I am a mandir and moorti admirer. This will help expand and extend my considerable portfolio of sculptures. thank you
You’ll love the other temples as well. Frankly my list had more places that I couldn’t cover. I’ve included the Google maps list in the description and you can use that as reference. Have a good trip there :)
@@SiddharthaJoshiFilms One life is not at all sufficient to cover even any one state of India. Talking to locals gives lots of input to what one should explore. One such interaction more than 30 years ago gave us a new hill station to explore 'Yercaud'. Not many people outside Tamil Nadu know it still. The first time I visited it was really very raw, but after 25 years a few more advances were visible, like the presence of a petrol pump, and milk availability in the evening. Another interaction with the autorickshaw driver gave us a beautiful boating experience. Mavinkurve in Karnataka, near Honnavar. By road apparently, you have to travel around 20 km but by a rowing boat several minutes and a short distance. I visited twice. The first time was glorious. During boating we got to see a train running across a bridge over the Konkan railway.

Siddharta Joshi, I am over 85 years old an American of Indian/ Hindu heritage living in USA for over 50 years. I enjoy your narration of our precious Hindu heritage. Please do me and others a favor: tell your sponsors to CUT OUT THAT MUSIC when you narrate. It distracts and drowns out your voice. Thanks.
You are right, and I also thought about it. Unfortunately, I realised that it’s much harder to do it all when I’m doing everything by myself. Also I usually spend 4-5 days in each city and shoot through the day - I’m not used to wearing dhoti all day long so it’ll get quite difficult.
Beautiful video! Most of the times one visit to such places is not enough, everytime we discover something different about these places. They have their own soul. Thank you Sidhartha for taking us on this visually pleasing soulful journey ( Saptapuri).

Thank you Siddhartha. Very informative and nicely done. So many thanks from Aasthikas for making such a wonderful video ! Adi Shankaracharya lived 2500 years ago ~ 400BC. Not in eight century. You went to Shankara Mutt .The details are given there . Also he established five mutts not four.
You are absolutely right the Mutt mentions a much older date. However, most historians date Shankaracharya to 7-8th century CE - that’s not my opinion. Similarly, there are two opinions on the number of mutts he established, with 4 being the general consensus. At Kanchi though, most believe otherwise.
@@SiddharthaJoshiFilms Being at Kanchi Mutt you should at the very least present their view point. Else it reflects that even after going there you are convinced that the other view is correct. If you so very want to present the so called historians view you should not be going to the Kanchi Mutt at Kanchi. The historian and Wikipedia information on Adi Shankara is incorrect propagated by so called peetams to forward their vested interests. This has been a long standing contentious issue in such cases a balanced view should be presented.
@@srikamakoti I really can’t argue on this as I’m not a historian myself and can only rely on published research. 400 BCE is incredibly old and predates even Mauryan times. Unless I’m mistaken, we don’t yet have historical/ archeological evidence to date Shankaracharya at that time. I’m no one to deny that he did belong at that time - it’s the job of archeologists and historians. If I were to make a video about Adi Shankaracharya, I might try and present divergent views, but that’s not the intent here. He’s an important part in the history of Kanchi so he’s an essential part of this video. And I’ve presented the most widely accepted opinion on when he lived. That’s all.
@@SiddharthaJoshiFilms We have so much of historical evidence in terms of publications etc. There is no historical evidence that he was in CE. When you rightly pointed out that he attained samadhi in Kanchipuram, I am sure people who told you that would have told you the approximate date also. Your video your camera in movement momentarily captured the board in Matam that has all the details. Even if you had covered it saying this is the point view held by the Matam, it would be sufficient. Anyway this is just a vlog not a research paper.
