Funny enough I always suspected that Pinky was sufreing from something similar, just something trigger my detective mode and started to connect dots. It's been a time but I'm all most certain that suspicion of Pinky being well Pinky was possible because of an imbalance in magic. Surprisingly this idea came because of a DXD fanfiction that I had been reading, in wich they declared that if a devil, angel or fallen angel lose their wings for what ever motive they cannot use their magic well, lose a chunk of there power or can't use magic all together. And the wings are important in that society meaning that if a devil had underdeveloped wings magic for them have secondary effects
I'm so sorry, you mentioned Flurryheart and I kinda wanted to rant about her for a moment. Her introduction confused the entire fanbase. ESPECIALLY Celestia and Luna's reaction to her birth. It was assumed that Celestia and Luna were born alicorns but I guess not?? And then we didn't really get an explanation for it. Like... not much is really known about Celestia and Luna and Flurry's birth could've been a chance for them to expand upon their background a bit and tell us something about those 2 OTHER than the whole Nightmare Moon thing. On top of that, Flurry wasn't really shown in any other episodes other than her introduction. I think she was either mentioned or shown for a few seconds like... 3 or 4 more times after that episode. I just think that something as big as a natural born alicorn being introduced in the show is a good opportunity to develop the story a tiny bit just to figure out how and why she happened or even make her a target to the villains in the show, since she's kinda rare I guess. I know the show was made for kids but with how many adults also watch the show, I would think that they would work on the story a bit more. I know there are comics, I haven't read them so I don't really know if more of Celestia and Luna's background was shown or if Flurry ever got the spotlight. Also I love your artstyle, it's so cute and I just love the redesigns

I feel like this takes away what characters signifying, rainbow dash is obviously a tomboy. Everyone seems to make her and AJ guys, just for being a bit more masculine, but that's the point, there suppose to be masculine girls. As a tomboy as a kid Rainbow Dash was always that one character I related too, for the simple fact that she was a girl that like doing what typical "boys" like, but was still a girl.

I don't really know how I feel about the redesigns while thinking of them as the characters, but I can say for certain that they're very cute stylistically! And I respect any and all headcanons and redesigns regardless of how I'm feeling about them. They're adorable and fluffy and I love them! My favorite is Pinkie, she reminds me of Sylveon (but if a Sylveon was cake/cupcake!!!) :) Also I love the voiceover and the personality, so this is an epic awesome video.
All these designs are pretty good. Fluttershy and Applejack especially look amazing. I think the only problem I can think of is their increased complexity making animation a headache. Would be less of a problem in 3D though. I also agree on the cutie marks. The real Pinkie's mark kind of works to get across her party-planner talent, and Rainbow Dash's one obviously didn't need much though the sonic rainboom ring you added is a nice touch. But then your version of Rarity's especially really gets across her talent a lot better. Also, having a male character like you Applejack is really a good idea. I mean, they did it in gen 5 with Hitch, so obviously Hasbro has learned that already.
AJ is just a She/He apple horse, and that's okay. Gender is weird lol. He came out really nice, and I think she's my favorite design. Its so unique yet feels so in-sync w/ the OG vibe

Katrina Hadley, a director, said, and I quote, "We thought their conflict felt a little like a lovers quarrel rather than a friend fight as written. So we played it that way, but rode the line so the viewer could interpret it as either a relationship. But internally, yeah, we were Rarijack shipping." What that officially makes it is *semi*-canon. As in, it was stated to be something that they thought of, but never made official. They literally said it was up to interpretation on purpose. i think they’re saying lesbian erasure because appledash is 100% canon and confirmed by the creators, not because of rarijack. In the hasbro mlp game applejack’s description says, regarding her future, “a loyal relationship seems likely”, and rainbow dash’s says “an honest future”, as well as the fact they live together in the epilogue. It’s canon at that point. I will say that if they headcanon applejack as transMASC, it isn’t lesbian erasure. But if they headcanon applejack as a trans MAN, then it absolutely is.
sure, both of these ships are said by the director that they’re “for interpretation” but we all know for a fact that’s because of outrage from bronies and homophobic parents. Rarijack was only shipped behind the scenes but appledash is MEANT to be perceived as canon regardless of if they say it’s up for interpretation, because the voice actress of both characters made a post as if it were canon, and post-epilogue material seems to confirm it.
@marsb0t I'm looking through whatever I can find, and the only thing I can find is once again the show creators saying it's "up to interpretation" if AppleDash is canon. This is by Jim Miller, the director of the series. The only crew member quoted as saying it's "100% canon" is Ashleigh Ball, the voice actress for both AJ and RD. And as much as I love and respect VAs, as characters can't be brought to life without them, the active word of a director, in my opinion, will trump a VA in canon. If Ball had said it, and no one else in the crew said something otherwise, I would 100% agree with you. However, I believe in an hierarchy of canon confirmation. The more directly involved you are with the writing of the show itself, the more 'canon' it is. The *only* people who have absolute authority are the writers, and above them, the creator. However, a director's job is literally to make sure the show is going in the intended direction. Which means that they're only a bit below them. A VA can give canon facts, yes, but if someone with more authority in the production of the show overrides it, it becomes the level of fanon speculation. I will absolutely say here, I have no problem with fanon. I'm a fanfic author, I literally run on fanon. However, I also respect the difference between fanon and canon. Because even if you don't like a person who made the canon or the canon itself, it's still canon. There's nothing wrong with fanon, but that also means acknowledging that this creator's fanon of AJ being a trans man isn't lesbian erasure because there is NO CANON to AJ being a lesbian. And believe me, I looked extensively.

Yours is equally valid, and just a tiny bit looser than mine. The point I'm trying to make, though, is that I feel like people are being extremely unfair to the artist, as they're acting as though what he's done is a solid sin against the fandom. Which, if AJ was canonically and clearly stated, either by the creators and crew or by the content itself, to be in a completely and undeniably lesbian relationship, I would agree that it's at least a not-cool move. However, without that evidence, I just see it as one part of the fandom (even if it's a large part) and their fanon vs. his. And, with how things stand, in my opinion, it leans in favor of him being equally valid in his interpretation. People, of course, don't have to agree with me. I haven't said anything other than the facts and evidence that have been put out there by the creators and crew. And when asked, because you do make a valid point that we have different interpretations of what makes something canon, I explained what my definition of it is. Again, it's valid for someone to have a different definition of it. It doesn't automatically make me or anyone else right or wrong. All I'm really trying to do is make people really think about why they're getting so upset at a small creator (not a sleight on him, that is simply based on engagement of his video) giving his own interpretation of a character.

I think Celestia and Luna were made into alicorns by starswirl the bearded, they had all of the powers of earth, pegasi, and unicorn, starswirl saw an opportunity in these super powerful unicorns and made them more powerful, and into the perfect leaders for generations.
Self-correction, I know Luna wasn't perfect, but she was for a long time until she became jealous of the attention her big sister was gaining from being princess of the sun.
I will admit I agree with that point on twilight in the finale. I wish that she didn’t just become purple celestia to put it simply because if that’s how being an alicorn worked Cadence and especially Luna would look like that as well. One detail I remember liking is that when she did become an alicorn she kept her usual look she was just slightly taller than her friends, I assumed that because she was new she was smaller than the other 3.
Cadence could have been made into an alicorn fairly recently, but a good while before twilight, and she already had a strong, lanky build. Luna was a younger sister, as the show went on and Luna eventually came back into the forefront, she had obviously gone through some changes as she got older in the background.

MLP headcanons: Fluttershy: Practices alternative medicine and is a homeopath but sometimes goes to medical centres when in dire need. Because of this, she got some back pain and went to a chiropractor who, while helping her height and pain, made it more difficult to fly with her wings after a long period of time. Meaning she usually walks or used her wings for other things than flying because she'll just be in pain after a few minutes of being in the air. Rainbow Dash: Dropped out of school due to the education system not adjusting itself to the way she learns things. Has undiagnosed A.D.H.D. Rainbow Dash also has a cousin who went to Marehatten to become a sports commentator and team manager after an injury while flying in a race resulted in her being unable to fly for the rest of his life. He soon explored sports and started participating in triathalons and olypmics before switching to team management after another injury meant they'd have to no longer play sports permanently. Rainbow Dash still is in contact with her cousin after her family casually and synonymously disown her cousin without saying it out loud. They don't hate him exactly but he doesn't fit into their expectations as a part of their family. Rainbow Dash usually comes over to Marehatten with her pet turtle so they can play with their cousin together. Rarity: Has a background of old money, her parents mostly use said money for vacation while Rarity and Sweetie Belle save said money for themselves and mainly live in ponyville due to cheaper land mean a lot of money is left over for personal needs and wants. Applejack: Has a business relationship with her neighbour, Carrot Top, who they both fund for a pear farm in another part of Ponyville. For Carrot Top, it's for money and business purposes. For Applejack, it's for the fact that he doesn't know much about his mother or grandfather besides them being a pear family. Noticing how it affects Granny Smith, he decided to open the pear orchard in secret as an ode to his mother who he doesn't know much about. Twilight: Magic Kindergarten was traumatising for her. Not that it's because she used to be dumb but because she just wasn't as smart as the others. The other kids usually picked on her and downplayed her achievements in magic despite them being incredible. This lead to a lack of self-esteem until she met moondancer who has the same amount of intellect but has a backbone. With moondancer, they got along through school grades but sadly went to different high schools and academies, losing touch. Twilight than became a bad friend since the only one she considered was special to her was moondancer, others didn't seem to meet up with her standards and so she valued her own personal time in studies rather than her clique. She got back in touch with moondancer before being sent to ponyville, but because of their differences growing up they also cut contact. Pinke Pie: She's adopted, having been born from a forbidden relationship from a draconaquies and an Apple (a member of Applejack's family) and was sent to the pie family Superman style. The pies brought her up carefully but due to a famine and bad soil they had to switch to a rock farm instead of a wheat farm. The parents became geneologists and brought up Pinkie's sisters to follow that course except for Pinkie who just kept to the same expectation as a rock farmer. After the rainboom and getting her talent, she decided to travel the world after a party which exhausted her family, she began raking in money via street performances before being hired by the cakes at sugar cube corner where she keeps in contact via a phone she gifted to Maud Pie.
I love how colourful they all are! Especially as Rainbow Dash finally looks like a smug, not exclusively sporty in her smugness type. Flutters and AJ show that you can overhaul a design and yet keep the iconic pieces.

I’m not educated on anything that has to do with wlw bc I’m a bi trans dude so correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t lesbian erasure be making a canonically lesbian applejack a straight girl? Here’s the definition of lesbian erasure I found: “Lesbian erasure is the tendency to ignore, delete, falsify, or restate evidence of lesbian women and relationships in history, academia, the news media, and other primary sources. I don't take MOST of the hate comments I get seriously, and yes I will sometimes just mock those people. Since 60% of the people here have clearly never heard the concept of "If you don't have something nice to say then don't say it" those people get to experience the consequences of their own actions. I don't see why those who want to hurt others just for the sake of it should go unpunished- it's not like anything I say back to them actually bothers them, and if it does GREAT, they learned their lesson on why we don't just say sh!t strangers on the internet. If my view point is something you can't support I totally get it, a younger version of myself would probably feel similar. But I'm a strong believer that you shouldn't dish out what you can't take- If you can't handle the negativity you get back after putting your own negativity into the world then the internet really isn't the place for you.

Ah yes, the classic ‘this character can’t be trans cause it’s cliche’. Masculine trans guys exist my dude. The amount of people who just don’t comprehend that trans guys arent just femboys. I feel like this takes away what characters signifying, rainbow dash is obviously a tomboy. Everyone seems to make her and AJ guys, just for being a bit more masculine, but that's the point, there suppose to be masculine girls. As a tomboy as a kid Rainbow Dash was always that one character I related too, for the simple fact that she was a girl that like doing what typical "boys" like, but was still a girl.

I don't really know how I feel about the redesigns while thinking of them as the characters, but I can say for certain that they're very cute stylistically! And I respect any and all headcanons and redesigns regardless of how I'm feeling about them.
They're adorable and fluffy and I love them! My favorite is Pinkie, she reminds me of Sylveon (but if a Sylveon was cake/cupcake!!!) :)
Also I love the voiceover and the personality, so this is an epic awesome video.

All these designs are pretty good. Fluttershy and Applejack especially look amazing. I think the only problem I can think of is their increased complexity making animation a headache. Would be less of a problem in 3D though.
I also agree on the cutie marks. The real Pinkie's mark kind of works to get across her party-planner talent, and Rainbow Dash's one obviously didn't need much though the sonic rainboom ring you added is a nice touch. But then your version of Rarity's especially really gets across her talent a lot better.
Also, having a male character like you Applejack is really a good idea. I mean, they did it in gen 5 with Hitch, so obviously Hasbro has learned that already.

So this comment section was so polarizing I had to look things up, because I have been out of the fandom so long I feel like it needed fresh eyes. It is NOT canon that AJ and Rarity are a couple. Katrina Hadley, a director, said, and I quote, "We thought their conflict felt a little like a lovers quarrel rather than a friend fight as written. So we played it that way, but rode the line so the viewer could interpret it as either a relationship. But internally, yeah, we were Rarijack shipping." What that officially makes it is *semi*-canon. As in, it was stated to be something that they thought of, but never made official. They literally said it was up to interpretation on purpose. So everyone please stop coming at him for 'lesbian erasure.'

In the hasbro mlp game applejack’s description says, regarding her future, “a loyal relationship seems likely”, and rainbow dash’s says “an honest future”, as well as the fact they live together in the epilogue. It’s canon at that point.
I will say that if they headcanon applejack as transMASC, it isn’t lesbian erasure. But if they headcanon applejack as a trans MAN, then it absolutely is.
sure, both of these ships are said by the director that they’re “for interpretation” but we all know for a fact that’s because of outrage from bronies and homophobic parents. Rarijack was only shipped behind the scenes but appledash is MEANT to be perceived as canon regardless of if they say it’s up for interpretation, because the voice actress of both characters made a post as if it were canon, and post-epilogue material seems to confirm it.
@marsb0t I'm looking through whatever I can find, and the only thing I can find is once again the show creators saying it's "up to interpretation" if AppleDash is canon. This is by Jim Miller, the director of the series. The only crew member quoted as saying it's "100% canon" is Ashleigh Ball, the voice actress for both AJ and RD. And as much as I love and respect VAs, as characters can't be brought to life without them, the active word of a director, in my opinion, will trump a VA in canon.
If Ball had said it, and no one else in the crew said something otherwise, I would 100% agree with you. However, I believe in an hierarchy of canon confirmation. The more directly involved you are with the writing of the show itself, the more 'canon' it is. The *only* people who have absolute authority are the writers, and above them, the creator. However, a director's job is literally to make sure the show is going in the intended direction. Which means that they're only a bit below them. A VA can give canon facts, yes, but if someone with more authority in the production of the show overrides it, it becomes the level of fanon speculation.
I will absolutely say here, I have no problem with fanon. I'm a fanfic author, I literally run on fanon. However, I also respect the difference between fanon and canon. Because even if you don't like a person who made the canon or the canon itself, it's still canon. There's nothing wrong with fanon, but that also means acknowledging that this creator's fanon of AJ being a trans man isn't lesbian erasure because there is NO CANON to AJ being a lesbian. And believe me, I looked extensively.

What I consider concrete is the post-epilogue content continuing to reiterate appledash as being a romantic relationship. I think it’s sloppy, and I don’t care for the ship that much, but it’s clear that although the director says it’s up for interpretation, the intention was for them to seem like they’re in a relationship.
@marsb0t I can understand that. I think we just have a different view on what we view as being enough 'evidence' to say something definitively. Which, of course, there's nothing wrong with. Yours is equally valid, and just a tiny bit looser than mine.
The point I'm trying to make, though, is that I feel like people are being extremely unfair to the artist, as they're acting as though what he's done is a solid sin against the fandom. Which, if AJ was canonically and clearly stated, either by the creators and crew or by the content itself, to be in a completely and undeniably lesbian relationship, I would agree that it's at least a not-cool move. However, without that evidence, I just see it as one part of the fandom (even if it's a large part) and their fanon vs. his. And, with how things stand, in my opinion, it leans in favor of him being equally valid in his interpretation.
People, of course, don't have to agree with me. I haven't said anything other than the facts and evidence that have been put out there by the creators and crew. And when asked, because you do make a valid point that we have different interpretations of what makes something canon, I explained what my definition of it is. Again, it's valid for someone to have a different definition of it. It doesn't automatically make me or anyone else right or wrong. All I'm really trying to do is make people really think about why they're getting so upset at a small creator (not a sleight on him, that is simply based on engagement of his video) giving his own interpretation of a character.

I think Celestia and Luna were made into alicorns by starswirl the bearded, they had all of the powers of earth, pegasi, and unicorn, starswirl saw an opportunity in these super powerful unicorns and made them more powerful, and into the perfect leaders for generations.
Self-correction, I know Luna wasn't perfect, but she was for a long time until she became jealous of the attention her big sister was gaining from being princess of the sun.
I will admit I agree with that point on twilight in the finale. I wish that she didn’t just become purple celestia to put it simply because if that’s how being an alicorn worked Cadence and especially Luna would look like that as well. One detail I remember liking is that when she did become an alicorn she kept her usual look she was just slightly taller than her friends, I assumed that because she was new she was smaller than the other 3.
Cadence could have been made into an alicorn fairly recently, but a good while before twilight, and she already had a strong, lanky build. Luna was a younger sister, as the show went on and Luna eventually came back into the forefront, she had obviously gone through some changes as she got older in the background.

MLP headcanons:
Fluttershy: Practices alternative medicine and is a homeopath but sometimes goes to medical centres when in dire need. Because of this, she got some back pain and went to a chiropractor who, while helping her height and pain, made it more difficult to fly with her wings after a long period of time. Meaning she usually walks or used her wings for other things than flying because she'll just be in pain after a few minutes of being in the air.
Rainbow Dash: Dropped out of school due to the education system not adjusting itself to the way she learns things. Has undiagnosed A.D.H.D. Rainbow Dash also has a cousin who went to Marehatten to become a sports commentator and team manager after an injury while flying in a race resulted in her being unable to fly for the rest of his life. He soon explored sports and started participating in triathalons and olypmics before switching to team management after another injury meant they'd have to no longer play sports permanently. Rainbow Dash still is in contact with her cousin after her family casually and synonymously disown her cousin without saying it out loud. They don't hate him exactly but he doesn't fit into their expectations as a part of their family. Rainbow Dash usually comes over to Marehatten with her pet turtle so they can play with their cousin together.
Rarity: Has a background of old money, her parents mostly use said money for vacation while Rarity and Sweetie Belle save said money for themselves and mainly live in ponyville due to cheaper land mean a lot of money is left over for personal needs and wants.
Applejack: Has a business relationship with her neighbour, Carrot Top, who they both fund for a pear farm in another part of Ponyville. For Carrot Top, it's for money and business purposes. For Applejack, it's for the fact that he doesn't know much about his mother or grandfather besides them being a pear family. Noticing how it affects Granny Smith, he decided to open the pear orchard in secret as an ode to his mother who he doesn't know much about.
Twilight: Magic Kindergarten was traumatising for her. Not that it's because she used to be dumb but because she just wasn't as smart as the others. The other kids usually picked on her and downplayed her achievements in magic despite them being incredible. This lead to a lack of self-esteem until she met moondancer who has the same amount of intellect but has a backbone. With moondancer, they got along through school grades but sadly went to different high schools and academies, losing touch. Twilight than became a bad friend since the only one she considered was special to her was moondancer, others didn't seem to meet up with her standards and so she valued her own personal time in studies rather than her clique. She got back in touch with moondancer before being sent to ponyville, but because of their differences growing up they also cut contact.
Pinke Pie: She's adopted, having been born from a forbidden relationship from a draconaquies and an Apple (a member of Applejack's family) and was sent to the pie family Superman style. The pies brought her up carefully but due to a famine and bad soil they had to switch to a rock farm instead of a wheat farm. The parents became geneologists and brought up Pinkie's sisters to follow that course except for Pinkie who just kept to the same expectation as a rock farmer. After the rainboom and getting her talent, she decided to travel the world after a party which exhausted her family, she began raking in money via street performances before being hired by the cakes at sugar cube corner where she keeps in contact via a phone she gifted to Maud Pie.
I love how colourful they all are! Especially as Rainbow Dash finally looks like a smug, not exclusively sporty in her smugness type. Flutters and AJ show that you can overhaul a design and yet keep the iconic pieces.

Second of all, genuine question- first of all, applejack isn’t canonically lesbian so it’s not even erasure anyway, but if she was, would it still be? I’m not educated on anything that has to do with wlw bc I’m a bi trans dude so correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t lesbian erasure be making a canonically lesbian applejack a straight girl? Here’s the definition of lesbian erasure I found: “Lesbian erasure is the tendency to ignore, delete, falsify, or restate evidence of lesbian women and relationships in history, academia, the news media, and other primary sources. Lesbian erasure also refers to instances in which lesbian issues, activities and identities are marginalized or ignored within the LGBT community.”
Would making Applejack a trans guy be lesbian erasure if she was canonically lesbian? It’d be lesbian erasure if Wren was actively stating that Applejack wasn’t lesbian (again, only if it was canon) but that’s not what he’s doing anyway. It’s just a headcanon.
