- Liquorice Allsorts is a 6.5 week old Black Flying-Fox who was found in a clump of bamboo, all alone.
He's a very late season baby, born 2 months after the majority of the other babies were born.
He's being raised in care till he's old enough to be released through a creche system.
He's a little darling and clearly enjoyed his first taste of fruit.
That moment when you touch a fluffy, pink robe, and get the CUTEST baby chirp in response! I'm in love with Mr. Licorice.
"I dropped my pacifier!" Was what he was saying.

I once was in a very large salvage store. I heard a woman shriek and I turned around and saw her pointing to the ceiling. There flapping back and forth was a bat. While everyone was making scared sounds yelling I did what I thought might work. I propped open the inner door and then held the outer door wide open and waited. I wasn't sure he'd make a run for freedom but I was hopeful. ( maybe he heard my thoughts ) I swear here he comes swoops through the first doorway and finally through the second. I was stunned and overjoyed my plan worked so flawlessly. Since a child I have loved animals. Helping one to safety was one of the most touching moments in my life.

I’ve done the same thing. I had a bat in my house once, so I opened the front door and the back door and left them open. Soon the bat found his way out.
Congratulations on employing common sense while most of the 'adults' displayed the typical infantile attitude toward wild creatures they fear and know nothing about.

When I was a kid, we were stopped in the street because of a garden snake. So I grabbed it by the tip of its tail and flung it over the fence. Combination of underdeveloped frontal lobe (no fear) and a desire to get to my piano to play some music.
He’s so like a toddler. All fingers in his food. The look of sheer delight is heart warming.
He looked at you like "Wow! This is good stuff Mom!"😀
