We have two Bengals. The older one is a male and he says "Hello" when he needs your attention. It starts out rather softly but increases in volume until you respond. Our younger Bengal is a female (2 years old) and she does not like any cupboard doors or drawers closed. She opens them constantly all over the house and snoops inside. Her latest trick is to start our Roomba (a robot vacuum) every morning, sometimes even before the sun comes up. She is one determined kitty! They are both very vocal and wonderful.

My samson is a Norwegian Forest Cat too but I can confirm the badass status. If he doesn't get what he wants right that instance he'll start to be increasingly naughty and with his musclemass it's not uncommon for him to try dragging off my coffee table's sheets (including everything on the table) or steal my sirloin straight from the fridge (he discovered how to open it; giving credit to his inginuity). and no this isn't because he's spoiled.....as a kitten it wasn't uncommon for him to actually climb up to high places via the wallpaper and then whine and mew because he got stuck.
He's gorgeous though....take a stock picture of a lion; then imagine that in small formet and you'll have a spitting imagine of Samson during winter.

I have a Norwegian forest cat to, but he’s not full breed, his mother was a normal tabby cat, and his father was a Norwegian forest cat,
His names biscuit, and when we got him as a kitten we didn’t realise how handsome he would become when he was an adult XD
His big mane, big fluffy tail, and long fur is the most striking part about him, he’s also the brown type of Norwegian forest cat, and hes always anoyying, trying to get us to take him outside (he’s an inside cat and we have been using a harness on him since he was a kitten, to good aswell cause he will always be trying to climb the tree into the neighbours garden lol, he hunts lizards to, but doesn’t kill them, just takes them somewhere then let’s them go, also his favourite place to sleep is in small boxes..... oh god this is very long

    • @Julia_Mwa
      @Julia_Mwa 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Oh and I just remembered a time when he climbed our stairs then started to place his feet on the ceiling fan, as if he was about to jump onto it....
And one time he climbed up onto something very high then started to chew the paint of our wall.... oh and strawberries make him go nuts, I searched it up and apparently strawberries are related to cat nip, normal cat nip doesn’t work on biscuit, it just makes him sleepy
Also we have another cat it our house called melon, and she’s a female, some times you will see them licking each other, it’s usually melon licking biscuit... (biscuits not bothered to lick her) but when it is biscuit licking her, usually it will end in........ him...BITING HER NeCk
Also if I am at least 5 minutes late with his food, he will start meowing and won’t stop
And when I am sleeping, he will come into my room and flop onto my back, chest, orrrrrrr head... then will start purring....

I even cut their umbilical cord and nursed one of them. One day, we made some and thought he would want to eat some, so we put them down on the floor for him. He came over, sniffed it, and seemed interested. He gave it a experimental slap and it popped up because you know…physics? 😂 He got scared of it and from then on whenever we made chicken nuggets and saw us eating them, he would either leave the room or stare at us in awe for eating them. He also said “Hello” super loud in our hallway in the middle of the fricken night and sounded like a small child. 😰

My daughter had a male cat (we had him neutered as a 5 or 6 month old kitten) who was fairly large when he reached adulthood. He was at least part Maine Coon & he was about 15 to 20 pounds from about adulthood until his death when he was about 15 years old. His very favourite thing to do was find a nice warm sunbeam & then roll over onto his back to have a snooze. According to our vet, he had an enlarged heart but other than that, he was in excellent health about 6 or 7 months before he died. The vet figured that his heart just stopped working for some unknown reason. My daughter had been unable to take him with her when she moved far away for work so she wasn’t able to come back home for his funeral. By the time that she did get back home, the spot where we had buried him had been completely blocked off by the lawn cuttings & other household stuff like twigs/branches from a couple of our fruit trees.

She loved taking showers and baths with me...I mean she figured out how ro open doors just so she could jump in with me 😂. I could have long conversations and cuddles with her. She would come when called, walk outside on a leash and harness. I miss her tremendously, unfortunately she had to be put to sleep as she got FIP and became extremely ill. I was mommy and she was my fur baby. I was the first one she saw when she opened her eyes as a kitten and I was there for her in the end and was the last one she saw. I hope all fur babies get a loving home. Cherish them and they will do the same for you. 🥲

I would love to own any one of these cats. My only cat that I purchased was a flame point Siamese kitten(cost me about $100US at the time). She was my baby for 16 yrs. I miss her terribly, but I still have her son. She became sick and ended up with bad arthritic episodes. I knew getting her that siamese tend to be highly vocal, but she was the "quiet" one in the litter, and thought I lucked out. I was proved wrong quickly because that girl could TALK. It wasn't strange to see her dragging anything and anything she deemed gift worthy (from an indoor cat perspective) to my feet, announcing it the entire way the best she could. She even played fetch.
That being said. people do need to realize that cats are a lot like dogs. They have their own breed specific, as well as individual, personalities. That would alleviate many issues of cats, and dogs for that matter, being turned over to shelters/fosters. As much as I loved my cats talkativeness, there were definitely times when it became almost nails on a chalkboard. Research and education is key before adopting any pet, do your best to know what you are getting to make sure it is right for you. Not saying I wont ever own another highly vocal cat, just might not me the best fit for me since I like to enjoy the quiet a good bit. Thank you to all the rescuers out there. My youngest cat is my rescue, she will be 3 soon!

Thank you for that. They need homes so badly. If a person is patient and keeps looking, they can get full blooded kittens or cats at shelters and rescues sometimes. Some rescues (like the one I worked at for years) specialize in specific breeds. Most also take in other types, too, though. I agree with you about giving shelter kitties homes, though I understand people's need to keep specific breeds going. Different cat breeds often have attributes that work well with people's different lifestyles and needs/wants. I love all cats, personally.

I rescued my Turkish Angora from a shelter. He was given up because his parents didn’t like his white fur. They spent $1500 on him and then dumped him. When he was left at the shelter, he became depressed and stopped eating. He basically gave up on life. When I found him, he was hours away from death. I syringed fed him for 4 weeks before he got better.
I didn’t know that my cat (his name is Puff) was even a pedigree until after I adopted him. I don’t love him because I have a paper with his lineage. I love him because he’s incredibly sweet, cuddly, and outspoken. He gave up on life when his old family abandoned him. I gave him the will to live because of the love I gave him.
My point is that not all pedigree cat owners purchased their cat. Some of them are rescued. It’s not fair to assume that people are bad or not being fair to shelter kittens if they own a pedigree.

@@danisareyka4891 Thank you for rescuing your baby. I understand why some people feel that way, although it is a generalization. Many breeders downright hate people with that outlook. I'm in the middle. I fostered an Abyssinian kitten who I adopted to a wonderful couple who had just adopted a bengal kitten the week before at the pound. His owner bought him for his looks without doing any research and he was too hyper and athletic for them to handle. The couple who adopted him wanted to get him a friend because he was depressed, so they came to our adoption event. They didn't care about lineage, but I thought it would be a good idea to do a trial adoption because Abyssinians are also high energy and athletic. They loved the breed and were shocked to find one only a week after finding a Bengal. Long story short, the two were instant besties and the couple formally adopted my little Arturo (who loved giving hugs). I ended up adopting an Abyssinian that I fostered a few years later. We didn't know her lineage, as she was only 4 weeks old when she was brought to me. Someone had thrown her out of a car window and a lady and her son saw it, and rescued her. She came to me with a broken leg and the vet said to keep her calm until it healed. No doing! As she got older and came into her look, I found out why. Her leg healed just fine and now she climbs the walls. I love her because of our bond, not her breed.

I've always found it strange that whenever I hear about the Khao Manee it's always that they came into America in 1999. I find that rather funny as I saw and handled kittens in the mid 1960. My mother had a friend down in Maryland who bred Persians to Siamese cats and produced short haired white cats with one yellow/gold eye and one blue. The ears were lightly furred and pink in color as were the nose and paw pads. So I don't really know if they were similar to Khao Manee genetically or not but in looks they did. I even brought a kitten home when I returned to Ma.

I miss my “Baby”. She passed a few years ago. She was a TurkishVan-Manx. She was white with a thick coat different colored eyes with a typical van color only on her ears and part head as well as her bum. Being a Manx she had no tail so her bum was just dark. She didn’t meow. She would make a baby noise so I called her baby.

I was Hoping that you would include the Snowshoe breed in your list, and if Cat Lovers knew just how loving and cuddly the Snowshoe really is, it would be in the top 10 most popular breeds in the World. I can say without a doubt, that the Snowshoe is the most affectionate of ALL domesticated cat breed on Earth. I had a SNowshoe who was my baby Girl and my single most loved cat I have EVER had. I can say that without a doubt, there ISN'T a time when they are not up to being cuddled and loved. My Girl ( I named her Mandy) was the most loving Cat I have ever had. When I talked to other Owners of SNowshoe cats, they confirmed the same thing. THEY ARE the MOST LOVING and HUMAN ORIENTATED CAT BREED EVER to be Bred and registered. Which is right up my alley, The more cuddly the better, for me anyways. Gentle, soft spoken, kind and Loving, you will never have to worry about them being aloof and uninterested in affection, quite the opposite!

Yeaahhh struck me as quite a bit out of line?
What's wrong with that kind of behavior? Human beings are inherently a social species and isolation can cause severe mental health issues (which could lead to physical issues). It strikes me as weirdly condescending to look down upon someone for acting exactly like one would expect an extremely social species to act. Most people just bottle up their feelings which is neither healthy for them or for any relationships. Good on anyone who calls this out / reaches out for doing so.

She could be easily considered a rare cat. She had the fold gene (the one of scottish fold) despite being a moggy. Her ears were identical to those of Niu Nai, the black Scottish Fold with heterocromia.
The fold gene is rare outside the SF breed.
