Breathable waders we’re a god sent here in Florida when they came out. Although I have the Frogg Togg zip out insulation which I’ve never used because I can layer and still be warm. My next pair will be the new front zip High and Dry when I need new waders. Great video sir. 👍🏻👍🏻🍺🍺
Great video. I have had the breathable for the last three years and I'm happy with it. I had a sharp stick puncture the boot. so I called the company (Ian) and he was very helpful and provided me with solutions on how to fix the leak. I visited their warehouse in VA a few years ago and can tell you that they stand behind their products.
For my first pair of waders I bought breathable and tried using them in the winter. Immediately I knew I messed up and switched to neoprene, which is what I use for most of my hunts. I kept those breathable ones and use them for warm early season hunts.
I'm so glad I was referred to high n dry from a customer whose lake I was stocking. My problem was store stocked waders were never perfectly my size (hard to find for bigger guys) and at a time, I gained a little too much girth for my Cabela neoprenes. Besides, I'd be dead by the time the fishing trip was over. Just getting into those things was enough to need a nap (yep I was "that guy" that has waders half on in his underwear with his buddies yanking up on the shoulder straps behind him to get the damn things up lol). Juat got my breathable high n dry's yesterday and my world changed... not only did the test fit work beautifully, but I was even able to keep my jeans on underneath! (Although when going out, I'd pick something more flexible than jeans 😂).
Been on the same pair of neoprene Tidewe waters for 3 years now. Definitely got my value out of them. Know several others that have gone over 3 years no issues.
I wouldn't ride with my waders on. I feel like that is asking to get them chewed up but brush and branches. I'd rather let cheaper clothes take the beating.
@TheNewHuntersGuide they come in handy if you're having fun in the ol' mud bog lol. I got stuck once in this thigh deep puddle (it was a 2wd sport quad) and had to walk out... lesson learned 😂😂😂
They said to hose the waders off before putting them away, I assume to get any mud or minerals off that might discolor or weaken the materials over time. Then store them hanging from the boots using a wader hanger or boot rack. Then keep them from extreme heat, cold, or moisture. I hang them in my basement which has a dehumidifier, and they seem to do great.
Breathables are better for walking, because they are lighter to carry in a backpack, haha. Neoprene is about as good as a ball and chain for long distance walking. And they are just as bad to carry.
Do you think the neo’s would hold up better to rub abrasion though? Like walking wear? I’m debating on going back to neos after my first pair of breathables wore out so quick (Roger’s brand)
I’d say 1/4 mile to a mile per hunt ez. Wore out after 1.5 seasons at the top of the boots. From rubbing during walking. Wore a thin line about 3 inches long on each leg between knee and ankle. Rogers brand.
@@paulvorson That shouldn't happen. I wouldn't write off breathables because that set failed. Look at the surviving duck season video he recently did on waders. Alot of what is out there is poor quality.

If you ATV/UTV trail ride in weather 45 degrees and higher?

Long walks wear out breathable between the knees tho so what’s REALLY better for walking?

@@paulvorson The waders would probably last longer than you did. How far are you walking? I've not hold of walking wearing out quality breathables?
