Lived, listened and played professionally since 1969 .. John Mayer is a phenom .. Master guitarist, singer/songwriter and don't let anyone tell you any different .. This is an individual that is one with his guitar and can write a tune effortlessly .. he's as good as they come
John Mayer makes music happen. He executes it like a magical process that makes you leave your feet whenever you hear his compositions. All so beautiful. He's the best that ever did it. I love it. I love him
He didn't play for 3 years. And his voice is just changing. It's maturing just like his music is. If you listen to Paradise Valley, his new album, the music fits his voice perfectly.
He should of had Why Georgia either right after or before with that intro/outro it would fit perfectly with the intro to Why Georgia from Any Given Thursday and that throw back would just be too bad ass
I think this version is groovin! but for all you who think this isnt his greatest performance, just take a look at his eyes for me. it is my personal opinion that he is stoned as hell
Vocally, he does a Dave Mathews thing, which suuuucks. What he does with a six string is genuine gold though. First couple bars of the solo are a perfect example.
Bring me up to date: Did JM have a problem/condition with his voice recently, and he had to not sing or even talk for a while, to recover from an operation?? Is that the gist of it?? Assuming that's the gist of what happened, am I the only one who thinks his voice just doesn't have it anymore, compared to how he used to sing? I feel depressed for him, becasue it's one of thos things, "life happens", and you're changed forever. I relate to that scenario a lot.

I can´t believe he improvised this solo, this is so good that should be on the record.
He improvises nearly every solo. And all are awesome. He is that good
Why can't he play longer solos on the album
Acoustic versions are always different but damn its like he rewrote the song badass
How about that tone ( Alembic ) ?
9 years later this should have way more than half a milli views
Defenetly the best version of « Something like Olivia » a Real Blues Song where she belong.
I feel like the acoustic version of this song works better. But this is pretty cool too.
If he did the acoustic riff it would be sick

I know right!
+Olivia Anderson he says you're both taken. :(
Olivia S why'd you have to Hurt him like that
Nice!
Ok
Aw John a song about mee x
Love this groove. Really nice bass playing by Sean Hurley. John's guitar work on rhythm and then lead is great. The whole thing just bounces.
The way he plays from 1: 46 to 2:12 is better than my life...
that DEAD spirit living inside John is the best we could ask for. playing that Alembic with some groovy stuff, got to love and appreciate
This live version has so much more energy than the album version. Digging it!
John mayer : King of the guitar !!
What a fantastic groove! John Mayer being absolutely amazing like always!
This is the first time I've seen him play an Alembic guitar. Cool!
He didn't play for 3 years. And his voice is just changing. It's maturing just like his music is. If you listen to Paradise Valley, his new album, the music fits his voice perfectly.
That there is an Alembic 'Further' guitar. Looks like John's playing the quilted maple one.
Keep coming back to this, some of John’s best work, he just Rocks!
His rhythm job is absolutely bombastic
John mayer is not only one of the best singers but also one of the best guitarists of our generation, alongside Brad paisley
Keith urban is up there too
He’s not a great singer to be honest. Great player though.
glad he still plays guitar like a legend
he has no idea how good he is
Lmao
Didn’t Eric clapton say that abt John Mayer once
@@sdictson7750 he certainly did
I absolutely LOVE this song now!!!!!! Obviously I've loved your voice for forever!!!!
This is why one should never stereotype active pickups!
John Mayer can make the most simple chord progression, into the tidiest riff.
I love the new vibe these songs have for their first time on the road. The whole show was a surprise (saw him in Atlanta)!
This solo is BB King by Mayer!!Great!!!
greatest show ever
Channeling SRV. Amazing!!
Awesome song, awesome guitar

For everyone asking, this is an Alembic Further guitar... you're welcome.
He should of had Why Georgia either right after or before with that intro/outro it would fit perfectly with the intro to Why Georgia from Any Given Thursday and that throw back would just be too bad ass
The drummer looks like Hopper from Stranger Things
I've BEEN saying that. THANK YOU
I need to know what guitar he’s playing here. I like it. Want to try and find one or something like it.
43 yr old kid is the boss now 😉
As soon as the song finishes, an ad pops up on the side of that Alembic guitar for sale and damn... haha
Good vibe 3
anyone know what kind of guitar he is using? I've never seen one like that
hi olivia, i'm Jealous. So envious to meet you :)
1:46 sweet solo. Short but sweet.
You mean 1:46
Something like Olivier
I think this version is groovin! but for all you who think this isnt his greatest performance, just take a look at his eyes for me. it is my personal opinion that he is stoned as hell
Take a close look at his eyes throughout Where the Light Is, they look just as bad haha. But regardless of his sobriety he always puts on a show
Nah he vowed never to take drugs ever because he saw how much better Stevie Ray Vaughan was off them his eyes always look like that anyways
Yeah he's high as fuck
Joe Pruiett he doesnt smoke pot
@@AP-ui7oi he doesn't do any hard drugs, but fuck ye he smokes pot lol
Lindo...

Visvim. Its a Japanese street clothing line. Very expensive. Lol. Like that jacket is probably 700 bucks.
❤❤❤
nice
Anybody know what the notes are for the wee funky lick?
Love this song but this is a little too fast. Love the studio version pace.
Is me me or is his guitar "off" while he's trying to solo at 4:06? Someone please remix this clip.

An Alembic Further, the kind that Jerry Garcia of The Grateful Dead used.
Oh damn, someone posted that already. My bad.

What the fucking guitar is that
Four years late, but it's an Alembic Further
Vocally, he does a Dave Mathews thing, which suuuucks. What he does with a six string is genuine gold though. First couple bars of the solo are a perfect example.

Anybody know what model of guitar that is?
Alembic Further. Really expensive, unfortunately...
That's Here the guitar www.guitarrez.com/inventory/alguitarinv/alfurmayer.html
aaronlowther1 Thing's tone is so nice.
aaronlowther1 Garcia used similar type of guitar (wolph)
What the heck did he do to the tempo of this song? All the groove and vibe are gone when it is sped up like this.
The groove is still there big time. It's just a different groove. All versions so far are awesome.
Wtf kind of guitar is that?

I really don't like this version but holy hell his skills are impeccable.
