There was caste system present before but it was used to increase the divide between people, because dividing Hindu Muslims was not enough division the British hoped for. Without sounding like a racist (I am Indian, btw), are non-whites. The locals are now a minority, and in some ways, I don't like it. If any of our cities were to be overtaking by foreigners (or descendants of foreigners of alien origin and culture) I would certainly be upset.
