@@j2398 He addressed this a couple of minutes later if you bothered to keep listening. When you're in shotgun empty, the only running play you have to worry about is a quarterback draw, which doesn't really change the level that you're playing defense since the runner doesn't get as much of a head of steam and has to start from farther back.

Mark has always been one of my favorites, I always love hearing from guys that have actually played.
Mark is the best analyst. I love his insight! Great NFL player too.
It's because russ makes his mind up where he's throwing the ball before the play even happens, theirs no second option unless he starts scrambling.
As a Seahawks fan, I completely agree. He predetermines, locks in, can't see over the middle.
A rough lesson for the broncos after giving home $245M
and thats when hes most dangerous scrambling out of the pocket.

My opinion of Wilson changed in 2020, right after Let Russ Cook fizzled (sizzled?) out and he started throwing multiple interceptions a game. Defenses adjusted to him & Schottenheimer and neither could counter. He’s not the same player he was in 2013 - 2017.

As a Seahawks fan and having seen all of Russ’ games, this decline started happening in the second half of 2020 season, how he’s playing now is just a continuation of that, it’s funny to hear the national media make a big deal about his decline bc if they actually paid attention they would know he’s been declining for awhile now, Seattle traded him at the right time

He led the NFL in turnovers and was statistically bottom 5 in the NFL over the second half of the 2020 season, which was masked by the defense suddenly playing great being top 5 in PPG allowed over that stretch and the fact he played out of his mind in that first half of the season. Russ is not what he used to be

Thursday night or Sunday night people have family's and work, they were tortured enough for 3.5 hours. Never will go to a game again, the prices, the waste of time and money can only be afforded to rich. And all the dead time, there is 20 minutes of live plays can't believe people pay to be tortured.

I lived in the Seattle area in the mid 90’s and no one cared about the Seahawks…period. It was a Mariners and Sonics town. Like 4 people were Seahawks fans before 2005, so let’s not compare fan bases

@@dandwyer5491 can't speak for before 2005 because I didn't live here but I can tell you that this place was rocking during the Matt Hasselbeck era. I've seen a lot of folks say oh no one ever rooted for the Seahawks until Russell Wilson came along and that's just not true at all.

No actually Scot McCloughan brought in all that talent for Seattle from 2010-2013. He was also in charge of scouting and personnel from 2000-2004 getting them to the SB in 2005. You could’ve coached that team from 2012 -2014 there was so much talent. Seattle will be lucky to win 4-5 games total this season. Pete’s a horrible coach who’s stuck in the 80’s.

Screen passes were working very well for Denver, they should be going with what works. Same thing with Colts, they keep calling long developing plays when it was clear the 1 step drop quick passes were much more effective. Teams not recognizing what works and adapting mid game, just blindly sticking to whatever game plan they made going into the game.

You can't treat your second wife the same way you treat your first wife. Russell is still acting like he is playing with the team he played with in Seattle. He's behaving as if he's still in Seattle. He needs to start connecting with his Bronco teammates. That was a knock against Russell in Seattle. He was closer to the kids at Children's Hospital than he was to his own teammates.

Hackett must go. And Russ is too reticent to say anything real at this early stage about his coach, but if Russ wants to salvage this season he needs to get real, real fast; that locker room thinks he’s a phony and the only antidote is to be authentic

Can’t run the ball when your o line is mediocre at best, and you just lost your LT likely for the season, and your RB1 is out for the year. Melvin Gordon and his brick hands isn’t gonna be able to carry an offense, especially with a mediocre o line

Mark Schlereth would be a great head coach for the Bronocos. In fact several retired Broncos should fill in coaching positions for our ball club.
The bottom line is RW was not the final decision maker when it came to passing the ball instead of running the time out to win the game. Hackett needs to be fired. Take this exact same personnel coached by Sean Peyton and we’re 4-1 right now guaranteed. Hackett decided to get cute and cost our team an ugly win, but at least it would have been a win!!

Run the ball, run the clock, kick a field goal, game over. Why are they even bothering with the endzone? Why pass at all? Its high risk, losing strategy.

At somebody who is from Seattle and was a Seahawks fan from day one that was the one weakness Russell Wilson always had. It would be third and one and he would throw a 40-yard pass. He never understood the concept of throwing a three or four yard pass and getting the first down he just never did. And he always had trouble seeing wide open receivers in the middle of the field because he's too short
The guy with 37 career receptions showed more passion than the qb and head coach that's what should be said about hamler well before he did that I said during the game I need someone to be pissed it took the last play of the game to see it but it just seemed Russell not Hackett cared about how bad this was

Sorry but Stink is wrong about the final play. Because it's man, the RBs defender was no threat to Hamler's route. He had his back turned to the QB as Hamler is reaching the goal line. He throws it to the window and the defender covering the burst has no shot to defend it. The ball goes over or past his head right to KJ.

West coast O wasn't ever gonna work. Broncos need to try and run Carrol's ramble scamble O and get Russel out of the pocket.

I hate to say this because I admire Russ. But he will have get with Hackett the coach and sit down and say coach I can't run your offense and I need a simple offense that compliments my skills. I'm not Aaron Roger's .
Actually the problem with the Broncos started with Sean McVay. Sean McVay was 31 years old when he was hired as coach of the Los Angeles Rams. He has been extremely successful. Winning a Super Bowl in his fifth season. All teams know when they are hiring a new coach or trying to get the next Sean McVay. And they’re not.
The coaches they’re hiring are too young and they don’t have the experience that is normally needed to be a head coach in the national football league. Sean McVay what is the exception. There is nobody else like him. Teams need to hirecoaches who have head coaching experience or long-term assistant experience in the national football league.
They paid all that money for wilson all they had to do go to a nearby high school.
