Man, I love the Neo era. Both decks are awesome. The flexibility of the Eeveelutions + Mew to answer evo decks + Dark Porygon 2 to swap stadiums at will. The impervious inflexibility of Steelix powered with defense-buffing Metal Energy. With one more Double Gust or a single coin flip change, the outcome could have been different. What a terrific match! Also, the sportsmanship of reminding the opponent to activate Gold Berry was a sweet cherry on top.
I look forward to seeing this video! Eevee is among my brother’s favorite Pokémon. The typo “Team Rock” in the title may stop it from showing up in people’s searches, however. You probably want to change that before the premier. Hope you and your wife are doing well.
By the way, your older “Team Rocket - Legendary Collection” videos were titled “Team Rocket - Neo.” Those videos might be easier to find if their titles were standardized to use “Legendary Collection” instead of “Neo.”
Feint attack does 30 base damage to the defending pokemon. Each darkness energy adds 10 damage to the defending pokemon so that's 20 extra for a total of 50. And feint attack also ignores all effects on the defending pokemon so the metal energy on steelix does not reduce the damage.
That was an interesting battle to watch. I am always amused by the amount of shuffling in this format. Players don’t seem to dig through their decks as much as they churn through them. What seemed to do seal the fate of the battle was when you (the Eeveelutions player) did not retreat Flareon after not finding the Fire Energy needed to attack again. Retreating would have been an opportunity to preserve valuable resources, stall for time with Mew, and ultimately take another prize card later. Keeping Chaos Gym in play to stop your wife from playing useful Trainer cards like that Warp Point could also have helped. I would like to end on a note of encouragement. I know I make many misplays even when I focus on a handful of decks for a handful of formats, but the two of you play remarkably well given how infrequently you play any one given deck or even any one given format. Being proficient in two metas is difficult enough… being proficient in five or more shows much skill and dedication!
Thank you for reassuring me. I probably should have realized a comment without a question wouldn’t necessarily receive a reply. I’ll need to keep that in mind going forward.
While you play all cards from Base Set onwards why did you refrain from playing Professor Oak and instead play Professor Elm which is a nerfed version of the card? What is the rulemaking logic here?
Oh actually, this game's format isn't base set onward, this is team rocket - legendary collection. this was the first modified format that was introduced so base set through fossil were rotated out and couldn't be used anymore.
Faint attack specifies that the damage is not affected only when attacking the defending pokemon, which is the opponent's active pokemon. the effect does not apply to the bench
@@holon_phantom no its says choose one of your Opponents pokemon! it has nothing to do with bench or active...i know this because i played the deck in 2002 in a league and it was always a topic for the judge and opponents how it works!
@@ZeRetroStuff it also says, "This attack’s damage isn’t affected by Weakness, Resistance, Pokémon Powers, or any other effects on the Defending Pokémon." Defending pokemon is the opponent's active pokemon

These are so well done. Love the retro format also! thank you for the upload.
This kept me on my toes trying to figure out who would win. This is great thank you for sharing these videos

Oops lol
I'll fix it. Thanks for catching that!

16:19 im a little confused why the Umbreon did 50 damage to the steelix? can anyone explain

@@holon_phantom Thank you very much!
Man this was a good one to watch
That steelix build was beefy ! I love steelix in general one of my top 10 favorite Pokemon.
Another amazing video❤ 🎉

Are comments like this too long, @holon_phantom? I can try to keep them shorter going forward if there are too many individual thoughts in this one.
No, it's cool, I don't mind.
I enjoy reading other people's thoughts on my videos
Thank you for reassuring me.

The old format has a low damage output compared to the modern cards but Steelix is a devious tank and being a 1 prize card.
My favorite format 😊

I didn't paint my nails, that was my wife.
Also, there is nothing wrong with men painting their nails, people are allowed to do whatever they want
