I'm so happy to have found someone who is as happy to thrift a good linen piece as I am. Happy dance every time.
Every. Single. Time. ❤️
Love that vintage dress!! I’m a nerd too! I have some white silk gowns from the 30’s-40’s that a cousin gave to my sister and I for play clothes in the 1980’s when we were kids!! 😮 I can absolutely see Carol Lombard wearing these when they were made. Hand sewing and tiny, tiny little buttons covered in silk.
Also have hand made formal dresses from the 1950’s when my aunt was the local beauty queen!! Our cousin made the dresses - they are so TINY!!!
Torrid - I’m plus size. Not a reseller - trying to learn more about it to possibly sell online in the future.
Torrid has never been my go-to brand. I remember the old days when torrid had a pinup / rockabilly / goth vibe. I do have 3-4 pieces from Torrid and they are great. If I’m looking for clothes - much prefer J Jill. They make such soft sweaters!!!
Giving those treasures to kids to play with!!! I guess with little teeny pieces, kids are the only ones who could fit in them 🤣🤣🤣.
Yeah, torrid quality is definitely nice, and I very much appreciate that they make more than shapeless stuff for plus size, but they’ve just been slowing down for me. Maybe the’ll pick up a bit more in the summer for me. I’ll be sure to note that in the videos if they do. But for REAL on the J.Jill sweaters! I have never found anything from them I wasn’t seriously impressed with! 😃
You are so my new favorite! Great finds, even better taste! I just love your style Julia. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so so much!!
I love finding the vintage pieces also. My favorite ever was a 100% silk beaded ivory beaded gown. $2 at the bins and stunning. The woman who bought it said in her review that it would be her wedding dress. I cried. I don't think I'll ever top that.
Oh MAN, what a treat!!! Don't you wish you were able to see a pic of her all done up on the day?! I'll bet it was STUNNING!
I'm like you. I wanted to ask so bad but couldn't figure out how to make it not creepy 🤣
I have sold 5.11 a few times. Based on what I have sold they make a lot of uniform type clothes for medics and security guards. When I mark these as “workwear” they sell fast.
Oooooh. EXCELLENT tip. I absolutely didn't use that tag (probably because i didn't know that they actually WERE a workwear company...). I swear, I learn something new every day!
I have 21 pieces of Torrid ~ all that I thought would sell so quickly - NOTHING! I am about to swear that brand off...
Ughhhhh…I did pick up one more piece today, but it was pretty substantial. I think I’m off of it for a while as well.
And literally, just as I hit send on my reply, I had a Torrid piece sell within hours of listing. Talk about mixed messages 🤣🤣🤣
i've found two Alpha Tauri pieces and felt the same, they've been getting attention but haven't sold yet.
Wow - two pieces! Did you find them together or separate occasions? We’re right on the cusp of F1 season, so maybe try adding in some of those keywords to see if that’ll get em’ moving?
Hi this is susie, in chicago. I really enjoy all your content, I'm learning so much from you. I'm new to all this and just starting out. I have a question, I noticed all your clothes are on a rack hanging, is that how you keep all your clothes I'm asking because some other channels, put their clothes folded in a plastic bag, and keep it in a box, and I don't know why people do one way or the other. Which is better are more efficient or easier. Thank you Susie
Hi Susie! Hope you're staying warm up there in Chicago! Welcome the the reselling game - and don't worry - there's always more to learn!
So - for my unique circumstances, The bar you see is a collapsible rack that I use for my shipping videos - I film them in my dining room (the only room that works for the setup), which is not where i keep my inventory, so I need a way to keep it organized for the packing process that isn't laying them over the back of a chair...)
I keep most things hanging up in a closet, with my finer pieces in a cedar closet - things that are a bit bulkier, or that don't hang well (i.e. pants, skirts, sweaters and knitwear), I keep in totes separated by item type. I think, in terms of storage, it's generally what works best with your unique space situation (i.e. I was able to take over a whole closet, but not everyone has that luxury), with a dash of the actual conditions of where you're storing - i.e. are you storing in a garage or a basement that might have moisture or bug issues? Then you'll need waterproof bins and cedar blocks in them, etc.
So - my advice, assess the space you have available and start from there, BUT do try to put the thought in to it BEFORE you start accumulating larger quantities of inventory. The last thing you want is to make your storage/inventory system an afterthought that happens after you get overwhelmed, because it can just be too much at that point. . If you start organized, you don't have to get organized, and you'll have a MUCH smoother time as you build your business. Hope this helps a bit - and don't hesitate to ask any questions along the way! Between me and some of the other fabulous resellers here, you've got a great sounding board!
5.11 Tactical has to be me fastest selling brand! They have a lot of workwear for people who are first responders (Police & EMS). They also are well know for their ripstop material which is why they are also used often for people who do a lot outdoors, and men with heavy duty jobs.
I have not had a piece from them sit longer than a week! I’ve found and sold 4 pieces since I started reselling in May. Another good piece of information is they will sell for good money still if they have a hole or stains. It doesn’t matter people want them!
Oh, woah! So, that makes sense with the tie-in with first responders - they most certainly can't be dealing with clothing that's going to fail them... So they're up there with Carhartt!
These had a little spot of discoloration on the back, and it still went, but they did sit - maybe just an odd size or something (i think they were a Tall size...) Thanks, as always, for the info! I swear, I never stop learning from y'all!
@@JMSquaredVintagealso want to add that most people don't say the point when they say the brand so it is just " Five Eleven Tactical". I have always had great luck with their lighter weight pants because they are cooler but still durable.
THANK YOU. I swear - I was thinking to myself "if I stumble on this name one more time...." 🤣🤣🤣
I think that 5.11 should do better that carhartt at least it has for me@@JMSquaredVintage
What kind of label printer do you use?
I use a Jaden label printer - Prints wirelessly from my phone and it’s about half the price (or less!) than Rollo printers! There’s a link to it in the video description to check it out, if you are on the hunt for one for yourself
Thank you so much!
You’re so welcome!
Hi Julia I am julie and my husband and I also have channel davidandjewlstreasures we love watching you give great advice.
