McKenna had a way of explaining and describing science that resonates with me personally. He awakened my mind to being able to understand complex subjects in college specifically in biology, chemistry, physics and advanced math. His prose ability aided me in deconstructing the complex into manageable palatable parts. What more can I say of this genius. As a result I graduated in molecular biology and scoiology with a 3.97 GPA.

I don't think that the amount of time or passion an individual spends on something has anything to do with whether or not it's bullshit.
I also don't think that open-mindedness is synonymous with a willingness to believe something without good reason; that's called "gullibility" or "foolishness". I'm extremely open-minded. In fact, i'm so open-minded that i'm prepared to believe literally anything, so long as i have good reason to believe it.
And I've been taking psychedelics for 20 years, but that isn't relevant to the question of whether or not mckenna was full of shit. His ideas aren't supported by evidence. If anything, they are at odds with the evidence, making them bullshit

The idea of the exponential growth of novelty or imo technology, seems valid even now. Maybe some of his calculations were off but, the ever progressing trend of going from a disorderly state to an orderly one is very much real. Now I know that Terence expected some kind of super exponential growth on the last days, minutes, and seconds of his end date on 2012 but, I believe that as we approach the trascendental object at the end of time, time itself begins to behave abnormally. And since time and space are mutually inclusive, it could explain why haven't we experienced what he said would happen. Maybe we are advancing at an extreme rate but people with that kind of knowledge just don't go out in the open about it. Eschatological hypothesis always go hand in hand with chaos or an event that sets things down to zero. I think our eschatological finish line isn't of this sort. We will get to a point in novelty where literally, we won't be able to differ reality from fiction. What's real with what's not. And I believe that's already happening, and will continue to happen. Thr only problem is the powers that be are trying to stop this. They're trying to reverse the trend by introducing chaos, and then giving us the order. I don't know if they can stop the eschatological wave of novelty completely but they sure can try, ordo ab chao; let's just hope that Existence doesn't give a damn about 'em and just keep going and taking us to that ever distant goal we all want to get to.

Everybody needs to research "Zero Point Energy" and the "Zero Point Field", also the "Higgs Boson". Those are the 3 main things underlying and permeating all of "reality".
All Particles have a Zero Point state, and the Zero Point Field is the Field where all of those individual Particles converge/come from.
The Higgs Boson is the particle that gives all Matter its Mass, and without it physical "reality" would be completely different.
Also, read into "Zero Point Field Consciousness".

does anybody know of a link to an actual description/explanation or even specific details of how the ancient Chinese actually distinguished between the 64 different 'subspecies of time' as Terence describes it? His whole theory sounds innovative but I can't get my head round how one would even begin to draw clear lines between the clearly qualitative difference between types of time, especially in a 'mathematical' way. Is it just a kind of estimate, in which case this would be very disappointing?

Especially Sense8, which the creators of Cloud Atlas also worked on. First episode, DMT is associated with seeing life through other eyes; stepping into a higher dimensional slice.

I had counted a specific number for my purpose, and without thought or premeditation I crushed the boiled egg. In some way I know I did it on purpose, but I was shocked because it was like someone else chose to do it, not me. PKD experienced this first hand and expounded upon and analyzed it mercilessly across thousands of pages in his Exegesis. Following his work has taken me to all the places I find McKenna had gone. Following it on my own I have found the same information time and again across Ancient Greece and Egypt, up through the Renaissance and Enlightenment, up and down time and space always following the same thread expressed many different ways but always recognizable. This pattern is our heritage and our origin and our destiny, there for you to conduct into your own harmony, if you are willing to pick up where your ancestors left off. Nothing has been more beautiful or profound in my life. It applies to everything, all at once.

There is great book called Huangji Jingshi which was written at Song dynasty by Shao Yong. In this book, it describes a fractal time structure. The one big cycle is called Yuan which contains 12 Hui, each Hui contains 30Yun, each Yun contains 12 Shi, each Shi contains 30 years. It is a similar structure that 1 year contains 12 months, each month contains 30 days, each day contains 12 shii, each shii equals to 2 hrs or 30 fen.

If you've ever indulged yourself in such a thinking exercise, I think you would be pretty surprised yourself. When looking back to study our past, the problem isn't that you have to strain the mind to make connections where few exist, it's that there are boundless connections and coincidences, so many so that you have to take a step back to filter out what might be a true coincidence and what is just too improbable to exist in apophenia. That is when you take the extra deep dive to study such a phenomena like Terrence did. It's easy to ignore things like this because they are confusing. I still don't like to think about time because I can't really grasp the cyclical concept like Terrence describes, so I'm not the best example. But this is stuff that really has to be studied. We will never understand our universe without understanding time.

I am confused by his example of the sand dunes, he says that the sand dunes being formed by the wind are a lower dimensional slice of the wind. I could really use some help understanding what he means by this. pretty much everything else seems to be completely logically sound and I am in no way suggesting his theory is incorrect. I only seek to find the meaning behind this part of the video.
Please help if you can the effort would be extremely appreciated.

    • @XnecromungerX
      @XnecromungerX 4 ปีที่แล้ว

So when wind moves it affects everything around it yes? and as that expression of effecting things, tiny sand grains more easily feel the effect of wind or get moved more by wind.
What this results in is wind shaping sand dunes like someone sculpting a statue.
So at the high dimension you have wind and its movements which push around a lower layer. The sand dunes are the lower dimensional layer of wind because what it looks like is what the wind shaped. Imagine the wind as the invisible effector and the sand dunes just received that impact.
In the exact same way the experiences you go through every day are a higher level dimension in contrast with your thoughts, because the experiences of the day shake you and get certain thoughts out of you from those things happening.

I won't pretend to fully understand everything he's saying here, but it has occurred to me while watching The Flash that mastery over time would make a person as close to omnipotent as a person could be. And yet, the Flash is always getting punched in the face or shot with exotic ray guns. 🤷🏼‍♂️

🤔 Maybe Terrence eternal spirit is?
He was like a reincarnated Thoth - a teacher, philosopher, a Savant, and _TRUE MASTER without the ego._
He had far more intelligence than most self proclaimed spiritual teachers and leaders today... Those who regurgitate what they read in books or their professor taught them to memorize.
Terrence taught from the depths of his soul; he received his wisdom from somewhere far beyond this material existence. The man could sit for hours and answer any question on any subject thrown his way... biology, higher mathematics, philosophy, science, history, all religions and spiritual beliefs from memory or, _grabbed it from the air!_ And his English vocabulary was more often than not, out of reach to the masses.
I wouldn't doubt he's now trying to reach through the æther in hopes he reaches those ready to receive the secret mysteries of his teachings.

It's because a metal band that hasn been steadily rising in popularity, uncharachteristicly, released an album that sounds like background, studying music. The album is called Timewave Zero. They've played this man's voice inbetween their songs live.
I was being sarcastic. I do like listening to this guy, I'm glad that I was brought here.

well, he should skip this bit about I-ching for sure, been living in Asia for two daces now, and no one literally is taking I-ching here more seriously than we do in the western cultures. its like presenting Tarot to Chinese people telling them, that it is as common for westerners as Mao-Day in China, and all westerners rely on Tarot as a source existential code. But love the Jazz of talking by TM!!! Great Man in his own class and time before the internet kicked in - when no information would be confirmed within a seconds.

Terence was actually an early adopter of the internet and such technology. He was a huge advocate of virtual reality and was a user of some of the first ever virtual reality software. However, he existed before google and the modern internet really came to be.

After finally getting to try some psychedelics myself, I have to say I believe these substances have a mind and soul, a consciousness of their own. I think that would be egocentric to call his own common sense or intellect the Logos. I'm pretty sure that by Logos he refers to the entity which resides behind the mushroom trip.

Terence (and the Mayan calendar) forgot to factor in the lost time since the creation and implementation of the Gregorian Calendar which amounts to 8 years.
What was thought to happen in 2012 is only NOW happening in 2020 with the destruction of humanity and civilisation because we have just reached that temporal singularly where nothing applies to anything anymore and the spring that has been wound up so tight, is now starting to unravel with catastrophic global consequences.

"They were not mystics..." Uh, as far as we know, in all parts of the world, going back as far as we can - people get more mystical the further back you go. The claim that some individual who wrote a Chinese document in paper, vellum, or clay or rock chippings that has lots of spiritual mumbo jumbo in it was not mystical has to explain how that can be defended. I await that impressive explanation - and it would have to be.
Only then to you get to the next ask - "Throwing I Ching sticks works." Hooo - Kay. Never mind unless you can do a double blind on that one. I will not be holding my breath waiting.
