Richardson got so much hype pre-draft. I personally do not see it either. And watching him after he was drafted, I just don't know if he has IT. Plus, who is he going to throw to in Indy? I am so much happier with Hooker in the 3rd than Richardson at 4th overall.

I'm gonna say that Stroud would be my #1 QB off the board. And I think Hooker may be a late 1st rounder, or 2nd for sure. But, for me, Levis and Richardson are being way overhyped. They may have physical qualities and look like an NFL QB on paper, but top tier QBs in the NFL don't come around often. Many are drafted - few pan out. I think media personalities are pushing 2 SEC QBs into top tier QBs, but I'm not sure how many teams are willing to gamble a 1st round selection on projects from KY and FL. We'll see.

He has excelled in a super simple scheme offense. Simple quick reads and never had to go through multiple progressions. Kellen Mond was a similar system player. Super under developed. Hooker is a different player, but evaluate him for what he is today, and understand where his development is, and the mountain he has to climb to be a quality QB in the NFL. Draft position should be reflective of that.

I don't understand that age argument. Oh, a QB is over 24, so he's going to be bad in the NFL.
Just because there hasn't been many good ones above 24, doesn't mean anything because most QBs that come out are usually under 24. So the sample isn't large enough to make any sense of it.
It's like when Russell Wilson came out. There hadn't been many QBs below 6'0 feet, so many people assumed he'll be bad.

I dont see anything Richardson or Levi's have over Hooker besides size. That's pretty much it. They can make all the throws...so could Ryan Leaf....Byron Leftwich...plenty of others drafted for their "prototypical qb" look.

Nah, the fact that they let him fall to the Lions is crazy to me. If we keep Ben Johnson on our squad long term, even mayyyybe make him our head coach, then Hooker could be the next franchise player for the lions.

No way BJ become head coach while MCDC is here. He should stay as OC until the Lions win the Superbowl then he will have better choices and have more time to learn from MCDC.

Really like Hooker and his skill set. If I was GM of the Houston Texans and the owner told me “we need QB at #2”, I would say “trust me - we are FAR better off ignoring the 5’10, 190 lb Bryce Young and instead taking Hendon Hooker later. Young will bust in the NFL, unless he’s surrounded by premium offensive talent the way the Dolphins did for Tua and the Eagles for Hurts. Young would have to make NFL history to be worthy of the #2 pick - let him try it someplace else.

I think Hooker’s age and injury is why he isn’t getting more draft hype. He would of been a 1st round pick if he didn’t get hurt

Ehhhh I feel you are overrating Hendon Hooker. Unfortunately, he isn't better than Levis or Richardson. At least with Levis he will at least be Jay Cutler he has that going for him. Richardson we all know he is a mixture of Lamar and Cam that is actually seen. Hendon Hooker the comps I do not like because we just overrate him with the comps. I look at him and I think he is Byron Leftwich. That is what I see a nice backup that is all. His release to me is way too long. He doesn't have a lot of good QB habits and not enough other things to justify having him out there all the time. I feel he would just get overwhelmed maybe even in the realm of Dwayne Haskins. Either way, definitely not #3 in this class. I would put him no higher than 5 and he could go as low as 9 for me. Just better QBs out there who can develop a lot more cleanly than he can.

I don’t buy into your age BS. Kurt Warner, did he have a problem, no he didn’t. Wonder why maybe the put the players around him. See nothing beats experience Warner or Bart Star, Johnny Unites, Joe Namath, Peyton Manning, and Hendon Hooker. They all got old compared to current players but became Legends. Yes Hendon is just beginning for the Detroit Lions. He was a steal for the Lions. A Heisman candidate that took an injury late. That injury today isn’t a problem. He has more talent than Goff but not experience right now Detroit is headed to win a Super Bowl with Goff and Hooker is learning close up. If Goff doesn’t get hurt which I hope he doesn’t. Hendon will take over in two years or they will trade him to a good team in the AFL.
