Hello everyone, I have been a Professional Photographer since 1973.
I graduated from the School of Modern Photography, and I must mention additional 3 years of Photography studies and Darkroom Techniques while in High School.

**I completely understand buying on eBay is scary. However, when you are ready to buy your camera or lens on ebay, use this checklist I have created...
1) buy from a seller in Japan.
2) they must have 100% positive feedback.
3) they must have at least 100 Feedbacks.
4) the listing must say MINT OR EXC OR WORKING OR TESTED OR LIKE NEW.
5) you must understand the camera will Not be the cheapest one on Ebay.
6) I try to Only buy cameras and lenses from Sellers in Japan

Hello from your northern neighbour. I discovered your channel by happenstance. I'm a Pentaxian dating to my photo retail days circa 1973, so we share both vintage and perspective. I like this video about the K100D and DA 55-300; my equivalents are the K-m (aka K2000 ) and DA-L 55-300, which I think is tack-sharp and a tad lighter (hence the L designation) which I appreciate given my carpel tunnel syndrome. I posted a YT slide show (my preferred media) entitled "Grand River Pollock Trailway Spring, Kitchener ON Canada" which showcases the DA-L, handheld, on a Pentax K-5. Interested readers can find it on TH-cam (I don't know what your policy is re: sharing video links). I concur with your comments on the nature of photography vs. gear and the value in used vs new. (If shared links are OK, I'll edit this post to include it). Thank you for your channel.
The strange thing I noticing while I'm learning to see through camera, is that it is changing my way of seeing the world with my own eyes. I'm starting to notice pictures before I even pointed my camera at them! It is so great to know, that even the most seemingly boring landscape is somehow wonderful. Sometimes, I just don't see its potential. And that's probably OK. I really want to go for a walks with other photographers in the future, to see how two creative people can tell each other about how beautiful their worlds are. And I also like to photograph in days that are seemingly "bad" for that. Results almost always proves I was wrong. Thanks for your awesome video! Photography and art truly lives in Us, not in our tools! 😊

Oh man! Its going to be hard to forget about that Kmart connection. 😂 I have this lens and I’ve had the DA-L version and I’m always surprised how much I use it over my more expensive lenses. A super fun lens.

Thats funny, I had another professional Photographer tell me the same thing. Its not in the equipment, but the creativity thats in you making the pictures. I took a photography class in the 1980's in film.He said with the right instruction you have to develop what he called " the eye" for taking pictures. I appreciate your channel. Thanks

I have the K100D a great CCD sensor camera I use my Tamron 28-200 3.5 - 5.6 lens on the camera I use it for street photography I also have a Tamron 75-300 lens from 2005 I have photographed wildlife. With the firmware update you can use SDHC memory cards which is what I use now.

Carmine thank you for the compliment I have spent many years collecting it I started in the mid 1980's when I had all my gear stolen I started with a Pentax ME Super and a Pentax 35-105 3.5 zoom which I still have and occasionally use as it takes pleasing pictures
