What scares me the most about this cover of Game Over is that hypothetically, this could actually be played on an actual SEGA Genesis.
All we need now is the instrumental to be a Genesis/Megadrive remix. It's perfect enough as is, but if the instrumental was a SEGA Genesis remix instead, it'd be way better imo.

My favorite thing about this is the Game Over Screen! It looks so good, and somebody should actually draw a Sprite Sheet based off of the Game Over Screen!!
one thing i love is how people canonicalize lord x as a cunning prankster, the kind who will willingly toy with their target, and this animation shows that with the direction it takes compared to the original, while mx is dead serious, never flinching from boyfriend, and from start to finish is dead set on killing, lord x has a much more playful side, going out of his way to do unnecessary things.
like how at the start MX just stares down bf, with the full intention to deceive as a sneak attack, and as the fight goes on he gives up and just starts chasing, while lord x just seems to want to play around with BF giving obvious clues he's not actually sonic, making funny faces,
or when bf hides from MX because i can only assume due to the fact MX is actually a threatening presence that doesn't seem to want anything but to kill, meanwhile BF faces off against lord x, probably because lord x isn't as...dedicated to killing? if bf tried to face off against MX, he would be dead, but at least lord x will humor him for a bit.
I like how at this part 0:58 (phase 2) Sonic’s right pose is like, “look at this kid who is about to get clapped.”

how has no one mentioned the sprites changing in you cant run section? bf is all confident because he is outrunning him but when lord x gets closer he starts getting scared. pretty hard detail to notice but that shows how much effort is put into the mod! as well as bf's sprite changing when faker X turns into execution sprites he becomes worried.
Imagine if a version of this was built for an actual Genesis game.
