    I just wanted to say I'm OBSESSED with how knowledgeable (and passionate) you are about fabrics & styles/cuts of clothing. It makes me smile whenever I watch your videos. Do you think you'd ever make a video about how to clean/care for different types of fabric?

      Well, first and foremost, thank you SO much for the kind words! I really am such a nerd for this stuff. I'm glad it's contagious! You know - that's not a bad idea.... It's a BIG topic (so big that there's an enormous cryptic system of symbols dedicated to fabric care...) but some baselines of different kinds of fabrics and how to care for them might be good... along with some stain removal hacks... I like it!

    Yes, Julia…you had a dress very similar…white with red stitching and red dots, as I recall. I know there is a picture around here somewhere. Such an adorable find!

    I successfully folded fitted sheets for months when working at a hotel. It's just arduous. All 4 corners on one finger, let the elastic flop then turn that semi-square into something that can hide inside the flat sheet, folding table necessary. Even the fancy hotel didn't seem to have any magic on that subject.

      Welp, if even the hotel linen pros are just hiding the chaos, I'm not doing all that bad! I suddenly feel less like a failure 🤣🤣

    Hi Julia
    I loved the St John dress
    I went to an estate sale and it was all St John. I was on a selling frenzy. St John known as top top quality. I can’t wait for your new video about how you do everything. I am blown away with what you have taught me on the videos and have seen my selling pick up big time because of you. Thank you so much. Susie

      OMG I would have bought the WHOLE ESTATE SALE! Just clear the rack and put it straight into my car! I'm so happy any of this is helpful to you - NOTHING makes me happier than hearing about that uptick in sales on your part!!!

    I love the anorak so much! It’s been raining and flooding in NJ since Tuesday so it couldn’t have come a more perfect time. It’s gorgeous and the bright color and sporty, outdoorsy 90s look is perfect for a gorpcore fit. Thanks so much!!

      YESSS! I'm SO happy you love it! It really is the perfect, vintage, kind of floppy fit - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that that TX Direct holds up, at least in some light rain. The water did bead up pretty well for me with a few little droplet tests after it dried.

    Me, I can fold a fitted sheet. I also press my sheets before folding them. My grandmothers both did this so I thought everyone did. My Mema taught me how to fold them but for the life of me I haven’t been able to teach my 12 year old son at all.

    • @JMSquaredVintage
      @JMSquaredVintage  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I DO love some freshly pressed sheets - I'm a line dryer, so I get that kind of crispness from that, but it is always SUCH a treat to slip into ironed sheets. Fingers crossed he'll (and I'll) figure it out, eventually!

    Sidenote, I noticed a lot of orange tones were shipping out this day. Interesting! I’m never sure how that color will do but it looks like it’s having a moment.

    Are you familiar with stromberg? I found some ski pants at the bins that appear to come from Norway - the website is Norwegian.

    • @JMSquaredVintage
      @JMSquaredVintage  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Never thought I’d say this, but I’m NOT familiar with that brand! There are a lot of small brands that exist in the Scandinavian countries that don’t get exported until someone stateside sees the market and brings them in. The quality is probably incredible (low quality outerwear is truly not a thing there), but you’ll be fighting an uphill battle selling it here because of no name recognition. Don’t fret, though! Stuff like that has SO many key words you can use… ski, snowboard, snowmobiling, cold weather gear, insulated, euro, etc etc etc. You’ve always got to wonder the journey those pieces take to land in our bins!

    • @andreaf.6572
      @andreaf.6572 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JMSquaredVintage thank you for your answer! I spelled it wrong - it’s stormberg. Still Norwegian lol
      I also found a weird wool coat- a Japanese brand called Kapital. I thought it was a scratchy wool blanket. The jacket runs about $700 - $1k new. I still have to check condition and research resale prices. No clue how these both ended up in Alabama!!! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @JMSquaredVintage
      @JMSquaredVintage  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Woah! How cool!! I find a good amount of small Japanese brands here, but we also have a fairly large Japanese population around here, so it makes a bit more sense than Alabama... If you sell on Ebay, I'd make sure you have that listed there with international shipping enabled. A lot of my niche Japanese brands that I find end up going back to Japan.

      A little laundry savvy and a REALLY good steamer...but mostly, it starts with sourcing - I try not to pick up too many things that have a ton of wear or damage..that gets me about 90% of the way there!

    I have had a pair of St. John cream pants, size 14, for over a year that just won’t sell! I have had them priced at $25 for months now. Have you ever sold their pants? Do they just sell reallyyyyy slow? Appreciate any insights!

    • @JMSquaredVintage
      @JMSquaredVintage  หลายเดือนก่อน

      hmm - not St. John pants, but I have sold other similarly high-end pants from classic designers (Carolina Herrera, etc). I think the thing to remember on pants is that those are usually the basic in most outfits, i.e. the plainest part. So - when it comes to splurging on luxury, that's usually the last place a person will invest (it's totally counter-intuitive - as you should be investing the most in your basics, BUT that's not how the consumer mindset typically works).
      So - make sure you've got all the keywords in your listing that you possibly can. Like, every descriptor (high-rise? Pleated front? Drapey? Fabric content? Ankle Length?) and every possible style keyword : Old Money Aesthetic, Quiet Luxury. Nautical, Resortwear Minimalist, Closet Staple, Capsule Wardrobe, etc. etc.
      The key, really, when selling, essentially, a high end basic and rising above all the other similar pants out there is being on top of as many searches as humanly possible. Pants will always be slower movers, but it's a numbers game - the more eyeballs you can get on them, the faster they'll move.

    I don’t know what I am doing wrong but I cannot sell free people

    • @JMSquaredVintage
      @JMSquaredVintage  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmmm - it IS getting saturated, so be sure you're being selective with what you're picking up... and make sure you leverage every single key word you have available to you - Free people is usually great for that since they put so many details into their clothing!
