WOTC era was so balanced...

Watching this to remind myself how good the game was before people started having to use EX Cards as a crutch for their decks.

I like the long form. It takes a few sittings but I keep coming back to listen to some more gameplay

I love it base to Neo rhenonly and only golden format

Back in school days in late 90s and early 00s these cards were mostly used as cool kid currency with hardly anyone actually playing the game with them. I learned to play this game way later in 2022 or even 2023 and this is pretty fun TCG even with just these early 151 pokemon sets.

Charizard is a cool deck but that gold artwork is just terrible.

Ho-oh/Lugia is a amazing deck.

I kind of wished these videos were recap videos offering a summary of the most interesting moments, rather than just all ten battles back-to-back. Three to four hours is probably longer than most people will watch consecutively. A playlist could achieve the same effect as this video.

These battles are great, but the Pokemon Red battle theme looped over and over again is so mentally draining.

I've never played Pokemon or learnt the rules. Watching these 2 games I've learnt the rules and now really want to make a cool deck!

Whats the difference between maintenace and computer search?

Open qustion: Can Dark Draognair's and (not dark) Viluplume's pokemon's power be used even when they're benched. If so, that implies D,Dargonair's power is to search for an evolution pokemon card EVERY turn even when it's benched. It also less controversially implies you can flip a coin every single turn even though vipleplume is benched to heal 10hp. Or do you restrict this to when they're in play. I ask because it doesn't say "as often as you like"

Love the live view with your format using cards so we can follow along. My main critique is your sound is a bit hard to hear compared to other TCG channels.

I wonder if it would have been wiser to attack Keldeo EX with Donphan’s spinning tail at 8:22, since you would then be able to use a second Lysandre to Knock Out the Shaymin EX with Hawlucha later if you wanted to. Also, this game ended up being an excellent example of why prize checking matters. I’ve only played a few games of this format, but I remember loving the slow pacing of Primal Groudon EX as a deck, and now I find myself wanting to build Donphan. The hit-and-run strategy is fun enough, and I grew up owning cards like Robo Substitute and Focus Sash and not having the right deck to put them in, but seeing Donphan unleash devastating Wrecker attacks (with only manual attachments) was awe-inspiring. I find it funny just how much of the field in 2015 was either Water- or Fighting type (Or Lightning, I suppose, thanks to Night March and Manectric), and yet I still find the decks interesting. Also, it’s Christmas Eve!

Psyduck is a waste for trainer stalling. removing the ducks and the 6 psychic energy would grant Arcanine the extra 10 fire energy it desperately needed when it was trapped.

This takes me back :'( Haven't played Pokemon in years since I was a teenager and the black and white / early X and Y stuff was coming out. A friend of mine was with me last week when we dug up all my old cards from like 2015 and we found my Blastoise / Keldeo deck. Went to the card store the next day and bought a few 5 cent trainers I needed to complete the deck. Now I am teaching my friend how to play. It has been a nice blast from the past. What a great era of Pokemon

I just noticed they use a dice for the coin flips. Do they use 1/2/3 for heads and 4/5/6 for tails? Or is it like even = heads and odd = tails?

Thank you, Holon Phantom. Tomorrow's my birthday, and this particular matchup means a lot to me. I used to play the Rayquaza GX League Battle Deck against my younger brother's Buzzwole GX deck all the time, and your wife even used a Lapras playmat just like I did (I used the HM03's Up one, she the 2024 Worlds one), so this video feels specially tailored for me. I think I may buy the cards I need to fully deproxy my current Rayquaza GX list. Maybe I'll convince my brother to dust off Buzzwole this Christmas season. In any case, I can't see either of these cards or decks without immediately thinking of the games we played together.
