'm glad that you made this video because when I started using Maschine it was very complicated, almost wanted to give up because of the lack of tutorial videos of the everyday producer. But this will most definitely feel the 🔥 for many starting out. Us, Bedroom Producers appreciate this. WOC: Maschine MKII Current go-to expansions: Pure Drip & Magnetic Coast
Really appreciated how you switched to song/arrange view and kept duplicating the scene there vs. trying to create all the scenes in the idea view. That technique is a game changer in terms of adding small variations in the patterns. Thank you!
@@Sarah2ill SAAMMMMEEEEE....Im very used to not having it. i do love all the options and people do different things with them. like clips looks like something i will legit use because I would do makeshift things like setting samples as one shots so they would travel outside the pattern and so on to make certain things work
Sarah I been following you for a few years. You get better each beat like a fine wine or something like that😀. I love your music and you for who you are. Blessings from Atlanta Ga. ✌🏾
I absolutely love the simplistic nature of your videos.I still consider myself a newbie in this field but I just about always have a drum pattern and a baseline in my head when I sit down to start work. I get that loop going then just sprinkle the sauce on it "Illstramentalist" style lol. LOVE your work!
Fire. I remember seeing you and stln drms in Durham and it changed my life forever. Watching y’all taking what is beautiful audibly, adding your own energy and vibes to it changed my whole perspective on life. Simps will say y’all just make beats, but what y’all do is a philosophy of life. Taking what’s presented in front of you, make it your own; and additionally making it beautiful.lmao still paying off some bills for my Mk3 mikro and sp also, bought that ish the next day. Thank you Sarah, for perpetuating hiphop culture and making Dilla and all the others smile from above. 💯🥁
I'm very late to the Maschine fraternity and was put off buying the Maschine controller until I got my head around using the software as its totally different to Logic and any other normal DAW. But after watching this I've grasp the basic concept now. Thanks so much as you're the only person I've watch that makes sense, no disrespect to others I've watch but you're the best by miles.🤘🏾
We finally find a good music producer who knows how to explain and make good lofi beat 😃!!!! Thanks Sarah your awesome and your beats are fire 🔥🔥🔥 !!!!
Thank You, Sarah! This is one of the best demonstration and explanation of how to create a song from beginning to end. It is not easy to explain the thought process with no jargon and as clear as you did. If you create a full course, you can be sure that you have guaranteed yourself at least one sale. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and for empowering the community.
Okay I can’t wait Today is the day hope you have your beginners guide coming Today can’t wait to dive in and learn this nice piece of music equipment👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👊🏾👊🏾😎🔥🔥!! You keep rocking Sarah! Your videos inspire me!
I’m so Grateful that the first person popped up was u!! This is VERY Dope content, I just got Mashine and a the MKII S61. Before that I was using Studio one, but now I have to learn Mashine and your video pops up n it’s Great to know that I’m on the right path with My Own Production, I use the same methods when making My Beats as well, so I definitely know I’m doing it right now! Thank u so much for this!
On the same DAW journey as you fammo. Been on Studio One since 2016, but after getting the MK3, I had to expand. Much love to you and all creatives in here learning, and much respect to Sarah for the wisdom!
This is crazy. I am coming from the MPC side of sampling. The EMU side of sampling. The Ensonic side. I stay on N.I. sites like "P.O." and couldnt wrap my head around the Scene making. Now you come with simple talk and i fully understand how to use the Scene like i did with the other old style machines. Thank You.
this channel did more than any other to convince me to get into Maschine. Now I’m going machine crazy, adding to my setup every instrument with Machine in its name. (Machinedrum/Monomachine) ..the holy trio of machines. ;) Seriously tho, oldschool Elektron gear is amazing synergy with the NI groovebox workflow. Love it.
Great vid! I've done 2 beats so far with a third to come. You're right, this pack is so easy to make beats in!!! Keep up the good work! Look forward to your course! 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in this video you are an angel and know what you’re doing I hope one day I can follow in your footsteps, great inspiration beautiful soul God bless you wherever you are sister. 👍
Thank you so much for the awesome and informative video. I don't have an mk3 yet but I'm trying to learn as much as I can before I purchase one and your video helped me more than any other I've watched. Love your beats too!
super cool to see someone elses process. so many options. my pattern lengths and overall workflow is dependent on what kind of loop i find and how long or short it is. some of my scenes are 16 bars long and others are 2 and so on. i love how your first scene is like how people use the ideas view. i usually produce my stuff super linear but want to incorporate new tactics to save time and improve the results
awesome videos as always thank you for all your knowledge and wisdom it really helps me out. I just picked up the mk3 and machine jam a few weeks ago so this is new to me and your videos help a lot. keep it up and stay safe out there.
Gal I love this! Thanks for quick training on Maschine Mikro. I just got my Mk2 and started playing around, but yep I definitely got inspired by you from Andrew Huang video for 4 producers a year ago! Love it!
You just gained a new subscriber! I’ve been trying to learn maschine and get frustrated and try to come back to it. This video did that and I’m buying this expansion tomorrow! Thank you 🙌🏼
Let's say I master the Maschine hardware and software pretty well, but I get stuck often to actually make a song instead of a loop. This video was really helpfull. Thanks Sarah.
I actually arrange similar to you however I duplicate each group as many times as needed after I’m done with the 8-4 bar loop. Then I duplicate scenes. Then I build out taking out sounds/patterns/groups as I hear what feels good. But as far as starting the track. I normally start with melody/one shots/ or loops and move my way to the drums. I’m really digging maschine videos on you tube especially this one. Really is cool to check out others workflow.
By picking sounds or foleys that sound like a kick drum, a snare or a hi hat, and then I just build up around the track with those sounds “hidden” in the background.
What up Sarah2ill, we've missed you and your content. I treat a beat like an essay (keeping in mind the mood or energy of the record in which I'm producing)with my thesis being a stripped down intro, depending on how🔥and catchy my chorus is I might slide it in right after my intro, then comes my 3 bodies which represents the 3 verses which may have an A chorus and a B chorus even a bridge building up to the final chorus and a stripped down outro fading out. (If it makes sense I like organized spontaneity in my music).
How do you start your beats? Comment below to win a Native Instruments Expansion! 😎😎
Usually with Bud Green.
Hehe ✌🏻
Select a sample loop, chop it, and add drum & bass & other synth. Repeat the loop in idea mode to add or throw something away. At the end, use idea mode (with append) to arrange it, and the beat comes out~
I just go with the first thing that pops in my head
I usually start noodling on my bass until I get something I like
With the melody. Prefer to have first no sample to have more options later.
dude i have learnt more about using maschine in this vid than anything else.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I'm exactly the same, just learnt more in 20 minutes than the last 2 years struggling on my own 😂
For real. I just got a machine mikro mk2 and komplete 25 and I learned a lot from her. She dope. Thank you very much queen

I LOVE this way of structuring beats. It is fast and easy. THANK YOU!!! btw, NICE BEAT. ✊❤
Depends on mood or time of day but usually scroll through samples and see what motivates me for the current beat session.
One of the better videos I've seen. Definitely subbing
