As Lo-Fi Hip-Hop rose in popularity in recent years, it seems for many people the word lo-fi is synonymous with the genre. There's nothing wrong with this but lo-fi is actually more of an aesthetic and a certain character of the sounds that are used in a track.
Nowadays DAWs sound very clean with excellent audio quality. But it seems many people prefer the sounds from yesteryear, when analog equipment was adding hiss and harmonics (distortion) to the sound and digital gear was still using lower bit depths and sample rates and degraded the audio.
In Maschine there are plenty of ways to achieve those dirty sounds and add character to your samples and instruments. One of the coolest ways is to switch the built-in sampler to the SP1200 or MPC60 engine and pitching the sample up or down enhances this effect.
I hope you enjoy these sound design tricks. They don't require any additional gear or plugins and only use Maschine's stock sounds and effects
Sick. Keep going. This channel is gonna blow up.

Maschine Mk3 is My Next item to Buy after i bought the sp404 sx. That west coast type of Beats is What I would like to do.
That’s awesome, come back for more tutorials when you buy it 👊
Yo fam I just peeped this video thanks for the jewels 💎 on eqing them drums got my joints slapping . Wanted to ask if maschine plus crashes alot reason asking is mine started to freeze up when I was scrolling through the expansion kits and go to a page that asked it i wanted discard or keep it did this a few times until I updated the firmware to 1.4.5 . Im really feeling maschine plus and dont want to return it for a mpc live II . But is are those crashes and freezes just a firmware thing or am I good to go since I updated the firmware .
Yo, glad the video was helpful! I don't have a Maschine Plus, so I can't speak from experience. But yeah, from what I hear from people who have it, the latest updates have fixed the majority of the issues, so it's a lot more stable now.
@@LowHeatBeats For real ok thats dope that the update has made it more stable cause I really like the workflow . Keep dropping them dope videos their making the learning curve on maschine plus real easy .
Oh well, you’re doing a great job man! Thank you 🙏🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
DOPE!

Sick bro!
Thank you so much bro!
