Note: the "5 second rule" was satirized BRILLIANTLY by Eddie Murphy's "Ice Cream" skit...
"you dropped your ice cream...you dropped your ice cream" (Eddie picks up ice cream) "that's just sprinkles!"

Put your chicken in a plastic storage bag, cut a small hole in bottom, close top around water tap and rinse your chicken. Let water run for a couple of minutes. Let all water exit the bag and prepare your fowl.

Even running it under the faucet can still spread bacteria. It harms more than it helps. If you are concerned, you could always take a damp paper cloth and wipe it down.

It’s called putting some water in a bowl along with lime or lemon juice and vinegar let it soak (please add chicken without slam dunking!) drain water boom! There will be no Drizzle or Tsunami in the kitchen! 😂

    My two cents…
I am not here to discredit and disprove what someone else takes the time to post. Just offering my opinion. Washing poultry can spread bacteria through water splashing. Here’s a hint. Turn the water down lower. You don’t need to blast the chicken clean. Raw Chicken comes with a lot of residual ‘scum’” on it. Anyone that has ever boiled raw chicken nose the frothy brown layer that floats to the top. That is crap you don’t want on your dish or in your soup. By washing your chicken ahead of time, it greatly reduces that scum from getting into the flavor of your creation. Before you rinse it rub it down good with a small handful of salt. Get it under as many flaps and in as many crevices as possible then rinse it under a gentle stream. Once you are done it’s always good to use a bleach spray cleaner or sanitize cleaner to spray on the affected and surrounding prep areas. Sure beats the hell out of having chicken packaging and byproduct scum on your delicacy. cleaning your produce has NOTHING to do with getting rid of bacteria!!!
Never bothered to check the credentials of the creators of these threads. Maybe I should look into that one day. Just a lot of false Statements going uncertified yet believed to be cannon.

"You shouldn't wash your raw chicken?" Well...I guess...as long as you don't mind the risk that your "raw chicken" didn't fall on the floor at the meat processing plant, where employees walk around live animals...which DO POOP on whatever floor they happen to be at that time... maybe that meat transport belt which carries A LOT OF OTHER MEAT is pristinely clean...
yeah...how about we wash that meat and sanitizing your hands and surrounding surfaces AFTER washing that meat...
I VOTE for that...how about you???

It also happened that the year the whole 'carrots aid with night vision' thing Britain happened to be experiencing a glut of carrots, so it's likely that the government was saying to the people (particularly children) we know your sick and tired of carrots but see how they're helping the RAF. Oh and here's a recipe for carrot pudding

McDonald’s hamburgers are 100% beef as in from an animal, they don’t tell you there is many parts of the animal including brain. We have a lab at work, our technician did an experiment with her daughter for a science project and took parts of burger from all the different fast food places and made slides and under the microscope could differentiate all the matter into what tissue each part was. Wendy’s had the purest meat and McDonald’s was absolutely last, having brain matter, cartilage and some unidentifiable matter. All can be listed under 100% beef because it is from the cow. Wendy’s was about 85-90% pure meat McDonalds was about 65-70% meat the rest was different tissue.

The ‘don’t clean the chicken rule is bad’. Simply listen to the contradictions concerning how bacteria live with the five second rule vs clean chicken!
What should be said how to properly clean chicken. If you are very sloppy and practice cross-contamination then this I’ll-trending advice is for you. Just how many hands were on that chicken, how many drops on the factory floor, how many things did you touch while preparing that chicken meal?
