everyone in California is going to have their rates jacked up now
we have to get the government out of everything
im tired of being taxed over and over and over again
while the elite do not have to pay income taxes and get tax hand outs

The rich do pay plenty of taxes, but they're rich so they'll be good. I fully agree about the government getting involved in far too much and making everything far more expensive

@@guadalupe8589 you should look up how much the rich avoid in taxes.... its more than some states make!!!
if we all paid the same percentage thats all im asking for

Everyone is on the 'fair plan.'
... 'I'm from the government, and I'm here to help.
Everyone will be on Americas FastTrack 'Nomad plan' towards unaffordable housing quicker than you can say 'bottom dollar.

Here comes the premium increase. When my area was deemed as prone to flood my payment increased to 8k or so off the bat. I had to look for another insurance and found one but still was higher than before.

When I moved from Cotati, CA to the northern Arizona town of Chino Valley, my home insurance dropped to $64 a month

State Farm CEO made 24 million in 2023. Hmmm.
Allstate CEO made 16 million in 2023.
But they can’t afford to pay out for the homes that they insured.

You the only one talking about the massive profits and salary these CEOS are making. We need to start going after these type of corporations and capping what these ceos and board members can make. We need to get back to what's best for the people, not the rich ceos

@ all these different insurance companies, denying claims, and pocketing our money that we put in. So they can buy their yachts and take their big vacations multiple times a year. While we struggle.

@@kyleclem0520 But this legislation isn't helping. When you force insurers to insure fire prone wilderness, you are forcing them to take a loss whenever there is a fire. If California becomes unprofitable, then the insurer leaves the state. Insurance only exists because profit exists.

Considering a house costs like a million these days.. YEAH they literally can't afford to pay for the homes insured.
You're whining they're getting paid 16-24 claims worth of compensation. Those companies are on thin ice. If I was a CEO I would think the next wildfire would outright bankrupt the entire company. These CEOs are one neighborhood of fires of losing that money.

Similar with auto insurance. I got a quote to insure my 20 yrs old daughter with 3 yrs driving experience, and annual premium comes to about $6,000. That's ridiculous.

Stop using the big name insurance companies. Call an independent agent and get three times the options. Also the biggest issue with rate increases is always insurance departments who won't let companies customize their policies. Meaning they MAKE companies insure these high risk areas. They don't have a choice what the policy covers because the state declines their request, which would give you price options.

Wooden houses in a fire zone are total losses waiting to happen. Better solution, live in a concrete bunker with no windows and a heavy steel door. Actually, that's a joke, but my point is that you should expect a fire, and build a house that will resist fire. A fire resistant house doesn't have to be a concrete bunker.

So the insurance companies increase everyone’s rates to cover losses in disaster prone areas - basically FL and CA.
    Better solution? Move.
