kisstaye1 oh really? tell me one same thing samsung has placed on its phones after 2011. Dont bother i have searced it none. i wan an apple lover and admirer but no kidding samsung in better now thats why is number 1 worldwide company on selling their phones. I am sorry about my poor English but i am still on lower.
Giannis Araba I agree, Samsung has grown a lot and has a lot of interesting new products. Copy iPhone's ideas? Apple pretty much release the same phone every year with one or two gimmicks added in. Such as Siri and finger print scanning.
Giannis Araba i know samsung is leading company in phone's but they copy apple they are not independent, as nokia is the only company making windows phones they do really amazing job and we know if they were making android, they would be on first position for smartphone's.....and i have just asked people's opinion about nokia and samsung so you should not be so irritated!!
I went from a note 2 to a Nokia 1520. I must say I am loving it, especially the phone colors n live tiles. You can't go wrong with either of these phones. The camera on the Nokia is amazing!.
the design style nd durability is 10 on 10 for lumia... nd processor is also good only 1gb of ram less compared to n3... i prefer lumia 1520.. LUMIA FTW
At the end of the day you have the note 3 which is a more powerfull and versatile device, especially with regards to app selection, however the lumia present a far superior camera experience (the video does not even metion the pureview lossless zooming,) a much nicer design in a much more durable package. WP8 is also faster and more secure than android. Office, nokia maps (with free offline navigation), nokia music(with free music streaming and downloading of playlists for offline use), etc are other very nice extras.
Lol... far greater? Really? The gap between these two is tiny, he sounds really biased at the end. Windows 8 was totally optimized for phones, thats why it has a gig less Ram and still runs better than Android. All the major apps are on windows, the only extra aps you get on google play little niche shit that you really don't need. I've never had a windows phone, but I know they run like butter.
I find it funny how biased it gets when people talk about android vs windows. I was looking for a phone and there are thousands out there..but most of them failed to deliver very basic needs of phone. if one had good camera.. it was unfairly priced. if one had everything fine.. the camera sucked. or last but not least... Batter doesn last for some of really high end phones. Nokia lumia devices are pretty well balanced. even a basic device in lumia range gives good camera.. better aesthetics even for basic models.. and very good user interface. I always hear brags about numbers of apps.. but when i use them.. there are atleast 100 alternatives of most of apps... and for games for that matters.. I found it very funny when in this reviews he pointed out how you can add multiple screens in android...XD .. its just a difference of axis it moves in... windows phone u can keep adding on verticaly. You need to realize you just missed how good Zeiss lens on lumia phones are. Its not just about resolution.. but the way it captures lighting in photos.. You can download 100s of camera apps or filter apps but if you dont a good camera its useless. check out the cost dude..THE COST damn.. im writing too much about it XD... i just feel some really good stuff is being overshadowed. dont be a grammer nazi.. my grammer sucks XD..
bonbonbang569 Back it up with some examples, please. I'd love to hear what it's lacking in your opinion... Except google core apps, I can't complain about anything... I have all the same apps I did, and if they're not THE SAME, they're VERY similar with a different name and developer. The ONLY thing I see missing is an OFFICIAL youtube app, but there are TONS of apps in the market to choose from. I honestly enjoy WP more than Android (I'm coming from a G3, Z2, Note 2, Note, and S3 as my latest phones).
after having had an S5 for about a year now, I really would love to own a windows phone again. especially the 1520. I had a 920, and thought it was lacking, but after having experienced such a feature filled phone, I just want to go back to windows. long live windows.
I went in the at&t store to look at it in person...OMG it's beautiful the 1520. And for what I use it for and apps wise it's perfect only thing I'm on verizon...dam...i don't know if it will come to verizon...
i think the Note 3 only wins because of the little details, useless if you ask me, both powerhouses to me, one just android and other a windows phone, other than that, there both beasts to me
ive had both phones now, the Note 3 last month and i got the Lumia today. ill have to say after a half day of usage with the Lumia, and know by heart everything inside and out of EVERY single phone in the past 2 years, the Lumia tops all so far. hands fucking down!
I'm able to see some kind of screen refreshing thingy happening on Note 3 while 1520 screen is looking perfectly fine, starting from 1:36 to 2:24. And Note 3 white looks much whiter than 1520.
BTW, I didn't remember to say that I had an expensive Android device and it got laggy and blocked. You can add as much RAM and as many cores as you want in your devices, but you'll not be able to have a smoothy phone as Windows users have.
I would like to see how your review would go like when the 1520 is running WP 8.1. This keeping in mind the fact that you were unable to have a "unified notification center".
I have a Note 3 and I don't like the camera, at all. It has a very aggressive noise reduction processing that makes darker shots into Picasso-like blotchy smears and when it snaps in anything but bright light, it takes a second or two to process the photo, during which you can't snap more photos. The Note 2 had a better camera as far as noise reduction and detail went. The Note 3 has an adequate camera....not a great one. The iSight camera or the Lumia 925/1020/1520 camera modules are much better for photography.
Totally Agree with you.. I'm a photographer and I had a Note 2 and actually have a Note 3, the 3 is better in everything, but in the camera i think exactilly the same, perfect cam in daylight, but in the dark I prefer the cam of Note 2
Would you change from a note 3 to a 1520? I like my note 3 but I like to change phones alot and i'm looking for my next one. Or do you think it is worth waiting till a bit later in the new year to see what comes out?
Giannis Araba Wait for a few years galaxy s6, galaxy g series and note 5 are coming out ..... I mean don't wait for any device ! Just use what ever you are getting now a days :)
Wait 3 years galaxy s7 is coming out and the note 6 oh and some new Jordan's are coming out so don't buy shoes in 3 years and don't buy cloths in 5 years because new cloths is coming out too oh and a new car is coming out next year so don't buy the new model right now wait oh no wait for a new car in 3 years so is more new then right now also new condoms are coming out so don't use condoms right now wait 3 years
John really enjoyed and absolutely loved the review of the best phone's in the past and appreciate the nice things I liked the amazing pics from both and I really don't think argue with the beautiful pics they produced and the Note 3 is the first Note line that started me on my Note line. I had the Note 2 but was not as impressed with it and definitely enjoyed your blast from the past Video's. Thanks so much for sharing Deb ✌️👍
I see the anti-mainstream trolls are out in full force. There is no way the Note 3 can lose to the 1520. As ugly as Touchwiz is, it's more feature packed and you'd be much more productive on it and you can play harder on it.
I'd dare say all of this is personal preferences. If you're not one to care a lot about games or apps (talking about unnecessary ones of course) then Note becomes an okay phone -in comparison. Good camera is very important for me, and I like the big screen. I also adore reading on my phone so 1520 having Office pack is a very important feature. The battery as well is the best too date.. s overall, it is the 1520 for me
I'd say it comes down to feature packed vs streamlined use experience when it comes to Android vs WP. On WP there's only a limited number of ways to do most things, so you do most things the same way. On Android there's more thinking involved, though just subsecond--oh right, this one has a navigation drawer so swipe from left edge to bring up menu--then, oh right, this one is a view pager so swipe around among sections--and then, where's the options page with this one? TouchWiz gives its users even more options and ways to do things than stock, but is that what people really want?
I'd be happy with stock Android but I have no idea what Samsung were thinking when they designed TouchWiz and why, to this day, it is just as ugly and unsophisticated as it was when Samsung first triggered my gag reflex.
This was one of the best reviews yet, really made me second guess my choice of the 1520, especially since these 2 are pretty close in comparison. And I favor Windows phone. Really depends on the multi tasking for me, but the Lumia's camera... T_T
i have a lumia 920 and the low light camera is used more than any other camera feature for me. its really really nice not to need a flash all the time and also be the only person who got a good picture in total darkness.
I have both and both have good and bad items with them. Using both for some time now I seem to almost always grab the windows phone first. Not sure why really but I do enjoy using both everyday
I changed playback quality to 1080p as I could not believe the Photo quality of the 1520 and Note 3 to be the same. After 1 look, it seemed quite different between the two devices. 1520 was way sharper and clearer than the Note 3. You could have produced a side-by-side video comparison of both devices to show the difference. Overall I enjoyed the review. Thanks.
I would like to see this review when the Windows Phone 8.1 update is released! And you missed some pretty notable features about the 1520 witch actually every Lumia phone has, for instance; -The typing experience and the keyboard is way better on the Lumia. -The built in GPS is great. -When it comes to the durability of the phone and the screen, the Lumia destroys the Note 3.
I own the 1520, best phone i've ever had. I've used the note 3 a few times, my buddy has one and trust me when i say this, despite all the high end specs, it still lags like crazy and crashes and the phone isn't even a year old yet. My 1520 is quick af and very smooth. I really don't see how people cannot like Windows Phone 8, i mean yes it is missing some features but that won't be for long because wp8.1 is going to be out very soon with some killer features(Cortana for example). Windows phone 8 really should be the preferred os here. i'm not dissing on android at all, like i said i used to owned the Note 2. I was very happy with it until five moths after i got. But if i were to switched back to android, i def would choose something that is very close to stock android ( like the nexus 5) but that doesn't look like it'll happen because wp8.1 is going to be a killer.
Lumia 1520 is superior in every way. The looks, display, build, durability and user experience is far greater. Those who say it looks like cheap plastic should really use one before commenting. I am enjoying the phone very much
John.. Are these videos made only for viewers in US? If not, why are you comparing the prices of the two based on on-contract pricing? If price is a deciding factor, compare the price of unlocked devices. All the countries dont have phones on-contract
The Note 3 tries to be a desktop PC with it's multiwindow features and its tons of other stuff, that I would never use on a phone. I think as a phone, the Lumia just makes more sense. It's fast and intuitive, it offers all the apps I'll ever need and the camera's great in low light. Also I like the large live tiles and the contrasty look of the whole OS, it makes it easy to find and read stuff on the go. Android looks a bit like a Windows XP PC on a much too small screen.
Reading these comments, you would think Wp and Nokia would have as many sales as Samsung/Note 3. But that's not the case. Both awesome phones but the Note 3 Is more practical for me. In size, practicality, removable battery, Android and a couple of Samsung's software features.
I really like the Note 3, Great mobile OS, bigger app market, S-pen, IR blaster, 13MP cam just a lot of better features, small bells n whistlers that make you choose it over other phones. However, I do like the Nokia 1520, great phablet screen size, edit MS documents, live tile updates, and great 20MP camera lens. That being said, I really dislike TouchWiz Skin, I prefer a pure android user interface. I'm not a fan of the new Windows OS, it's not as intuitive as IOS or Android, nor does it take advantage of is power. I never look at the case design or whether it's glossy from finger prints because if I'm going to spend $200+ on a phone I will be getting some sort of protective case cover for it. Giving it a completely different feel and design than it originally is.
What's up with "3 times the price"? This is the reason so many people are fooled by subsidized phone pricing in the US. Since you pay about $25-30 to your phone alone every month (included in your phone bill), it will result to the full price at the end. The full prices of the two devices are ~$585 vs ~$725 from AT&T. The Note 3 is still more expensive, but the difference is that as big as you said, Jon.
I have had a note before and got the lumia 1520 now and I really like both. I feel the note offers more but the windows phones feel like the run a bit better, I dont get all the pausing that can happen on the note
Honestly I would stay with the note 3 because 80% of the apps work I had a Windows 925 & it has really nice apps but only 20% really worked so for that reason I I had to change it fo a gs3 & it works Great I love it 90% of the apps work and that makes me happy. ..
come on, John, the 'drama shot' (action shot) u r looking for is in the smart camera, which u can switch to that mode by SIMPLY swipe down the icon on your right hand side, you don't need to use creative studio to edit every single photo BTW, you should really check out the smart shoot mode, there are a bunch of cool shooting modes there
The office pack with the windows phone don't support actually creating a PowerPoint presentation while you can do so in note 3 with downloading this app called Quickoffice hosted by google for free. . With that huge display. You can use the s pen and write down notes. Draw or whatever. And you get all the big names in gaming with it too. . So now tell me what does the lumia have the note 3 doesn't ?? A better camera? I got my dslr for that :D
The main reasons for using android is the diversity, flexibility, and personalisation. How ever, after a while one stops exploring those features, and start using the phone, you know, for every day use. And personally, 95% of the day I find WP8 to be better at the things that I actually do with the phone, instead of the things I could have done. A lot of New features comes with the WP8.1 update later this year also. Notification screen etc.
Thats very true. I know this. LOL..After those u mentioned i got bored, deserted ios and android.. Even it was a htc one. Here we go WP-Nokia..many many new adventures.. :)
Most people in fact do not get bored of not being restricted more so than some people get bored of any phone. And for just basic function all are ok. And that 8.1 has many rumors and it has taken a while to get there. The difference is the tiles are just something different to try.
darkangelss6sic6 As I wrote, the reason I use WP8 is not because I'm bored of the extra features in Android, but because it's better/faster/more effective at the things I do every day. I sacrifice the extra features I rarely use, for a better overall daily experience. You are right however that things have taken a while, and thus I’ve really not recommended WP8 before now, as things are starting to fall in place, and WP8 seams to get even better at the next few updates. This is my personal experience for the things I do. Will everyone think the same, probably not. But if you try WP, then do so over a couple of weeks at least. Because it’s different and takes a while getting used to.
It basically comes down to, the Note 3 is the overall better experience. The 1520 is the better for the money experience. As mentioned the Lumias do have great offline apps as well such as their radio and drive apps. Again making it better for the money if you want to get a lower data plan. The note3 is the James Bond phone. Does everything you could want, including the watch, etc. Very innovative, but its gonna cost ya.
Windows phone does not give me that WOW feeling when you like at it but the note 3 with it's designed & look at the home screen it's just give u that awesome feeling, it's just me but I prefer the note 3
Isn't it just so convenient that he missed out so many of the Lumia's differentiators? He actually really isn't that knowledgeable about these devices. He comments that brightness output is similar so therefore outdoor visibility is similar but that is just completely incorrect. The Lumia 1520 has assertive display technology and higher peak brightness in nits. Search for that in TH-cam and you will see that the difference really couldn't be more stark. He says that the Note 3 is technically sharper because of a slightly higher PPI. Well, if he bothered to check he would find out that the Note 3 uses a pentile matrix instead of the traditional RGB matrix, therefore, PPI aside, the Lumia 1520 has the advantage. He then doesn't realise that the Nokia Camera app does come built in with tonnes of extra functionality. He just needed to go into smart mode. He apparently does not know that exists. Those Lumia differentiators I was talking about? 1. Brighter screen, assertive display technology, higher pixel refresh rate, best outdoor screen visibility on any phone. 2. The Pureview camera technology, dual capture mode, lossless zoom. 3. 4 HAAC mics that capture full directional audio distortion free up to 140dB. They also work during calls to cancel background noise. 4. Wireless charging (built in with international version). 5. Biggest battery at 3400mAh. 6. As he did mention this is all for a steal. It is $200 cheaper than the Note 3 and One Max.
the knock on the 1520 is the lack of any custom software its just a giant wp8 device where as the Note has alot of custom software to take advantage of the size not to mention the Spen
I can't help but to feel sorry for Nokia. They have very good phone cameras and specs are now at par with the biggies but sad to say wp8 OS is a big downer. I tried a lumia once, probably the last.
So what was the point of you saying that about a phone you have probably used 2 years ago compared to something that is ow rivaling the Note 3 in every way.
I love my Note 3, especially the replaceable battery and expandable memory. Handwriting is super convenient and sometimes faster than writing on paper (less friction between stylus and writing surface than traditional pen and paper). The new Lumia 635 looks pretty good as a work phone though and it's dirt cheap (100 bucks no contract). My daily driver however is a Blackberry Curve 9330, nothing beats this little productivity beast when it comes to handling work and business tasks. One button press launches all essential apps including the app switcher, and it syncs with my PC Outlook flawlessly. No need to take a detour through the cloud.
If Nokia Lumia beats the Samsung Galaxy Note I would like to see how it faces off with the iPhone they have to do a different model to compete against it.
I own both phones, for me the 1520 just a better phone for me, for ME. Note 3, is a nice device and a great phone, just found myself going back to the 1520
I just saw this 1520 in person today. This phone looks and feels absolutely incredible. It's a shame Sprint doesn't have it. This is coming from a note 3 user, which by the way it's also and incredible phone. I will continue using Android and Windows... ios is a thing of the past.
Relatively a fair review, if we consider the "Bash MS Products, Blindly" culture, that is wide spreading among many of the so called technical reviewers. In my personal opinion, Nokia Lumia 1520 FTW. Screw android & its terrible in consistent performance & countless software crashes. I need and appreciate the super clear screen under the sun, where I live it is sunny & glarey all year around. Plus the camera is amazing & most of the photos we shot using a phone are not in perfect light situation. When it comes to the App store, I have all sort of quality App's on WP, not as many as android for sure, but I prefer quality over quantity. I have to mention that TH-cam experience on the WP was intentionally jeopardized by google & their unethical & dirty "competition", its a bit annoying, but will be fixed eventually... I'm speaking from a prolonged experience on both platforms. Not a fanboy cheering for this or that platform.
Design is preference. As well as the Note is more ergonomic too. The 1520 uses the same Poly Carbonate Samsung was severely criticized for and changed with the Note 3 which is also still Poly Carb, but with a new finish and feel. As well as removable battery and SD. Movie Mode Amoled shows natural colors too. Plus still shows black and better contrast. The Note3 has amazing outside viewing, but Nokia snuck in nabbed a slightly better score. In daylight pictures to most people's surprise the Note3 can actually gather more detail than the 1520. I don't see how 20MP PurView with OIS is beat by 13MP no PurView no OIS, but it happened. While the 1520 has slightly more acurate color production and a little less noise. Low light is where it has advantages. And the Note3 actually records 4k Ultra HD video on the Snapdragon version. Don't forget SVoice for voice control. While the Note3 has amazing battery life the 1520 has OUTSTANDING battery life.
that true multitasking definitely attributed to the note 3's shorter battery life. it's great, and the overall app switching is better, but it takes a ridiculous amount of power, like when he was watching a video and using the browser at the same time. but that's also where that extra gig of ram shines.
I have Nokia right now and had Galaxy s3 before and I do not miss Android. I have every apps I need and I'm quite a heavy user so in my oppinion it's pointless now to speak about a fewer number of apps for windows phone. Maybe on playstore you have 40 apps doing same thing as 25 on Windows phone store, but for user it is relevant...
I like both so much it's difficult to make a decision. I feel that if I could have a note 3 with the physical construction of the 1520 it would be absolutely perfect for me.
Its almost as if windows phone OS was designed for the phablet category.. It looks stunning on that screen to be honest..
thumbs up this comment if you think nokia is much better than samsung!
its a no brainer! samsung is just a toy. no original ideas, just a copy of iphone's design.
kisstaye1 oh really? tell me one same thing samsung has placed on its phones after 2011. Sorry. Both great devices, but the Note has mountains of advantages.
I would like the lumia 1520 far more. Sure it has some less apps but I like the apps it does have. And the operating system is really nice

Evan Mascarenhas hahahahaha
Evan Mascarenhas I have used and that is my opinion, no need to cry about it or resort to needless name-calling.

dont be a grammer nazi.. my grammer sucks XD..
Oh man, I need that windows phone
I think the next Lumia phablet generation will be awesome!
1520 hands down people always discredit windows phone and some have never even owned one
Windows phone lacks a lot,
bonbonbang569 lacks what?
Good.
bonbonbang569 Back it up with some examples, please. I'd love to hear what it's lacking in your opinion... Except google core apps, I can't complain about anything... Can't wait for my Lumia 1520 with window phone 8.1 it would be supreme.
Cortana !!
Joseph Zhang I have the new update on my 1020 and Cortana is great!
i have 8.1 in 520 XP
The Lumia smash the note
Sure, 5 milions N3 sold in just one month - in your face. Where is Lumia ?
it's happening because the people are ignorant , and bay what The Neighbor won't
lol are u dumb enough..its de sale we think of..its de specs inside de phone.lol are u stupid or already stupid?
I went in the at&t store to look at it in person...OMG it's beautiful the 1520. And for what I use it for and apps wise it's perfect only thing I'm on verizon...dam...i don't know if it will come to verizon...
search Lumia 929
verizon varient same specs 5 inch screen will be out soon
cremefraicheeee WOW I didn't know that...929...
www.wpcentral.com/revealed-nokia-lumia-929-verizon-5-inch-1080p-phablet take a look here
***** I was really shock how light it was and not to mention battery wise I think it's a 3400mah. Man that's awesome specs..
cremefraicheeee Except 929 is not a phablet. It's a regular 5" phone :).
Both are fantastic. I can't decide.
I am with you but leaning towards the Lumia 1520 as the battery is insane and the camera is outstanding.
Thumbs up if u agree
no one can match Nokia's quality
!
Do a drop test!! Watch the Samsung disassemble it's self!! haha
i think the Note 3 only wins because of the little details, useless if you ask me, both powerhouses to me, one just android and other a windows phone, other than that, there both beasts to me

Besides the pronunciation of Nokia, wery good review!
he's killing my ears everytime he says Nokia -.-
Finally Microsoft & Nokia, this is a nice phone, i hope i can get my hands on one!
BTW, I didn't remember to say that I had an expensive Android device and it got laggy and blocked. You can add as much RAM and as many cores as you want in your devices, but you'll not be able to have a smoothy phone as Windows users have.
Well you missed the 4k video for note 3
13 megapixel 4k? shit,
premium phone go for nokia 1520
Nokia Lumia !
Everyone can bash the style of the Note 3 all they want. I like it and I think it's the best looking smartphone by far.
The note looks really stock. Nothing different. And that fake leather, with fake stitching....UGH. It has nothing on the Lumia
hes always giving the upper hand to the note 3
We want the Nokia Lumia back... They were such good mobile... I like them more than Android😭😭😭😭😭
I would like to see how your review would go like when the 1520 is running WP 8.1. This keeping in mind the fact that you were unable to have a "unified notification center".
despite the function, samsung makes the ugliest phones
True
Wow.... watching your comments after six years and watching the current Samsung phones.
Lol with wp8.1 it fix all issues that people complain except doing real multitasking
No. It came EXTREMELY late to address many things. However still not everything and still needs lots of work.
See! That multi-tasking is what's getting me... utilize the big screen Lumia!
Lumia 1520 :3
why is the lumia background white man?? turn it default black!!
Would you change from a note 3 to a 1520? I like my note 3 but I like to change phones alot and i'm looking for my next one. Or do you think it is worth waiting till a bit later in the new year to see what comes out?
wait for a few months galaxy s5, galaxy f series and note 4 are comming out
Giannis Araba Wait for a few years galaxy s6, galaxy g series and note 5 are coming out ..... I mean don't wait for any device ! Just use what ever you are getting now a days :)
Wait 3 years galaxy s7 is coming out and the note 6 oh and some new Jordan's are coming out so don't buy shoes in 3 years and don't buy cloths in 5 years because new cloths is coming out too oh and a new car is coming out next year so don't buy the new model right now wait oh no wait for a new car in 3 years so is more new then right now also new condoms are coming out so don't use condoms right now wait 3 years
w3r0ification you are not as funny as you think you are.
Nice work. Be interesting to see how the review would stack up with the updated firmware of both devices. I like your style of review so subscribed.
Probably the best tech review I have seen. Thank you :)
Not sure why really but I do enjoy using both everyday
an excellent review and I watch hundreds of reviews...very very in depth informative review I have ever seen
Thanks.
You didn't mention that the Lumia has 3 sub pixles for each pixel and the note doesn't have any
I would like to see this review when the Windows Phone 8.1 update is released!
And you missed some pretty notable features about the 1520 witch actually every Lumia phone has, for instance;
-The typing experience and the keyboard is way better on the Lumia.
-The built in GPS is great.
-When it comes to the durability of the phone and the screen, the Lumia destroys the Note 3.
I had the note 3 just got an 1520 and I'm glad I change love it
Seandai nya nokia lumia pake os android pasti laku keras.
1) The 1520's screen is impressive
2) TouchWiz looks horrible
3) Windows Mobile OS is terrible
That is your problem you are using Windows mobile, Windows Phone however is something different, its awesome.
No, Windows Phone is terrible. I'm not using Windows mobile; I have a Nexus 5.
Hippoman141 Well, when you don't use Windows mobile, how can you say that it is terrible? >.>
Windows Phone and Windows Mobile OS ain't the same thing.. you just make yourself look dumb.
Holy shit, you are morons. Windows Phone is terrible. Windows Mobile OS is terrible.
Good review, except the end. And at the end of the day Nokia Lumia 1520 is the better device.
Thank you. But, still waiting for where I can buy the international version of the Nokia Lumia 1520, please.
you can buy it at Nokia Retailer.
Where is that, please? Thanks!
i don't know.. in Malaysia, Nokia only sell global version. they sell the device in its own nokia store
Can you post that website here for me, bro?
I mean, the retailer store. not online store
I believe the next Lumia is really good enough to combine and upgrade from 1020 and 1520, but going to have the 1520 next month. Yeah...
I am enjoying the phone very much
Dont forget the galaxy note 3 can record 4K ULTRA HD RESOLUTION ... which is 2160p (4 times the resolution of 1080p)
Camera part was wrong. 1520 have those action shot and remove moving objects etc. stuff built in to camera software.
Both have sales. While normally at At&t the 1520 is $200-$250 compare to the $300-$350 of the Note 3. Plus online deals help both.
Finally I got my 1520, its a great phone and just right in front of my eyes.
Your mic is really high pitched in recent reviews it hurts my ears man... Great review as always.
Show running apps on Note 3 without buffering! :/
Reading these comments, you would think Wp and Nokia would have as many sales as Samsung/Note 3. But that's not the case.
Both awesome phones but the Note 3 Is more practical for me. In size, practicality, removable battery, Android and a couple of Samsung's software features.
You saying all that and you don't know how to use any of those the right way.
What? Use what?
Nice video! And awesome quality of the video!
There is no actual app to miss on Markeplace anymore for WP8. Illl go get a 1520 asap. Nuff'said
it's the same comparison as the 920 vs the s3 ,only bigger ,which is good for some folks but honestly it usually comes down to the user him\herself
Honestly I would stay with the note 3 because 80% of the apps work I had a Windows 925 & it has really nice apps but only 20% really worked so for that reason I I had to change it fo a gs3 & it works Great I love it 90% of the apps work and that makes me happy. ..
The Nokia Lumia 1520 is amazing. Im in love with my phone *_*
i'm confuse which is best !!! after reading the whole comments
RIP Nokia Lumia series
RIP Samsung galaxy Note series
Nokia lumia is already dead and samsung galaxy note series are dying now
come on, John, the 'drama shot' (action shot) u r looking for is in the smart camera, which u can switch to that mode by SIMPLY swipe down the icon on your right hand side, you don't need to use creative studio to edit every single photo
BTW, you should really check out the smart shoot mode, there are a bunch of cool shooting modes there
The office pack with the windows phone don't support actually creating a PowerPoint presentation while you can do so in note 3 with downloading this app called Quickoffice hosted by google for free. . With that huge display. You can use the s pen and write down notes. Draw or whatever. And you get all the big names in gaming with it too. . So now tell me what does the lumia have the note 3 doesn't ?? A better camera? I got my dslr for that :D
It's Nokia, not Nokiia ffs
The difference is the tiles are just something different to try.
darkangelss6sic6
As I wrote, the reason I use WP8 is not because I'm bored of the extra features in Android, but because it's better/faster/more effective at the things I do every day.
I like the speed of Note 3. And, Nokia firstly released a 1080p Display Phablet! Wow!
It is $200 cheaper than the Note 3 and One Max.
the knock on the 1520 is the lack of any custom software
its just a giant wp8 device
where as the Note has alot of custom software to take advantage of the size
not to mention the Spen
Both are good in their own aspects... windows is also developing but it would take some time. But really like wp8 :)
I can't help but to feel sorry for Nokia. They have very good phone cameras and specs are now at par with the biggies but sad to say wp8 OS is a big downer. I tried a lumia once, probably the last.
Im disliking your comment with my lumia 920 =)
No need to take a detour through the cloud.
how much did you get for this adver...
What happens if I put t-mobile on a factory unlocked galaxy note 3? Will it work as if is originally from t-mobile?
actually it does work the same
If Nokia Lumia beats the Samsung Galaxy Note I would like to see how it faces off with the iPhone they have to do a different model to compete against it.
iphone?loooooooooooool!
florin9015 I said lets SEE!
lol iphone ...
iPhone? looooooooooooooooooooool
You have to be fucking joking right?
I own both phones, for me the 1520 just a better phone for me, for ME. Note 3, is a nice device and a great phone, just found myself going back to the 1520
Please do the test again, but with Windows 8.1 on Lumia.
Thank you.
How about? Nokia 1520 vs. Samsung Galaxy Mega ?
that true multitasking definitely attributed to the note 3's shorter battery life. it's great, and the overall app switching is better, but it takes a ridiculous amount of power, like when he was watching a video and using the browser at the same time. but that's also where that extra gig of ram shines.
@ 3:25 o.O
thats a nasty looking gauge..
did you drop the phone or something? lol
Outdated video! Windows phone 8.1 features cortana, which increases your experience with Bing
I like both so much it's difficult to make a decision. I feel that if I could have a note 3 with the physical construction of the 1520 it would be absolutely perfect for me.
