That is not how you bleed a brake. New fluid needs to be pushed from the caliper,

Here in Egypt it's as if hydraulic brakes are a sin :) (And there are no tools either)
So this video is actually a life saver because I really thought there was nothing I could do for a month till someone could bring me a proper bleed kit.

From what you're describing, they are self bleeding of air providing there is sufficient fluid in the reservoir. So why do we need to bleed brakes in a sealed system? At $200 per litre, I wouldn't want to just see fluid fly out. Good video though.
