This is Terence at his best. Most physicists assume time to be a smooth linear manifold from the past to the future, throwing out anything that doesn't 'preserve causal structure.' Why should nature be so tidy? It's much more plausible that time and changes are nested, overlapping, logarithmic spirals/cycles of forward and backward-moving time, with second-, third-, (or greater) -order changes of changes everywhere, all the time, all at once. Certainly, our 'recording' of information will always be two-dimensional and linear, but that's just an illusory artefact, a shadow. Ancient humans somehow sensed this, which is also evident in the caduceus symbol of two snakes around a pole, also reminiscent of DNA.

I wouldn't use I Ching or any divination to predict the future, but to measure current energies, be more aware what is going on in the momentum and see possibilities for the future outcomes.

With respect, I contemplated with the I Ching for decades, divining with coins, and it is not so much about knowing "the future" as it is about perceiving the dynamics of one's situation and knowing the best way to act. Pushing through, Keeping still etc.

I find this very interesting, besides the fluctuating knowledge of the i-ching, which I studied and also the concept - that I take out of this video - that one can live a life either based on the past moment or follow the lead of the attractor ... our life is filled with our chosen attractors (eg I chose to listen to this video, based on my interest, intuition and feeling, so it become the attractor for my next moment) --- so when I choose my attractors more consciously, my life speeds up through the quality consciously chosen ... it is like setting goals, you set attractors... also in connection with the universe... it all moves toward the chosen direction

The first 20 hexagrams are the 20 days, and they match the Mayan 20 days and other sets. 21 - 56 are the 36 decans of the solar year. The last 8 are the 8 masters, and these contain elements of the decans and days, according to their place in the pi. These have been correlated with other systems from many places, Hindu, Japanese, and others. Even Stonehenge tracked the 36 decans, as it was recently announced. These systems were globally known.

I grew up learning to read from the I ching and King James but I believe the most interesting points Terrance made were about the novelty seeking universe and our place in it. How we shouldn't be trying to inhibit the lifestyle choices of others. The point is to bring diversity and change to the world not stifle it.

Pretty sure those who wrote the yijing were not looking to diversify the world or even write a book that is easy to comprehend for the masses. You are just imposing your modern day belief on history that you do not understand. To put it in leftist terms, you are colonizing history.

@@bugrist If you've come across manifesting and energy frequency and vibration, then that will help. Every hexagram is your energy vibration at at any particular time. If I'd be doing it again right from scratch I would definitely write down what I was asking it and why so I could cross reference every hexagram I got at any particular moment. Meditate on each answer and also contemplate each answer because there are wider issues with your interpretations than just the personal ones. It does teach politics social relationships as well as the best way and reasons for you to self-improve and improve those around you. It's not a religion or even spiritual even though some people mistakenly call The Source, The Well, God. You'll know your subconscious patterns, motivations and triggers deeply and a lot better.
