This film caused me to no longer support Blake. Shes the problem not him. He wanted to give her the lead from a woman’s POV bc of the DV and instead she took the entire project & turned it into something entirely different then she brought her husband on the set & he literally started changing things. He wanted so hard to bring mens issues to the surface & why they do this instead of asking “why do women stay” he fought for the rights to this movie & the very person he picked as lead (Blake) fought him on EVERYTHING!! Even how he touched her, grabbed her, hugged her etc. He’s stepped back from them not the other way around bc he’s so disappointed in the project that’s now out with his name on it but due to contracts & certain clauses his hands were tied & she knew it.
She is literally trying to give the credit of the film to her husband quietly… and at the same time trying her best to hide the real meaning and message of the movie which is awareness of the dangers of domestic violence
Yes Blake is the ultimate mean girl. Clearly Blake and her husband are trying to make a joke out of everything and that they are all cool. They fool no one and it is obvious they want what they want. this is why movie adaptions from books scare me, because someone always has to "create new details" & completely remove important details from the book. This had the potential to make it ends with us such a powerful movie to help survivors, victims or people who may of lost someone to domestic violence or know someone who is a domestic violence survivor. While I agree someone is more than their trauma and what they have overcome it's still a part of their story. This is just a slap in the face to people who are survivors, victims or know someone who died as a result to domestic violence or know someone who was in a domestic violence relationship. Justin wanted to start conversations to shift the blame from women to the men. We often ask "why do women stay?" instead of asking "why do men harm?". He hopes that if someone sees themselves within lily it can encourage them to get the courage to leave. The trauma someone has from this situation could take years to help someone overcome. Why the cast is downplaying the main point of the book baffles me. It's irresponsible. Blake knows that she has a massive influence on people especially younger adults, and the way she's marketing the book gives these people a false pretense of what to expect. This could be triggering to watch if not given the proper warning. Like I dont care about your hair line, where you got your fashion clothes from, dead pool, the jewelry you're wearing, your friends like Gigi Hadid or Taylor Swift, Ryan and you working on each others projects. Like these are not the point of the movie.
The best PR for Justin is just let Blake do interviews. She is a walking mess celebrating the film like it’s a rom com, not about how serious this topic is. But wow, loves to discuss how her husband worked on it.
I just watched this movie and I want to watch it a few more times. I loved this movie, the cast is beautiful, I’ve never read the book so I can care less about the age of the cast compared to the characters in the book. I’m so sorry it ended the way it did, I had tears in my eyes, that’s why it’s so hard for me to watch it back to back. I hate the news about there being problems between the ones involved in this beautiful movie, please straighten it out people . Hopefully things get straightened out because in my opinion, everyone did a great job. It’s one of those movies that I will watch at least 10 times are more. Be proud of you all’s work. On a scale 1 to 5, I give it a 10. Superb love story. Bravo everyone.

I listened to his Podcrushed interview and he seems like the exact opposite of toxic masculinity - he literally talked about having empathy towards others and paying attention to how your behavior can hurt other people, being emotionally aware and being able to express your feelings, being open about your vulnerability, etc. Honestly, more men should be like him in terms of his emotional intelligence and his emotional maturity - how he has the ability to acknowledge his emotions and vulnerability (and knowing this does NOT make him weak to do so) as well as his ability to take accountability for how his actions/behaviors might be insensitive and hurtful to others.
