    Are the white pieces shredded a bit? Some people say that some fabrics fray too much. So how many Layers of fabric can it cut through? Thanks so much.

    Can you do this on Cricuit Explore Air 2?

    • @InsidetheHem
      @InsidetheHem  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No. Only the Maker has the rotary blade to cut fabric.

    That's awesome! Saves you time on prep work...so you can get to the fun part which is the actual "stitching!"

    We usually talk about fabrics as "fabric A, fabric b" etc rather than trying to keep track of how much was purchased. Also most people do not prewash their fabric when quilting. Especially when making HST and QST or anything on the bias you want the stabilizers that came in the fabric .to help the fabric remain stiff.

      What happens when you wash the quilt for the first time?

    • @TheBellecm

      Inside the Hem it all shrinks together and gives the quilt a better look

      I prewash because I had a disaster with red fabric in a finished quilt. Bled everywhere.

    my friend has a quilting business. does backing for other people quilts.
    Always pay attention to rotary cutters. she forgot and dropped it on her foot cutting her muscle ect. after surgery she was laid up with a cast for a few weeks. it was bad. buy one that has a release as soon as you stop working the cover springs closed.

    I had no idea this machine could cut fabric lol I thought this was only for paper and stuff like that! Well I know what I’m saving for! Great video!

    Is the circuit air capable of the quilt cutting as well?

    • @InsidetheHem
      @InsidetheHem  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. Just the maker. It has a rotary blade that won’t fit in the Air’s housing unit.

    Hi There! Thank you so much for sharing! I had no idea how to start a project like that! Lots of work... but worth for sure! Would you share the model of your brother sewing machine? I would love to buy one as well... but didn't want to spent a lot of money since I'm a beginner leaner :) THANK YOU!!!!

    • @InsidetheHem
      @InsidetheHem  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't. I just take good care of them to make them last as long as possible, then replace them.

    Love your video! Very informative. But, I've been a quilter and sewer for a long time, and width of fabric is usually from selvage to selvage, as in 45 in wide fabric or 60 in wide fabric. How much you buy is the length, 1/3 yard, 1 yard, 2 yards, etc. Other than that, great video!

    I used my Cricut to cut my quilt pieces. Piece of cake...UNTIL...I went to pull the pieces off the mat. They it shredded the edges, and distorted the pieces. I cut 2 quilts with the same results. You didn't have this problem? Maybe your mats are more used than my brand new ones. Thanks for the videos. I've finished the Half-Hexi quilt (small), but my bigger hexi quilt is a pain to sandwich in a small apt.

    • @InsidetheHem

      Part 3 is actually called: 5 Ways Quilting is Different than Dressmaking feat. my quilt using Cricut Maker & Riley Blake!

    That Cricket makes fast work of cutting! Does the mats really last that long? With my old Cricket, I had to re-stick-ify my mat after about 10 cuts of fabric. The mini quilts you were referring to are Mug Rugs. WOF is width of fabric which is selvage to selvage - not the cut edges. Good luck with your piecing!

      10 uses sounds about right. Maybe 15.

    I'm a little confused. I got my Maker yesterday. YEP! SUNDAY! DELIVERED! Anyway, I bought it to make quilts. However, I'm confused. I am looking at using my tons of fabric (whole purpose of this exercise), and just want the pattern. As I get to the end of the quilt description, it has "images & Fonts used...." and 9 different ones at $1.99/ea. Is this the $13.99 shown at the top of the description page, or added TO the $13.99? In other words is the pattern ONLY $13.99, or is it $27.98? Thanks! I'm on my Linux, or I'd just ask Cricut. I'm in the middle of your videos, so hate to stop.

      I honestly have no idea because I subscribe to the membership where you get the images and fonts for free. My **Guess** would be that it’s in addition to.

    Don't wash your fabric first, that's why everything is fraying. It is annoying, and also lessens the amount of useable fabric you have.
